  1. What if they replace the Lego with rock?
  2. Would reselling the pieces equal, closely equal, the amount of buying just the figures? I just started buying sets for the minis and am going to open shop on BL. I thought about getting a Death Star but most of the figs don't look to be too expensive.
  3. Ok, I went thru 20 pages and didn't see this so I will ask. I am in the US and want to sell. Problem is how do I know prices to give for shipping when I haven't shipped? I know if it's a certain amount of pieces, they can go in the small flat rate box but what about just whatever pieces? I have been buying for years and a lot use the Paypal shipping. But doesn't shipping like say first class depend on thickness of the envelope? I would love to sell but this shipping thing is confusing me.
  4. The Garage is horrible. The security and mechanic is on the middle layer? The gas pumps look goofy. Don't even get me started on the ugly cars. And what is that thing, a tow truck?? No railings? I just think it looks bad. Granted the old version had no way for a car to "turn" to get off the elevator but geez, at least it had rails along the sides so as not to drive/walk off. Plus it just LOOKS 100 times better then this thing.
  5. Picture heavy how? I see none.
  6. Funny, I went thru the UK part (I'm in the US) and was told the set has not been available for years.
  7. So nice to see classic inspired town rather than the modular junk. Long live 4 wides.
  8. Was this built and the pic taken to be sent into the Lego Club magazine? Sorry but it looks like something you see on the pages of where "models" are sent in.
  9. Love reviews of the Classic sets. They really point out how bad the new, big, bulky sets of today are.
  10. Dumb question: why are there blue and red plates for a green and white truck?
  11. I have this. Can not find any info on it. It is not in the Bricklink catalog, only as red or blue. I label it is a production oddity as I can not find it listed as existing.
  12. Why is train track floating on water?
  13. Great post from the "target audience".
  14. I think my biggest gripe with going to Lego boards and reading these threads is that everyone seems to love everything. No one can not like what Lego puts out. Before the sets came out, it was all AFOL's proclaiming how great these sets will be for pieces and all the unique parts. They weren't buying them for any "kids". Now, everyone has a "kid" story that just loves them. Why can't someone not like these sets? Again, I also ask where all this research was done? I can't get an answer to that. I remember one news story about how girls said the classic minifig was too bulky and what not. People thought that was ludacris. Again, sets come out, everyone loves them. Why did these sets have to be SO different? I read on other boards how Playmobil make their sets work without splitting things now to "boys" and "girls" sets. Why so hard here? I'd really love to read this "reasearch" tho..
  15. Now that I see how clogged up the first page is with this Friends stuff, the more I realize this should be it's own catagory. This is "Town". I came to this site as I am an avid fan of classic town. Now all I see is talk about these sets in the "Town" catagory when the minidolls don't even go in a "Town" setting. My area must not have any AFOLs here as my Walmart STILL has not sold a set.
  16. Glad the target audience is ready to buy them up for MOCs. My Walmart had them out for 2 days now and not one has sold. I still want to know where they did all of this research. I hear this and that about how awesome these sets are but it just sounds like collectors wanting the parts for themselves. Or they say "their daughter" loves them.
  17. It won't change the minifigs. This is just for the girls line. The "research" they did said girl do not like the regular minifigs.
  18. They do not fit in the Lego city world. They are too cartoony. I'll prob be the only one voting these sets "poor" but oh well. Everyone loves these things for their "daughters".If not for their "daughters", they are buying them just for themselves for parts, which I did not think the "target" audience was.
  19. Ok, yes, 4 wide but how does he get out? No doors? There is just the tiny space between the windscreen and side wall.
  20. That's my biggest problem when reading the "Friends" thread. All talk about "oh look at that piece" and "oh look at that". Everyone went way too overboard with the excitement for all the sets. Now everyone here finally has some issues to these sets. I don't get it. They are marketed for girls and I thought that was to be a good thing but I just get tired of reading how excited people are to buy them for themselves. I guess that means we get to see how many other countless posts of horrendous 6 wide vehicles or modual monstocities.
  21. I have old 9v trains I built from scratch without the track. I figure the new track is cheaper. So, I have an old train like say #4564. Do I have to mod anything? Sorry, I am new to the train tech. I have built many of the older trains but would like to run them.
  22. I read about this part somewhere about it being able to use it with 9v to PF. Question is, if I have a 9v train, what else do I need with this? I would still need to use 9v tracks?
  23. I always wonder the same and have seen it asked but never an answer.
  24. Better than anything you see in those Lego magazines. I swear they publish those kids pics as a joke int the magazines.
  25. Now here's the thing. I talked this line up to about 10 mothers at my job whose kids love Lego. When talking about the early stages, they all were excited. Thier sons had sets and the daughters played with them some but mainly collected the Collectible Minifigures. The parents were excited to ge the girls sets of their own, that tey could play along with their brothers and incorperate the collectible figures that they love into them. When I passed around the pictures of the sets, all the parents were in disgust. I was getting questions I had no idea what to say. "How is girls to play and mix in sons city with figures like THIS?". A lo of the comments I can't say the words that were used. Basically "they look like dung". Seriously, take all your guys' AFOL ideas for pieces o add to your own MOC modular outhouses and city block long semis and think for a second. Boy has so and so sets of his own; girl will have so and so sets TO JOIN IN PLAYING WITH BROTHER; irl gets totally different sets that has no place being side by side with a Ciy Corner. Dont get me wrong, the idea was good. The execution not. MOC's will be loving them tho so be it what it may.
