[MOC] The GHOST from Star Wars: Rebels
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to DarthTwoShedsJackson's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Don't feel bad. I'm glad you're attempting to create an LDD file of the model, so take as long as you need. As for fees: I view LEGO as a hobby and create models for the sheer fun of it, not with the intent to charge a fee from other LEGO fans who'd like to build my models themselves. If GuyDudeMan27 wants to charge a little fee for the LDD file he's creating, that'd be his choice and I don't veto if he chooses to do so. -

If you run into something you cannot for the hell of it figure out, just shout for help here. I visit the forum on an almost daily basis. -
Thanks a lot, I'm glad you like it. And welcome to Eurobricks! As for pictures that might help you building it, have a look here: http://www.eurobrick...ic=101530&st=50 , post #71 Also, user GuyDudeMan27 is in the process of creating a LDD file for the build, but I don't know how far he got with that.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
In a forum dedicated to STAR WARS merchandise and discussing Star Wars toys, the right to spoil weighs more than the right not to be exposed to spoilers. This is the internet. Aside from naughty stuff, as it seems, its purpose is to exchange information, not to go out of ones way not to expose information. -
10179 sold on Dutch auction for €5000
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to Koenta's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Buying LEGO putting it away for solely monetary reasons, namely to make a buck on the aftermarket later, is not comparable to someone who buys LEGOs, is creative with them, and for some reasons decides to sell them later. The intention is totally different, and intention entitles to judgement based on opinion. The concept of making money without actually providing service or creating something value, be it utilitarian in nature, aesthetically or even as a luxury, is despicable to me. -

There are fools galore in the world. This one happens to be a very minor one in comparison to other silly stuff that's going on. That being said, LEGO is at it's core a toy. Using it as an investment or collector's item is a bit strange to me. -

[MOC] The GHOST from Star Wars: Rebels

I'll post one or two pictures of the overall ship tomorrow, if you like. As for how 'easy' it would be to make in LDD - well, hard I guess. Reason is that there are 4 or a few more 'illegal' builds with the framework to which the outer edge builds are attached, as well as with the wedge plating that is angled along two axes. Nothing comes apart, though, and no parts are noticably stressed. The 'illegal' builds are very minor that way - but I suppose they won't work in LDD. Hehe - I did this to avoid any hickups with too many embedded pictures in one post. -
[MOC] The GHOST from Star Wars: Rebels

Here is a bucketload of photographs that should give anyone who wants to rebuild this MOC or something similar the insight needed. Note that this is the latest, most refined version of this MOC, which has received quite a few improvements and even new features along the way, including the large frontal cargo bay in-between the front and rear landing gears. If anybody uses these photographs as a reference to rebuild this MOC or is inspired by them to have his or her own go at this marvelous ship, I'd be happy to see the results here! Enjoy! First of all, a look at the inner structure and framework from many different angles: Building the front landing gear, loading ramp, cargo hold and gun emplacement: Plating on the fin: Rear landing gear and lower hull plating: Front searchlight and sensor encasings: Outer edges of the hull: Upper hull plating: Building the upper hull elements on the long central axis: Front gunner bubble and cockpit canopy: Dorsal gun turret: The main engines: The Phantom with room for a pilot and two normal-sized minifigs with regular head pieces in the back: -
I also prefer the first one. I have a suggestion for one significant improvement, though: Have Ahsoka face some serious foes. I mean, Battle Droids? They are pretty useless, Jedi cut through them like butter... which is what 'genius' George Lucas said himself about them. Wow, now I'm on the edge of my seat. We can't improve the Battle Droids retrospectively, but YOU can improve your great mini-diorama!

