  1. I'll add yet another one from Oxford for people who like to display stuff http://oxfordtoy.co.kr/pro/detailox.asp?m_code=15771&p_code=10
  2. An alternative http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=105830&hl= and I saw a guy on youtube who uses duct tape.. it wasn't too bad.
  3. Here is a promotional shop Oxford made here in Korea, it's a cosmetic shop, you can see the interior. http://alldressy.blog.me/220238256341 and here is one for a outdoor clothing shop they also made: http://blog.naver.com/angelbs79/220260123360 http://cafe.naver.com/biclo13/1135 The clothing rack looks nice.
  4. I just looked her up and saw about 3 seconds of that. Absolutely nothing about that would entice me to watch her.
  5. I don't believe this. With Youtube's current system there are no penalties applied to your account unless you appeal twice and lose.
  6. Not necessarily, some sellers spam the keyword enlighten in their description. I love their Q&A.. "YES, you pay the FACTORY PRICE! From what I've seen, no, as I mentioned earlier, sets, including enlighten are marked up horribly on Aliexpress. 3x-5x+
  7. Have both. When I was young, I had all my pirate sets. I also had a couple containers of random bricks that I just built anything out of. If they have lots of spare pieces they won't really feel the need to demolish well built sets. So buy up lots of bulk lego from people selling them and let them use those for random builds.
  8. 1688.com I had an online chat with their CS and they seemed to indicate they can ship outside the country.
  9. Just a note on Aliexpress, as I was looking around yesterday I found out it's a massive ripoff. I found an internal Chinese site and compared prices. The ausini trains which get a decent rep, go for about $100 on aliexpress, on an internal chinese site, only in chinese, the exact same train? $18. I also looked at a new Enlighten package delivery set, AE was $16, fully chinese site, $4.80. Those are 1-2 quantity purchase prices. While the shipping might make it worth it on smaller sets, it isn't going to cost you $82 to ship that Ausini set. Ordering individual or small amounts of minifigs from there might also be fine, but if one were looking at bigger sets or larger amounts of minifigs, it might be worth it to look for an alternative.
  10. To expand on that.. The current Codename Cobra isn't bad, but I'm not a big fan of the minifigure change. I hope it isn't permanent. As for good sets from Oxford that AFOL should check out, I'll link to some pages. Their last round of military stuff was brilliant. Basically every set there was a winner. http://oxfordtoy.co.kr/pro/oxford.asp?p_code=10&g_code=97 Several of their other sets are good value and worth checking out. Their town stuff would mix in well with Lego. http://oxfordtoy.co.kr/pro/oxford.asp?p_code=10&g_code=99 We have the house, the car repair garage, and bucket truck. All solid. Really looking for the camping set, but hard to find. If you are into boats, any of the Oxford Coastguard or police series boats are nice. http://oxfordtoy.co.kr/pro/oxford.asp?p_code=10&g_code=185 We have the small set, looking for a good price on the larger one. http://oxfordtoy.co.kr/pro/detailox.asp?m_code=14471&p_code=10 http://oxfordtoy.co.kr/pro/detailox.asp?m_code=12801&p_code=10 http://oxfordtoy.co.kr/pro/detailox.asp?m_code=12811&p_code=10 Also any of the Oxford Korean historical sets are great too: http://oxfordtoy.co.kr/pro/oxford.asp?p_code=10&g_code=172 http://oxfordtoy.co.kr/pro/oxford.asp?p_code=10&g_code=111 http://oxfordtoy.co.kr/pro/oxford.asp?p_code=10&g_code=52 http://oxfordtoy.co.kr/pro/oxford.asp?p_code=10&g_code=51 http://oxfordtoy.co.kr/pro/detailox.asp?m_code=13501&p_code=10 I like their change sets http://oxfordtoy.co.kr/pro/detailox.asp?m_code=12601&p_code=10 http://oxfordtoy.co.kr/pro/detailox.asp?m_code=11291&p_code=10 and their police riot bus http://oxfordtoy.co.kr/pro/detailox.asp?m_code=11381&p_code=10 and if you want pink and purple bricks without the stupid figures, their Sweet line is great http://oxfordtoy.co.kr/pro/oxford.asp?p_code=10&g_code=120
  11. I picked up the SY Turtles pack a couple days ago. $9 for the 8 figures here on the street. Very impressed with the quality and my daughter likes the skateboards. I'll probably stick to SY. They have good arms and legs. Decool was also good, but my starlord was missing a hand.
