This Harley Davidson Bagger is inspired by the famous 'Red Baron' Fokker DR.1 WW I triplane flown by Manfred von Richthofen. Build in Lego scale 1:10 it features many custom electroplated chrome bricks, like one would expect from me, and the same color scheme as the original aircraft. While updating one of my trucks for the 2013 event season, i got this idea of merging the style of this plane into a cusotm Harley. Don't tell me why or how, but it just happened

I won't copy your excellent Benz, but you did a great job on the instructions.

Hello Eurobrickers! It has been a while but now I am on a building rhythm again This is the third in a series of classic Scania’s i have build. They consist of two 80’s Scania 142 in the same color scheme based on classic Scandinavian design, and this build features a 90’s type 143 V8 Streamline. This series was introduced late 80’s as the successor to the 2-series. The Streamline was the last version being more aerodynamic and fuel efficient. Being a very popular truck amongst truck enthusiast, the versions with the famous V8 engine are the most cherished ones. This truck is a 1:13 V8 500hp version of the 143. I have tried to make it as detailed as possible following current trends in customizing this type of truck, as you see them on truckshows. It doesn’t carry the roofspoiler and sideskirts, but has an oldskool roofrack, and ladder. The big standing exhausts show American influences, where the side and chassis covers and are a truly Scandinavian feature originating from the 80’s but still very popular. The interior is made in more modern style, with brown and tan trim, to replicate the custom leather interiors seen a lot these days. The truck is in 6x2 (six wheels – excluding the inside rears, two driven) trim, with a liftable second axle. This model contains about 4000 Lego bricks, and uses a lot of classic parts like the old Technic 24x43 wheels which went out of production actually around the time the real truck went in production. For my standards there is only the necessary chrome applied, and I custom made the stickers myself. The chrome parts are as always electro-plated truly chromed bricks (to avoid answering all the questions, you can buy them at Bricks4all.nl ). The rear mudflap is 1 mm genuine rubber to give it a more real appeal.

Best Dump Truck?
Bricksonwheels replied to sapo117's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@Technikfreak: It is indeed all genuine Lego. And yes, they are all electro plated industrially, so it is true chrome, hence the shinyness :-) I work together with Bricks4all.nl, he is the only one providing true plated bricks. This is also why not all parts can be done. Some are not suitable for the process. -
Best Dump Truck?

I made a fully functional dumper once: It is very different from the Technic design. Use your own imagination, that is always best. -

Hey buddy, good to see you here, and a great piece of work again! -
Possible rare wheels?

You should cherrish them, and above all, use them, that is their purpose. I have used them in one of my latest builds: -
Hummer H3 on 9398
Bricksonwheels replied to Bricksonwheels's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thnx all! Indeed, the body is not as tough as the Technic variant obviously... although it is not that weak either. You can do some good terrain work with it, but it rolls quicker then the 9398, and you want to avoid that :-) @Victor: The scale is spot on. -
A fully functional 4WD has been on my list for a while. After I had build the 9398 Technic set that I got as a gift a while ago I decided to use it as a base for the new Hummer I had planned for. I took the whole thing apart and rebuilded the chassis lowering it a bit and replacing the battery box. Also the fixture points for the suspension was changed. With the chassis modded for suitability and color trimmed, a completely new body was installed. The car is slightly less detailled compared to what I would do normally to save some weight, but still on a fair level. The car is fully functional and still has very good terrain capabilities. The point of gravity is a bit higher so it rolls a bit quicker then the original thing. Being a bit heavier, it still does perform very well. I heard about the Technic contest from efferman, but too late,... i modded the chassis already, and it is now not legal :-)

'956 - Auto Chassis'
Bricksonwheels replied to underwurlde's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Ooh i love the 956... i got it as a kid when it was just released.. i think i was around 11 then. My parents could barely afford it, but I guess they knew that I would like the stuff I don't have the whole set anymore, as my sister took some Lego as well when we moved out, but I still have the wheels, and they are truly mounted under one of my old trucks (yes, one before the chrome era) -
By definition: Creativity is defined as the tendency to generate or recognize ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems, communicating with others, and entertaining ourselves and others. I think the main discussion here is what framework should be put around the above, concerning our moc hobby, and i am convinced no one would ever agree. Some just like limitations as a challenge, other like their cards open for fresh ideas. Both can give pleasure,.... i am convinced, it is a personal matter. I felt limited in my creativity by the lack of chrome about 3 years ago, and really wanted to do better on my models then the regular gray bricks. I found a company capable of chrome-electroplating bricks in volume for me. I was the first using that technique (i dislike the 'painted' ones), and luckily many others like it as well. My models are genuine lego but 'tuned' with true chrome and custom decals. I think that is accepted here. That is also what i meant with self regulating. What if i would fit custom windows (i could easily lasercut them at work from acrylic plastic)? My gut feeling tells me for many it would be too 'hybrid', as additional parts are added... but the model itself could look better. I guess i might just do it on a future build, and see how it lands. Custom windows might be a new trend , .. or they will be shot down in flames...