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yes, this is a Lego Star Wars rumours and pictures thread. Plain and simple. Still, with a new Star Wars movie about to be released and people getting quite excited about it, I am quite aware that people will post any new tidbits about the new movie even in a thread not directly realted to the movie itsels like this. To some it might be annoying - and rightfully so - but it's unavoidable. If you really want to go to the movie unspoiled, you'd need to steer clear of the world wide web until TFA is out, I'm afraid. I sympathize with your ideal, but it's utterly unrealistic, sadly so propably, with somethig as big as a new Star wars movie. Edit: Aaaaand.....ninja'd by Jedi Bendu. -

Fuppylodders, I can understand your annoyance with not putting facts about the new movie in spoiler tags if you want to go to the movie blank-slated. On the other hand, is it really spoiling the movie for you that the black-robed, obviously bad guy with the red badass lightsaber has a name now? Star Wars is not about the details of the story, but about HOW the story is told, and if the characters, places and situations are interestig and memorable. If a movie like Star Wars fails to draw you in if you knew details like charakter names beforehand, then there is something seriously wrong with the movie. It's Star Wars, not The Usual Suspects! That's just my opinion, though... -

Some heavy, shocking spoilers about TFA I just came across today: Meh, spoilers are just so silly in a coockie-cutter franchise which Star Wars has become... -

Exciting! Did anybody notice that Sabine's hair is coloured differently in Season 2? Call me an old cynic, but I suppose this is done not primarily for artistic reasons, but to milk more money from toy collectors... -

It might sound silly, but there are people who, for example, love to build models of fighter airplanes. There are so many different iterations, but they all have a cockpit, wings, and generally a very similar layout. The same goes for ships. A bit of continuity adds to realism, especially since in the universe of Star Wars it makes sense that the same spaceship manufacturers are involved. So, I really don't get the fuss. Take the X-Wing, for example. It looks the same at first look. But then the starfighter enthusiast realizes that the wings open differently, that the Engines 'split' in half with s-foils in attack position, the nose-cone is longer and the whole thing looks a bit more evolved. That's great. It'd be very strange if the Resistance suddenly had totally different-looking ships only 30 years after the last movie. 30 years is nothing in Star Wars. As for sets: If you buy some car or truck from the Lego City theme, they all have wheels, some cabin for the driver and generally look very similar. Are you complaining about that, too? No offence - you are perfectly entitled to your opinion, but to me it comes across a bit over-the-top opinionated. -
In order to complete my collection of speeder bikes from the show, I had to come up with another teeny weeny build for Sabine's Jumpspeeder which appeared in two episodes of season 1. First, here's an image of the 'real' thing. Obviously, there's no way of getting the angled element with the handle bars at the top and have the minifig legs to either side of it, so the main challenge was to come up with a build tiny enough and close enough to the original look so that it is recocnizable. Here's the build I've come up with: Now I need to find a way to get the Rebel Speeders into the GHOST, at least the two smaller ones - Kanan's and Sabine's. Good thing I've already modified the ship to include the large sliding hatch between the front and rear landing gear into which Chopper flew when he escaped from his sabotage mission on the imperial communications cruiser in the episode before the season finale.

This is a lovely build of my favorite rebel craft back then when I've extensively played X-Wing vs. Tie-Fighter. I'm not a fan of stacked studded plates to achieve a slope, but with a model this size, it actually works. Well done!
-
I even have a plastic one!
-
Ooooops - you're perfectly right. How embarassing. I'll have to solve this later. Regarding my Speeder Bikes from REBELS, here's an exploded look at the not so obvious parts of the respective builds, since it was requested:

Great MOC. I especially like the sloped, curved lower part of the hull. It looks much smoother and less messy than the UCS version. The massively detailed underside is also impressive. Does this MOC have any functions and play features?
-
From experience, I know that AT-RTs are hard to get right, especially in minifig-scale, since they have some complex angles going on that have to be accounted for in a tiny build. Yours captures these angles very well and is small enough to be in scale to minifigs. Great model!

THAT was considered a spoiler? Oh yeah: Here's the final part of a trilogy that shows how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader. But ***SPOILERS!***: Darth Vader is in a scene or two at the end of the movie! People these days...
