I can't remember if I own this particular set. The exhaust brick might be missing, but why are the arms upside down? There is a small "button" on the arm for lifting, but I have never really used it when playing. Thanks for the review, it brought up a lot of confusion

This is one of my favorite town vehicles from the old time, and for one specific reason: The truck is on the guys shirt! It didn't matter that the color was wrong, or the hook was missing. I thought it was awesome beyond imagination... for some reason Thanks for the review Whitefang.

The deer will indeed run away because of the noise. I'm finally back from vacation and here is a new video where I show some issues with this module... and another. I have also made a scissor- and a "chain flow" module, but no vids yet. Only pictures: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=315096

The Euro truck is really nice with cool little details that you might miss at first glance (mud guards, doors and such), but the complex car hauler really outshines it - each car could carry its own thread!

No problem. Yep. They are correct. It is the picture on the box that is a bit off. I had the same thought as you when I built it, but Peeron agrees with the bricks: http://peeron.com/inv/sets/10144-1

This is my favorite thread at the moment. I really love these comparisons and compared a couple of garbage trucks myself a while back. Keep it up! Please It's great! Nostalgia and comparisons might not say anything to young members, but for old and grumpy AFOLs...

I happen to have both the box and the model right next to me, so I should be able to answer your question. The colors on the box are very light. Some of the light gray bricks in the model that are clearly visible are the 1x4 lug bricks on the rear sides. As you can see, these are really light - almost white.

I guess Fabuland is excluded for obvious reasons (Hint: EB...) and Bionicle isn't LEGO - it doesn't fit the system.

Calling this community dead is pretty far off. I still have to find out what exactly happens in the new horizon, but there are still many things, that I do, that belong in this community. This includes City stuff, Fabuland, most reviews, Space (might be moved to Classic Space) and most likely GBC as well. Sure, if the TIE army is what you are mostly interested in, you might not find what you want in here, but I know no other place where you can find so much Fabuland

The problem is that flickr puts a GET-parameter in the url. You can simply remove that. In normal language: Change: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2141/2441327149_d06646b604.jpg?v=0' alt='' class='ipsImage' > to http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2141/2441327149_d06646b604.jpg and you get: And your post will become a lot more user friendly

So. What happened? Fire, military, mayhem... And how did I just do that!?

Never seen the movies? They are epic! This MOC is an excellent 4 studs wide adaption of the Delorean. To put in gull wing doors, flux capacitor and the time machine greeble on the back can't have been easy. I would like to see a picture taken from a higher view point though. I like the returning of 4 studs wide cars. They fit well into the cities.

Here are some advantages that makes ISD win for me: - A lot more fun to build with less repetitions - It is easier to build alternate models from it! (How many alternate models of the DS2 have you seen?) - The bricks are more varied. - You get magnets! - It is a larger set if you look at the size

... or you can just sacrifice your economy for our pleasure and satisfy the communities need for the ide belts on this beast of awesomeness There is a thing I can't really get thought. Why the Mecha Neko decal on the roof of the "MRAMU"?

Thanks for the review KimT - it comes at a... confusing time You can take off the top disk and lift it like the Millennium Falcon from the top Now. I actually don't like this set that much. It takes about 5 hours and 15 minutes to build if you do it in one go, but the repeating sections makes this built the most tedious I have experienced. It has way too many holes from which you can see the colorful skeleton and is overpriced compared to the older 10030 ISD. I remember thinking it was too expensive when it was 50% off at S@H! Even the Snowspeeder was "kewler" to less than half the price:

There is also a bias towards the German drivers on RTL (a German TV station covering all F1 events), but I don't feel it is unbearable. Actually. The insight given by watching this channel makes it my favorite. They even make sure the commercials are as little intrusive as possible by wither having the GP running in a small window while the commercials run, or make sure they are run in safety car periods or similar times. It's a shame I can't watch the channel anymore. The race looks interesting indeed. Trully up on P4!

It has nothing to do with dynamic IP*. You just have to make sure your picture ends with .jpg, .gif or .png. (.bmp has nothing to do on the net) There are some good and thorough tutorials in here made by some of our dedicated members. Try them out. *Dynamic IP is something some ISP choose to give their customers in order to make it harder to set up servers.

With all this talking about how it compares to the MM-set, I would really like to see a comparison between them - with pictures. I have seen the MM-set with 40% off the price, but still felt it was too expensive. If someone would give me the MM-set, I would be glad to make some comparison pictures

I love the high level of details you have put into this little 6 studs wide train. I know another guy who has done it in 8 studs wide, but I prefer the rounded look of your cars. If only LEGO would release this window with smoke glass: Then we would have the ideal IC3 windows.

You are right, and black to boot, so Vader will have to use the force when piloting that thing. So IG-88 is repairing Darth Vader or what is the conclusion?
-
That's a funny little experiment. Do you have any plans on building slightly different/modernized versions or perhaps all the buses built by LEGO? I can see some of those in the background look like the one I know from one of the old ideas book. It would be funny to see the evolution of buses.

With the 1x2x2 panels it should hold a minifig inside. I don't know whether the front is see through from that position though. Which rooms can we see? Please copy and modify the list as we find out more about it - or have better descriptions than mine: Top level - R2D2 stand in the room where they can communicate with the heroes in the garbage contractor (Ep IV) - The conference room where Vader holds some meetings with the officers - Gun towers - IG-88 "fixes" Darth Vader. Is this the transformation scene? Main Level 2 - Final battle with Darth Vader and the Emperor - Hangar - Prison corridor and (with cell and "trap door" so they can fall down into the garbage contractor?) - Main weapon control room Main Level 1 - Garbage contractor - Tractor beam reactor - Hallway with retracting floor - Repair bay with crane? - Unknown room with a wrench? Bottom Level - Halls?
-
As mentioned earlier in this thread, the playset has many of the most well known scenes inside. Garbage contractor from DS1, C3P0 and R2D2 in the room from DS1 and so on. Play value is clearly valued above correctness. Just as I like it

You make it sound like I did something deeply socially deviating... like being an adult playing with LEGO But back on topic. Open the bags? If they were meant to be opened, why did LEGO close them in the first place? Bag building is not for everybody. Some might become very frustrated with it and let their anger out on the set by lining it up on a mini golf course.
