[MOC] D&D Diorama - Battle of the bone dragon
dglacet replied to dglacet's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Yes, that possibility (trans orange pieces) was in my mind, but the amount of needed pieces wasn't in my stock But I'll try, in the future, to have a better rendition for the lava. As soon as it's done, I'll post pictures of the update here.- 8 replies

General overview of the diorama : The battle between the dragon and the wizard promises to be epic! But everyone has a lot to do, with many ennemies coming from the death itself : The lich tries to summon more skeletons, but some fighters are trying to stop it from it's evil plan : The power full ancient dragon, awaken from its grave, under the lich's influence, will be very hard to fight against : But with all this magic blasting from everywhere, a connection within different worlds has subtly appeared, making an uninvited guest, about to meet a tragic fate, appearing in this world... but it wont' save him! Will you find him?

dglacet started following [MOC] D&D diorama

Bonjour à tous, After a few years hiatus from Lego due to lack of space, and thanks to a move and the subsequent move to a larger home, I got back into Lego this year, digging out my entire stash and taking advantage of an empty room to rebuild my workshop. Being a long-time role-player, the release of the D&D set and the minifig series finally got me back into it. So what better way could I do than to start with the D&D set and place it in a setting? Having Castle 10305 as well, putting the two together seemed perfectly natural. Also inspired by many creations found on different other sites, I integrated all of this into a diorama, here are some photos. General view of the diorama : Castle entrance area, which awaits adventurers with a first fight without difficulty, just to warm up : But danger is never far away, and the mythical red dragon is already there. An epic battle begins, mixing weapons and magic, against the dragon's terrible breath : Given the imposing stature of the venerable dragon, the poor knight, after an unfortunate 1 on his wisdom saving throw, can only be petrified with terror!! But all this noise does not disturb the peace of the much more humble inhabitants of the place, whose objective has not changed : Not far from there, a knight spots a weapon; it could well help him in his quest... or perhaps even promise him a much more epic destiny? Near the castle, other evil forces take advantage of the opportunity to try to accomplish their sinister plans : Starting with the lady of pain, whose motivations remain unknown : Or the evil Szass Tam, returned once again from the dead : To amass even more power, aided by his acolytes, the red wizards of Thay, will the sacrifice of a pure young woman allow him to achieve his goal? Fortunately, a very old dragonborn order is trying to thwart his plans. But first, they must defeat the army of death Szass has raised : A high priestess of the order, and her elite guards, have joined the battle because the danger is great : But the army of the dead also uses magic : But nothing a good old fireball can't fix :

Hi there, Having in mind for a long time to make a scene about Space Police I theme and more generally about space classic, I began by designing a new spaceship in the Space Police I sub-theme. This ship purpose is to haul prison cell between bases. It can carry 4 standardised prison cells. It has only two front lasers for self defense, but must be escorted by other starships for its defense. SP1 Cell Hauler by dorian glacet, sur Flickr Regarding the Moc itself, it has been influenced by other mocs seen here or on flickr. I started from an old moc of mine (see here). Side access are inspired by Coja's Star Citizen Aurora MOC. Side engines by Backward matt's work on SciFi design, and rear engine by Space_cat27 Mining ship. For now there's only one render made of this digital moc. I hope I'll be able to build it in real birck later and go ahead with the project I intend to do, that will contain this ship, two others which purpose is to escort the cell hauler, a scene around the landing pad, and maybe some monorail into it :)

Hi there, I'm proud to present you my last MOC made using LDD. It represents Half-life videogame's first scene : The test chamber After having finished the MOC under LDD, I exported it to Mecabricks for final details and then an other export to blender for the renders. Renders have been made by a friend from french forum "CanardPC" as I experienced some problems with blender on my side. Really impressuve!!! I'm a fan of this comic from the first hour. I tryed many time to reproduce the ship without succes. You just won my support on Ideas ;) By the way, if the project doesn't succeed, will you provide the digital instructions of this moc?
-
You're right. In fact, I tried to design something with existing pieces, but in digital, it will be, as you mentionned, more accurate as I can use every color needed. I'll try to update it if i find the time :)
-
Thx guys, the project is now available on Ideas, gathering support, link as been posted on the OP.
-
Finally, after a discuss with the Ideas' staff, the project will be available for support soon, stay tuned :)
-
I proposed it on Ideas, the project was rejected due to the fact that "it refers to a licensed property that doesn't fit the LEGO Group's standards for appropriate content or themes".... The thing that make me wonder is that other projects on this theme have been proposed and accepted (like this one : https://ideas.lego.com/projects/123954)

Here's a moc made with LDD and rendered using mecabricks then blender. It features a scene inspired by HG WELLS science fiction novel "The time machine" and its movie adaptation made in 2002. The scene represents Hartdegen's workroom and the time machine itself. Sorry, im' not from an english speaking country :) Yes, you can fit two minifigs inside, but I need to work on it to make something better
-
It's built at minifig's scale. I don't know yet if i'll build it in real bricks. I have other projects before, but maybe one day :)
-
Your work is absolutely great!!! Looking forward for more ;)

Hi there, here is a creation made with LDD, the Apollo Lunar Module. I imported the creation in mecabrick and then exported it to blender to render it. The creation itself counts 825 bricks and, in my opinion, looks more realistic than the one made by TLC (Lego set 10029) : Rendering test by dorian glacet, sur Flickr
