  1. Thank you gentlemen! I really appreciate it. @gyenesvi this question is more for our part designers but in general it makes the build a lot easier

  7. Hello everybody, the magnificent Galaxy Explorer 10497 reignited my passion for old LEGO Space sets. Even though my heart beats for Technic, my very first Lego set was the M:Tron Vector Detector 6877. Since August I enlarged my collection of space sets and in most cases managed to get my hands on some of the sets I only dreamt about when I was a child. Back then I had only 6877, 6878 and 6811. I would like to use this thread for presenting my alternate builds of the LEGO space sets that I acquired in the last months. When I was a kid, I did not have a big collection but I always (to an extent) managed to build what I wanted. Creating alternate builds is one of my big passions and I love working with limited inventories and coming up with new ways and ideas from the same brick. Here is the first of many alternates to come: 6877 Tensor Deflector The model utilises 100% of the parts and features opening cokpit and detachable storage container at the back. The building instructions are part of the video. Happy Building!
  8. Blacktron Dark Hornet is my first alternate build of the LEGO 40580 Blacktron Cruiser. It uses most of the provided parts and thanks to the fuselage modularity offers different flying configurations. The Cockpit section with opening canopy seats the Blacktron minifigure and the robot and has small wings that can be angled when this module flies on its own. The Cargo Hold fits a small flyer, metal detector, camera/bazooka, blaster and a storage box with precious red minerals. The wings that are attached to it can be either swept forwards or extended for a better maneuverability. The third module has rudders/elevators attached to it and two compartments for flares in case the Hornet gets targeted by other space vessels. The last module has the jet thruster attached to it. From the leftover parts you can build a small anti-air gun/transmitting module which can fit the minifigure or the robot. Happy building! https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-134955
  9. Naboo N1 Starfighter is my 28th alternate build of the lego 42117 Race Plane. The model features retractable landing gear, rotating astromech droid head and a climbing ladder. Happy Building! https://www.instagram.com/p/CoDBbyPNxG4/
  10. The Sea Turtle is my 27th alternate build of the LEGO Technic 42117 Race Plane. It was created already in January 2022 during filming LEGO Masters. The idea for the model came from one of the guest judges Přemek Forejt. The model features synchronised movement of the front legs and the head. The hind legs and tail are poseable as well.
  11. Thank you very much Jim. The model I spent several months redesigning until its final form did not catch much attention. How about something that I put together in less than a minute?
  12. Thank you very much @astyanax In the meantime this monster is finally done. The Dropship measures: Length 52.5 cm, Width 54 cm, Height 17cm. This model is an alternate build of the LEGO Technic 42138 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 and features two pullback motors with ratcheting mechanism and launcher (tail) for extreme speeds and fun. The mouth of the dinosaur can be opened, the front paws are poseable and the tail has two positions - up (ratcheting mechanism engaged), down (release or just a regular pullback vehicle mode).
  17. BUTTERFLY WITH FLOWER is my 21st alternate model of the LEGO Technic 42117 Race Plane. The Butterfly features a synchronized wing flapping mechanism and is attached to the base of the model together with a flower that completes the scene. The butterfly wings can be locked in an open position in case the friction in the pins is not high enough to hold them.
  18. FROG is my 20th alternate model of the LEGO Technic 42117 Race Plane. The Frog has opening mouth moved by pushing the gearwheel at the back. You can extend the hind legs of the frog. The front ones are locked for stable pose.
  19. REINDEER is my 25th alternate model of the LEGO Technic 42117 Race Plane. The Reindeer has poseable hind legs and antlers and its head can be rotated by rotating its tail. The drivetrain does not need synchronization since the head is attached on a friction pin.

The elbows and hands can be moved, the head tilted from side to side. The RC Plane and the transmitter can be removed from the hands. This model is my first attempt at humanoid from this set.
  21. HYDROPLANE is my 18th alternate build of the LEGO Technic 42117 Race Plane. The Hydroplane has a spinning propeller in the back powered by the rear wheels, angled cockpit section and oversized engine with side exhausts.