  12. Don't suppose you'd put those on imgur for those of us who don't want to log in to see an image?
  13. Thanks. I have to find a place first that has a machine big enough to take this sheet of bristol board it's quite large. 54 cm wide. When I go in to pick up more tomorrow I'll check if they have a machine large enough or not.
  14. Yes, I'm just worried if it'll make it too slick or not. I actually like it without the laminate as I can push the the buildings right up against the sidewalk and the slightly raised edge kind of makes it line up nice. I wish I could find a way to secure it to the paper. I'm planning to buy a blue piece and make water with a dock, and add a second bit of streets as I've got some other street stuff on the way. Right now it's mostly Oxford Block sets (you can see a friends set up near the top) but some Lego sets will be added. Oxford does more limited runs on some of their sets, so I'm trying to collect a lot of the ones which are only available on the second hand market right now before I jump onto the more expensive Lego sets.
  15. As my daughter is just starting lego, and liking city, I've been focusing on getting some sets and not wasting money on road plates. Yesterday I put some finishing touches on some homemade roads that we'll use for the time being. The base is bristol board the sidewalks are printed and cut to size for sidewalks. Lanes are 7 cm wide, 1/2 cm for the yellow line. Sidewalks are 6 cm wide. The crosswalks are printer paper with rectangles cut out. I may add some common Korean writing to the road and I'm debating whether or not to laminate it.
  16. The sniper has the backpack and he has no issue wearing the belt.
  17. I don't know that I've seen those around here in Korea. Mostly we get those cheap little horrible enlighten sets, and a few bigger enlighten sets and that's it as far as Chinese Knock-offs go. Oxford and Lego more or less have the country locked up between them. This is the first time I've seen these ones, and only on this special toy street. After testing I did notice that the helmets are so so. The snipers hat didn't fit a lego mini, but one of the soldiers helmets seemed to fit just fine. The other accessories fit well. A little bit of filing on the sniper hat could have it fitting okay.
  18. After a long absence I'm back. My daughter is now getting old enough to get into the hobby. I've been slowly introducing her to some of the Oxford sets I had and I picked up the big Lego Classic pack. Just today I was out hitting the famous "toy street" here in Seoul and found something very interesting which I can find next to no information on outside of Korea, mainly due to the name. They are chinese, the company seems to be called DIY which makes it hard to search. These are single pack military minifigures and they're quite impressive. They are only $1.25 here in Seoul, and come with an amazing amount of stuff. Two full sprues of things. On the back of the box you can see everything included in the pack. The figures have arm and leg printing. The heads are flesh color sadly, but that's okay. Some of them have decent printing on them, and the quality is decent. They come on a lego minifigure like stand, and the plastic is solid. I would say these weigh only slightly less than a lego minifgure indicating a lighter plastic, but they don't feel cheap. Joints are tight and accessories are all good. I found only one or two that felt a little loose in their hands. You can watch a video on them here: (not my video, it's in Korean, but you can see the figure assembled and a few different ones)see the back of the box here: Each figure has different weapons and accessories.
  19. It doesn't matter who owns it, it's got the Lego name on it, and Lego has come out on their facebook page and repeatedly made statements supporting the decision by the Merlin group. That makes them just as responsible in my opinion. I'm extremely disappointed, and find it disgustingly offensive.
  20. http://news.national...he-brings-kids/ Funny how disney land doesn't need a policy like this to maintain a "family atmosphere". I've got a hard time supporting a company that thinks I'm a "risk" to their business. I think my daughter's duplo set I got her last week will be her first and last Lego product.
  21. just a general note on my reviews..the pics on them all died, imageshacks fault. After using them since they opened, they decided to limit people to a certain number of images. I downloaded and wiped my account, I wasn't going to start paying them out of the blue for that, especially with their terrible customer service.
  22. EMS is like express shipping from the post office. It gets delivered via the regular post, but done in an express manner all around the world. Regular shipping from Korea is pretty fast though. It is much slower to ship things to Korea than out of Korea. I've sent regular small packages out of Korea and had them arrive on the far side of Canada 5 days later.
  23. Ouch, guess a poor clone lover like me doesn't rate...
  24. I believe because this person is a Chinese seller. Those aren't oxford blocks, they're another brand and you may find them somewhere else. They probably wouldn't ship the items into gmarket and then back out again. Yes, the company name is Wange Toys http://wangetoys.en.alibaba.com/productshowimg/454095920-212459791/WANGE_TOYS_The_Eiffel_Tower_of_Paris_France_978_pcs_blocks.html Try Ebay http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=wange&_sacat=See-All-Categories of course ebay's prices are through the roof
