Quite a tough choice actually. MOC 1 has a nice primary dropship with some nifty stuff inside MOC 2 has some better secondary models, but these don't fit into the ship as well. I prefer the use of colors on MOC 2, but I'm a sucker for functionality, so my vote goes for MOC 1.

I did! I just had to take it out afterwards so that you could see it completed :-P

I vote for the Airtech Best Set Ever Claw Rig... because it is the best LEGO set... next to 5580 of course ;-) (The claw rig is such a good set for me because not only does the truck have great functionality, it also has a fantastic secondary model) For some reason I feel like you have forgotten an entry in the poll...

Ice cube trays? I have tasted the chocolates that one of our LEGO friends make, and they were actually quite good, so the trays are not completely useless. I'm not a show-off. Gylman is :-P I hope the Millennium Falcon will come in a single bag. On a second thought...

What a strange thing to do. Oh well. The small creator packs should only be with one set in them as well. Or so I thought. It is only the green one you can bag-build: Being creator sets. Why not build the secondary model as well... in the same bag: It was getting late... so I built the third model as well: I have way too much time on my hands...

The entry has been moved to the right thread. I remembered everything... and posted it in the wrong thread :-| (You can see I'm on vacation X-D ). This is a funny contest. I wanted to whack hinckley39, but because I don't have the parts, I choose to take it out on the walrus instead *sweet*

As promised. Whacker: Me. Victim: Sinner. Weapon: lifting mechanism. I hope you don't notice a part being outside the 8x8-plate :-$ I would like to check the "No thanks" option for the Ice Cube tray... just in case X-D

Moved... to the entry thread

Yes. This is a new version of the mobile service station. If you go up a level you can see the two older ones. You can see the previous version here: 2004 version The 2007 version is all new from the ground up as you can see in this picture where the truck is next to the old one and here the trailer is next to the remains of the old one: I'm having the same problem as many others with Brickshelf, but I'm working on getting my own site up and hosting the pictures... and fixing all the direct links in here as well.

The person above me spends way too much time in this thread!... and I think he like pancakes.

Problems with BS / Is BrickShelf no more ???
Lasse D replied to john cleese's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm glad I have a hard-copy of my own pictures, but there were lots and lots of others in there who might not be so fortunate. It would have been a lot better had we been given a warning about this. I have uploaded pictures as late as the day before yesterday and the moderation went swift. As if nothing was wrong. To call BrickShelf a Back bone is really the right word. It was dedicated to LEGO. I have spend many hours just browsing around in there looking at peoples creations. -
Thanks everyone. I can never get enough of positive feedback *sweet* Quite long actually. You see. The two halves of the roof support each other, but you can only open one up at a time if you are alone, so you have to hold one half while folding up the other and that is quite hard because of the way the pillars are made. I choose that form because I like the slim shape, but it is a problem when transforming. When alone it can up to six minutes. It is really a two man job, so a couple of persons can fold out everything in little about two minutes (there are a lot of locks and hinges). It took 3 full days of building the truck. The trailer took an additional 11 days. (I went to an event with LEGO, so it wasn't 11 days straight) Yeah. It does get a little crowded in there. I think I will have to build a smaller car. The tool rag can be moved to get more space and you can use the lift as well, but at least there are open walls and a high roof to help his claustrophobia. > hinckley39 and Sinner I'm never completely happy. If was ever was totally satisfied with a MOC, then I couldn't spend more time building on it and that would make me sad. See? X-D By the way. Can't you whack someone with the lift? An idea is forming here >:-) That would be an idea for a truck, but I think there are already some great MOCs out there doing that perfectly. Such as this *wub* Don't worry about constructive criticism. I can always find lots of things to be improved: - The cabin on the truck should be spring released (this was a cool effect in the old one) - The pull-back motor is getting weak and should be replaced (unfortunately I only have one, so this will have to wait. I will see if I can do something else to make it work more easily) - The function for storing crates in the back is too slow (I have to find a new gearing that fits in) - the pillars are too weak (A 2x2 design would be better. It doesn't change the looks, but I don't have enough hinges to do this yet) - There are some hinges at the Shell-logo that are in strange colors (I will have to replace them as well when I get some new bricks) - The car wash should be pushed a little forwards (This is a result of the compromise between storage space. The crates move all the way back to where the brushes are)

