  1. Aside from the flagship store set to open in Bourdeaux, France in 2015, maybe it's not too early now to speculate on where other new stores may open then? Also, is there any chance of new stores opening later or towards the end of this year which haven't been announced yet? I'm particularly interested because I hope one opens in Ottawa, Canada (my area) in the very near future. With two new stores having opened in the Montreal area earlier this year (Carrefour Laval & Fairview Pointe-Claire), we are now the largest metro area in the country that still doesn't have one. :-\ Also, by looking through the US, there are definitely still some major metro areas there that could use a store (Pittsburgh, Tampa, New Orleans, Jacksonville just to name a few), I'm sure there are big Lego fans there like me hoping their area gets one too. :) Any other places?
  2. Played with my 8110 Unimog.
  3. Haven't seen any the 2014 Technic sets available in Canada yet.
  4. Sounds like a great idea. I'll try that next time I replace the batteries in my 8110, 9398, and 42009 (they all use the same battery box, and thus have the same problem). I hate how TLG designed it with one side like this.
  5. Thanks, was lucky to find it still available at my local Toys R Us the other day. Finished building the rest of it today and it was very enjoyable indeed. :)
  6. Started building the 8110 Unimog U400 and completed the chassis and cabin.
  7. Ditto, as those are the only two sets on the list I have since I just got back into Lego this year. It would be interesting to see where 42009 fits onto everyone's list as it's already out now (I have that one too). :)
  8. Just got back into Lego with a bang earlier this year after coming out of my 10 year long dark age and already picked up several modular buildings and Technic flagships: 10218 Pet Shop 10224 Town Hall 10232 Palace Cinema 10243 Parisian Restaurant 8110 Unimog U400 9398 4x4 Crawler 42009 Mobile Crane MK II Also considering the following: 10244 Fairground Mixer 70810 Metalbeard's Sea Cow 42000 Grand Prix Racer 42025 Cargo Plane Gonna be an expensive year for me when it's all said and done. Hope my wallet won't be too mad lol.
  9. A cement truck would be nice. I know there's one in the City theme, but I don't think we've ever had one in Technic before.
  10. Not a huge bargain, but I got 9398 from TRU in Canada at 20% off last Friday, though it's been removed from the TRU Canada website since. In fact, it looks like all the Technic sets are on sale at 20% off in Canada until Thursday.
  11. I keep the boxes with the instruction booklets and the empty bags at the top of my closet.
  12. Things could change, but from what I've seen so far, I'm not overly pleased with this year's sets with the exception of 42025, which I plan on getting once it's released here in Canada. Since coming out of my dark ages, I've picked up the past three flagships (8110, 9398, and 42009), but I think I'll be passing on 42030.
  13. 9398 4x4 Crawler from Toys R Us at 20% off.

    Stickers?

I don't really like the process of putting stickers on either like most people, but they do make Lego models look better. More printed pieces would be ideal.
  15. It looks like you can take out the four pins that were put there in Book 2, page 38, step 1 to limit the steering in the first place. Check out this video to see how to do it:
  16. Can't believe I was able to pick this up from Toys R Us today, as it had already been retired for a while now. I guess they were still clearing out their last batch of inventory. Looking forward to building it! :)
  17. Went to Toys R Us to buy 9398 4x4 Crawler but ended up leaving with 8110 Unimog. Couldn't believe they still them in stock! :D I guess they were still clearing out their last batch of inventory as that set is already retired.
  18. I have the PR as my rightmost building so that side window is visible. From left to right, my town goes PC, PS townhouse, TH, PS, PR.
  19. Finished building the Parisian Restaurant.
  20. Just finished building mine. Looks even better up close than in photos; definitely my favourite modular by far and certainly a must-have!
  21. Did not have this problem with either of mine.
  22. Bought PR three weeks ago along with PC. Started building PC within two days and finished it in three evenings while working during the day. Still haven't started on PR yet as I tend to like leaving my brand new Lego MISB for a period of time, but I'm sure I'll succumb to finally opening and building it given the total awesomeness of this set!
