Or a wall! (Recognize this falcon, Lobot?)
-
Wow, that's a tad more than I paid for a used (pristine) original about 6 months ago. Didn't realise what a good deal I got.
-
Apparently someone on 4chan plans to leak the prelims in the near future, we'll just have to wait and see.

A multicoloured molded or printed jetpack is a possibility I hadn't thought of. Hopefully, then.

Are you allowed to show this yet?

BrickLinking (another) 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon
Regimus replied to Lobot's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Looking forward to pics. I really like to see these projects but I don't think I could part one together myself. Sorting and building the thing was good enough for me.- 290 replies

Is that a Dumbledore hair rock?

I'd consider looking at the new UCS tie instructions, or sparkart's moc, but it would mean deviating further and further from the original model. Personally, I would use 75095 as a base and work on the wings from there, as 10175 looks fairly outdated now.

I know it's the MF windscreen, but I don't know how you removed the print without ruining the trans!
-
I've been waiting to see a new one of these for a long time, excellent job! Please tell me how you made the half cone windscreen clear, though!

I like the amount of detail you can achieve on the ships with the larger scale, which obviously didn't really work with the TIE fighter unfortunately. I have the Y, X, & B-Wings, I think they all look great. Even though minifigs are way to small they actually look okay inside because the head is pretty much to scale and you can't see the torso or legs.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Regimus replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Ya know, that's a standard sort of phrase that doesn't really have to mean anything sexual. Earthporn is beautiful pictures of natural landscapes, for example. -
Differently colored A-wings (sort of based on McQuarrie concept art)

Sorry to be a party pooper, but I think about 75% of the posts in this thread don't belong here any more. Is there anywhere else to just chat about stuff loosely related on LEGO Star Wars? I come here every once in a while to see if there are any updates, but having to look through 6 pages to find absolutely nothing is getting a bit annoying.

Thanks for the tips, BEAVeR. It may look like a lot, but once the plates are added, most of them are still only held on by 3 - 4 studs. I also thought about using those larger hinge/plate combos but if you look closely at the gutted picture I was working with a few rather small dimensions that would have made using a 4x5 difficult. Using the small hinges you get the same number of studs facing up and down which has helped with the strength.

As much as I love 10227, there were areas that I felt could have been done much better. Unlike other sets in the UCS line I have seen very few mods, and those that exist have few details. I now feel I have addressed all of my gripes with the model, including a stand that lets me invert the ship, a whole new cockpit and plated S-Foil undersides. Unfortunately I didn't make my album with EB in mind (I'm sorry guys ), so my images are probably too large to embed. All I have for you now is this imgur album and I may add some images to my post later. http://imgur.com/a/uKn5z I'd like to add that I'm not happy having the MF print on the cockpit, and the half cone doesn't come in clear without a print on it! It looks OK, but does anybody know a good way of removing the print? I know many have done so with opaque parts but not trans.

If you do it one set at a time it costs you absolutely nothing.

Here's an idea. Fairly time consuming, and requiring a substantial starting budget, but it may be worth it for some. -Buy the current ISD, in multiples if you can afford it, and you now have two OT Stormtroopers for each 75055 in your possession. All you have to do now is sell the rest of the contents. -If you were to sell elements of the set individually you can break even, maybe even make a profit. Vader, the crew and the Palpatine microfig are all desirable on their own. -To speed up the process you could find the cheapest available figures and lower your price by £1/$1/1 euro to guarantee the fastest sale. -Make sure to keep an eye on how much you're spending initially and how much you are making back, and also any fees eBay, PayPal or Bricklink may be charging. -Finding the set discounted is the jackpot here since you might be able to flip it without mifigs for the same price you payed new.

TUTORIAL: Remove print from decorated elements
Regimus replied to Hinckley's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Has anyone tried any of their methods out on clear parts? The 4 x 8 cone half only comes in trans-clear with various prints that I would like to remove. -
LEGO 10227 - Longer "stick" to better secure rear cockpit?
Regimus replied to Haderach's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I originally intended to integrate the MF windscreen with the 10227 cockpit but the angles and size were drastically different. I have built a new cockpit from scratch, based heavily on the latest MF, which incorporates the original 10227 seat as well as some controls I've put together in the very limited space. Why do lego continue to mock us with the lack of regular OT stormtrooper battlepacks?

I managed to come up with a simple fix for the wobbly side panels, but it's very awkward to attach, is anyone interested?

nerdsforprez, how did you achieve the underside plating? I'd love to do the same to mine.
