  1. Hello folks. Back at it again. My newest creation is the TIE interceptor. Pretty straight forward. I combined ideas from my TIE fighter and TIE advanced, with some other adjustments to create the interceptor. As always, criticism is appreciated.
  2. Perfection!! Cut, print, make the real thing!! I see a 4 differences. The fin is back, the cannons are doubled again, and the inserts in the engine intakes. The fuselage was reworked a little with the white bricks. Or the X-wing. Or the Falcon.
  3. I like the changes to the engines, make it look less lego-like. My opinion is that the double guns looked better, but I won't miss them as bad as I miss the bottom fin. If you keep the second guns off, are you going to remove the plates with holders? Also, any chance you can make the intake side of the engines look more similar to the 170 and the x-wing intakes? That was it would make it look more like the 170's little brother.
  4. Love all of the changes you made. Do you think this will help support the wing weight if built? I will miss the fin at the bottom, I like that part of the design.
  5. I am curious to see the Snowspeeder and the B-wing. The minifig mini's look fun and playable, but not for me, maybe if I had a son. I can see the minifig battle packs being a huge seller for the minifig buffs. Everything else is meh. I know this is a far cry, but I am hoping the UCS is an A-wing, but I am seeing a lot of rumors about a Sandcrawler.
  6. Thank you for the kind words! Thought about landing gear for all of my models, and that may still happen in the future. For now, I am just going to use clear display stands until I figure out if I want to use landing gear or make a scene out of them all.
  7. Most recent picture with the current modifications I have done.
  8. Really was unhappy with how my last A-wing turned out. In case you don't remember, it looked like this: Well, I completely ripped that model up and started over. I am much happier with the new one. Much much happier. It is still the same size as the older one, but looks bigger, which doesn't help is for scaling, but I don't really care because I love how well it turned out. The other things is that I can't rotate the wings like before, but not worried about that either. Here she is:
  9. That middle a-wing design looks very familiar. But...much better. PM sent.
  10. This is really cool!
  11. To show the scale of mine: EDIT: Changed the TIE's up a little to thin the wings out.
  12. Looking at some more picture, I think I got the scale right. But then if you look at wookiepedie, the TIE is 6m and the X-wing is 12m. And on wiki the X-wing is 15m. No real answer.
  13. I think you could find 5 or 6 people who have enough money and would be willing to purchase the pieces for themselves to make it as well as pay for 1/5 or 1/6 of the cost to fund yours as payment for the LDD.
  14. Does TLG update their orders as shipped? Or are they bad at doing that? I have 3 orders in with Pick a Brick for about a week and a half now and they are all still in process.
  15. Yea they are a tad wide, I am going to work on the size, but it might be tough to do. It really all depends on which scene you watch to determine the scale. If you watch the trench run, the TIEs are smaller, if you watch the scene where Wedge goes head on with the TIE that's pursuing Biggs, the TIE is much wider. Hard to get actual specs on every ship, too, because every website has different specs on all of the ships that I build, so I eyeballed it as best as I could
  16. The drink (middle of the bar) area blows my mind at some of the pieces you used to create such a beautiful scene! Well done!!!!
  17. This is my progress thus far. A-wing, X-wing, Y-wing, TIE Fighter, TIE Advanced. I may be finished for a little while, as there isn't any others I really want. I am going to use the Midi MF from TLG for this set, as it will scale well with my set. I will also use TLG's Planet Series Snowspeeder for this set, as that is scaled good for my set as well. Thank you to everyone, especially Brickdoctor and Beaver for all of the great ideas to help me get these just the way I want them!! Here is my MOC mini family!
  18. I don't know why that picture showed up, should be this one below.
  19. Final rendition of the TIE.
  20. Okay, I think this is the final rendition. I need to fix the regular TIE's grey on the wings and then also move on to the bomber! I see what you are saying. Basically eliminate the inside layer and keep the outside tile layer, then it would still be only 2 layers thick. To be honest I didn't like all of those tiles. Just looked too weird to me. I did, however, just add a gray piece inside that I forgot about.
  21. Okay, updated with the changes. Bigger cockpit and wing connectors, and made the inside grey. I also went overboard on the wings, maybe not. What do you guys think? Go back to the old wings or keep them like they are now?
  22. You are both correct, I didn't even notice that the cockpit was bigger. I will see what I can do. Same with the inner middle panels. I can't believe I didn't pick up on these details. My wife was rushing me out the door and I wanted to get it posted before we left. I will work on that as well. I am having a problem with the greebling on both of my TIEs, and I don't think the grill tiles are the answer either. I am still fiddling with that to make them better on both fighters. I think the next thing is going to be a TIE Bomber. Honestly, I don't know if I am even going to do a B-wing, because I hate the thing. And the MF Midi that TLG came out with will suffice for me for scale. Same with the TLG Planet Series Snowspeeder.
  23. Thank you very much for the ideas! As far as the engines go, they are on the outer rounded part of the back, not the middle, so they are not going to make it on. I tried using bars instead of the striped tiles, and it was almost too much gray because they are so thick on these mini models. I do love the idea about giving the window more detail, and will try that out as soon as I get home! Also love the idea of using it as the imperial logo! As far as your micro TIE, I have a bunch of ideas for you, if you would like them, I can throw a sample LDD together and send it over to you!
