Nothing beats that Dacta hospital. Glad I grabbed it for $75 off of ebay 6 months back.

Easy answer...older sets. The new ones do nothing for me. The 6 wide cars and semis that are as long as a city block, no. I only collect the minifigs from sets now and keep building the old. I have 7 of the old seaports but wil never buy a one of that gastly new thing. That "marina", ugh, are you serious? Only thing I would consider buyiing are the castle sets as the seem to be closer to the old style than anything.

Yea, about a year ago, I sold all my castle figs to concentrate on city sets. I made a good amount for less figs than what I just got but I regretted doing it. This was like an instant collection that put me in a better place with more than I had before. At that time, I sold all my castle sets but with buying bulk lots, I was able to rebuild everything again. All the good 80's stuff. Now I am concentrating on castle so it's time to build up the armies and go all out building the catapuls and such.

73 total. There are 14 Royal Knights, 27 Crusaders, 14 Black Falcons, 9 Wolf Pack, 7 rogues and 2 forest women. Includes 20 horses, 5 with horse covers. 5 wooden axes, 6 large axes, 10 jousting lances ( 8 with flags ) , 17 wooden spears, 3 black spears, 16 swords, 8 crossbows, 2 wooden bows, 1 black bow, 6 large silver swords,1 katana, 1 wizard hat, 4 King's crowns, 48 helmets, 7 breast plates, 15 shields,1 skeleton, 4 capes and 5 horse head covers as well as a few other misc items.

I just bought me a nice classic army off ebay for $200! All old school Black Falcons/Lions/Forestmen. Along with 21 horses and a TON of weapons. Didn't think asking a person with a live auction would just straight up sell but WOW, it did. Can't wait til they get here!

Why is the carousel bigger then houses? Why is a walking shark in the town?

My favorte police set. My town would be overly harbor (I have 7 total Launch + Load seaports/Intercoastal seaports) so this is the best option for me to have as a police station. It's just a nice set overall.

The whole raised baseplate thing I understand people not liking it without. But 95% of people's city layouts have the water level with all thier road plates anyways. So thier town layouts, everything is water level. Why the issue? I was one who also said the should be raised plates but then after looking at it, nothing else is raised anyways. Still, a bad looking set regardless.

A police station arcade? I'm confused by the police logo on the window.

I was excited about this set when I heard about it but when pictures came out, blah. I had the same thought about the building. Right away that blue made me think of that auto garage from the 80's. The crane looks way to simple and plain. The truck is just a throwaway for me anyways as I am 100% against 6 wide veicles. So if the set was ok, that would have been junk to me anyways. I never will understand why the dock is water level. Makes no sense what so ever. But on the other hand, how many peoples city layouts have water and road plate level anyways. I know if I had my city laid out, the water would have been roadplate level as well. Only thing that would have been higher would have been my 3 seaports from the 90's. I just think for a stand alon set, it should have been raised and a diff color used for the building. Def disappointd on this and the marina. Both could have been so much better but seem to have taken a stpe backwards towrds junior days.

You have a complete set, why piece it out? I have say 3 Metro Park Towers. I didn't piece thm out, I baggied them up and boxed them.

I usually don't think much of others MOCs as they do nothing for me. Too many 6 wide vehicles or way huge trucks or way too huge of buildings or yadda yadda but this I like. Great idea and the execution paid off. Plus no 6 wide cars!

Granted it is a lot of stuff and nice collection but when all put out like that, it looks like a jumbled mess. Just my opinion tho.

Is there a place to keep track easier than Brinklink? I find it hard to add figures if it isn't a set. Meaning I want to collect just figures, not sets. How do I easily find how to add and keep track of what I have?

Not many things I say this to on this board but...BRAVO!!

I'm guessing this is going to just be me but for some reason the whole thing seems way too misproportioned. It just seems too big for the minifig scale. Again, prob just me as everyone loves these things and all. I'll go with the "poor" rating as I would have no use for this thing if I paid $15 for it.

Only thing childish is 99.9% of the new sets. They just don't hold thier own to the 80's/early 90's stuff. For example, take any jet from an airport now. They just look like a reg toy. And cars? Most don't even have a car door! They make semi trucks that are as big as a city block. Meh.

The marina set looks like junk regardless of whether it would have a baseplate or not. The seaport as well with no real dock type thing. They take steps forward with city corner and the family house then 3 steps back with these sets.
