  1. How can limitation increase creativity?... that is just a narrow minded perspective. I love those who come with new stuff and walk new paths. Whatever that is, and how genuine or however, i don't care, there might be many who like it. I have said it before, if a creative mind would build something awesome, but too far from Lego in the eyes of many here, then it would be a self cleaning mechanism and the style would dissapear from the forums again, but the opposite might also happen... that is being open for new things and cherish true creativity within self regulating borders.
  2. I don't see the need for this. As being a Lego community the MOC should be around Lego. I use stickers, and chromed bricks, so to me add value to the model. It is all about creativity. Look at this perspective: The funny thing is that it is a self cleaning system. You don't really need rigidity. If any would post something radically different with use of other elements or such, the reactions would show if this is something for this community or not. This way we stay open for new creative paths, which is what it is all about. If you look at moc's 10 years back and now, already a lot of things have changed, and i think evolution in this sense is a good thing.
  3. This wheel setup i did once is not documented, but looks smooth: Tyre: 44771 fitted over two: 2903 motorcycle wheels. Ideal for pimp cars, and lowriders...
  4. @VFRacingteam: Thank you, and it is the real engine, i'll tell you how i do it: I position the car on the background, and then fix the wheels on the invisible side from the camera, to fixate a picture allignment. Then i make a picture of the truck with everything closed and complete. The next step is to remove the hood, and possible other sections that reveal the parts, like the engine fully. As the truck is still fixated i take another picture at exactly the same spot with everything exposed. Now in Photoshop i open the last picture with all parts exposed first and then the first one second. I copy the complete picture of the 'closed' truck on top of the exposed one. Now i have a picture with two layers where as the closed picture is on top now, not much exposed parts are to see anymore. Now i use the eraser tool in Photoshop, and tweak the sensitivity (softness and pressure)and radius and locally erase the toplayer (partly)to reveal the second layer of the exposed truck. That is the trick. Now i only have to merge the layers when i have finished editing. @Efferman: True, that is how it is done.
  5. Thanks Sariel and Foggy. Indeed, i love the ghostviews as well. It is fun to make them in Photoshop.
  6. Thank you all, it is appreciated. @timslegos: The mudflaps are made of 3M foil that is adhesive.
  7. For some forthcoming shows I was in need of a Peterbilt to go with an existing dumptrailer I build a while ago. I decided to use the 68.8 original Model Teams wheels as a base, and revamp the idea of the original Black Cat set radically into a lowrider chassis with full detail. It resulted in a 1:15 scaled truck with a lot of detail on chassis, engine and cabin. The engine, fitted under the tiltable hood, is a Cat C15 with chromed parts as well. The interior with working doors is equipped with sport seats, big shifter and black and white trim, as well as a LCD and sofa. The roof can be taken of to reveal this. A ghostview is added to show the engine. This combo will be on display on Lego Fanwelt Koln 2012 (Germany), together with many other trucks from myself, Legotrucks and 2LegoOrNot2Lego. You can see us as well on the 2012 Mackday in Amsterdam, Netherlands, 25th of September 2012.
  8. That's settled in a mature way, thumbs up.
  9. Blakbird is right in saying there is nothing wrong in building from instructions, as not everybody is equally talented. But one should not get an award for it. Then everybody buying a Lego set should get one, after finishing the build.
  10. I think it is rather foolish to display a design of somebody else without crediting, and then entering it in a moc competition does not make sense. Then it is clear you want to suggest it is your own design and creativity. You don't win awards by making a model from existing instructions.
  11. I like your approach on this one, and it is a fresh one. You also set yourself some design limitations by using studless beams only, but if that is your style, then that is not an issue.
  12. Not painted, industrially electroplated... true chrome.
  13. Great work, you did very good on this one! Gotta love chrome, thanks for the inspiration refference.
  14. Thanks for all the support so far. 35 a day seems a good start. Keep them coming!
  15. Didn't know that, anyway we had a good start, with 55 in one day!
  16. Dear Eurobrickers, I have started up a little project at Cuusoo just for the fun of it. It is one of my bikes, and i want to see at as some kind of new Model Team evolution series called 'Probuilder'. Cuusoo Bricksonwheels This is the machine: If you like it, please give it a vote!
  17. I see we are both exhibiting at Fanwelt Lasee, would be nice to have that crossover.
  18. Yes i will Lasse, i like it very much. I might turn it into a pimped Longline R-series, hauling some 20ft containers. It might be a nice ride for Lego Fanwelt in November. I am glad you have a partlist so I can sort a bit. Here is a good example:
  19. Thnx all. I like all the detailed looks you put into this one. The truck is adapted to the trailer with the chromed Technic panels at fixed size. To build then in 1:22 created some mild scale errors, but that is also normal with bricks in smaller scale builds. To me this was the best mix.
  20. I love the Scania Lasse, really good work. I am going to copy it one day
  21. Indeed Efferman, they are plain ugly. And especially for Europeans they look odd, as we don't know them. I think the story is like this: Back in the 70's and 80's, the era of this trailer, semi tractors ran without true rear fenders like we sometimes see nowadays. The trailers were polished though, and i can imagine the dirt hitting the tank all the time, making it a pain in the as$ to clean I think this is how these odd fenders came to live. As i used the 6060's for the trailers rear axles, it was the most homogeneous solution to also use them at the front. It is not a pretty feature, but they resemble the truth.
  22. I wish i could build them in chrome, but it's technically not possible to chrome the 6060 fenders.