After a couple of weeks of building, I can now finally present the latest version of my Mobile Service Station. During transport it looks like an ordinary highway rig The trailer can transform into a Shell station with fuel pumps, car wash, car shop and a small shop See all the images in the Brickshelf gallery. The Rig The truck itself is 51 studs long (5 shorter than the last version) and weights 1.2kg. I have tried to give it some softer lines and focused on the small details that were ignored in the earlier versions. The engine is a V12 with some discrete chrome details. The interior has both supportive seats, foot pedals and a laptop. The doors open like traditional doors... well, almost. The back folds out giving a couple of rooms: A sleeping room and a kitchen. There are some computer screens in honor of the earlier versions where that was in the trailer. The coupling is new with a better stability and is placed more naturally (The earlier version was as far back as possible) The trailer The station is 97 studs long, weights 3.6kg and is filled with functions. The shop has a red panic-button which makes a screen lift up to protect the shop assistent (spring released like functions in the old West theme). Many functions are controlled from the rear where every of the nine holes power a function. The cargo room stores five crates. The brushes in the car wash are powered by a pull-back motor. The floor is lifted and tool rag pushed to the side in order to give access to the car shop. Please ask if there are functions you would like to know more about. I have tried to cover everything with pictures in the gallery.

I like it. Is it Jeremy Clarkson with a red wig driving that roller? :-P It is a nice grader and dump truck, but I like your paver the most. You rarely see that kind of engineering vehicles in this size of LEGO.

I think it's cool because it reminds me about a movie which I can't remember the name of. It is a Japanese sci-fi where Earth is attacked by aliens (amazing plot) and a person goes back in time to prevent the war (we really haven't seen that before). In a scene there is a harrier jet that transforms into an alien craft/robot and attacks. Does anyone know the title of that movie? It's not Transformers...

OK. Now there's no doubt that the robber has trashed the house X-D Seriously. It's great! ... but what's the story about the minifig that has lost everything but the legs?
-
Well good luck with the exams. I just finished my last today, so I can begin being a little more active. *sweet* FWIK, there isn't any rules that restrict the height of the "plates". But I doubt it would look nice if it became more than about 3 bricks high. Perhaps I should get on with some experiments - one could fit a 9V batterybox in down there... |-/
-
I enjoy your attention to details in this house where there is something beneath all the windows, the small ornaments in the top and especially the use of gray train tracks. The doorway is nice because you have kept the style clean with arches. I look forward to see this next to Marked Street (and perhaps Caf

Those are some nice destructive vigs. Do you know if it's legal for vignettes to have bases that are thicker so that you can add some functions to it? I'm thinking it would be fun if you could make the detonator trigger the wall to actually fall.
-
I have only worked very little with LDD, but I know that there are very few parts to work with, which might be why there isn't much details as noted earlier. When making vigs, I prefer that the message gets slapped right in your face like in a comic strip, and the only real complaint related to this in your vig is that it isn't immediately clear that it is a robber that has trashed the house. You don't have to add a lot of details - that might just clutter everything up. You have already places a letter on the ground. If you added some more of those and placed them as if they have been thrown away while searching or make a painting that is tilted on the wall, I think the message would be clearer. The posture of the minifigs is perfect and the rest of the scene with the single wall and roof is just as it should be in my opinion - it is just the mess that isn't messy enough. I look forward to the final product if you intend on improving on it (I hope this has not scared you away!)
-
Wow. I didn't expect it to fit a whole minifig inside - it looks much slimmer than it probably is in the core. How "posable" is it? Can you turn the cannon a upwards and make it look like it's walking up some stairs or something like that as well? (It appears that you can). I'm thinking like in one of the intros to Ghost in the Shell SAC. I really like this little tank of yours. Well done.

The only ones I own are the Spyrius base and 6971. I prefer 6971 because of the nice design, rocket transport and the small vehicles. There are some of the bricks of mine that are broken (A foot, one of the base plates and one of the 6x6 yellow plates), but it is still one of my favorite old space sets (The best being the M-Tron mega core Magnetizer) The most interesting base has to be 6987. It has some great functionality while I never quite understood the use of the four black pins instead of transparent red ones on 6955. This one actually one of the reason why it didn't gather much interest with me.

Henry Dreyfuss inspired Hudson (Work In Progress)
Lasse D replied to SavaTheAggie's topic in LEGO Town
I really like the smooth design of the engine. The way you have used the holes in the gray bricks to make rails is a great idea, just like the way you have made the front smooth with the light on the tip of the nose. If I should come with an idea for improvement, it should be with the front "shovel" (don't know what the correct term is). The step-pattern seems to be in a different style than the rest. -
Well. They are getting replaced because the new ones are simply easier (cheaper) to mold. On top of that, I think they are stronger as well, but I have to look further into that. The only difference in functionality is that they can not be used in gearings like the old ones. (See the gear boxes in the black supercar and FOS-light space shuttle) >xenologer The old ones did also have the grooves cutout.

A matter of logic, where the golden c3po will be.
Lasse D replied to morris's topic in LEGO Star Wars
We will just have to wait and see :) I will tell if I find one in my Falcon, but the chance is one out of how many? You could also just work for a lot of years at LEGO and receive some gold bricks that way ;)
