You forgot to check the ceiling look up and make sure there aren't any overhangs over the alley that you could poke with a spear or staff.

I'll probably just pick the one with the best reward, then. I don't think Docken really feels any connection or lack of a connection to any NPC that would help him decide. His in-universe goal is to min-max just as my goal as a player is, so he (I) is not going to pick an NPC to work for without considering the reward just because he likes the NPC. That being said, I've never seen a story arc of quests through to its finish as a player, and that's something I want to do more of, both with Guffington and with Bluto.
-
Uh oh. I'd better go on Guffington 2, then. I'll probably sign up for both and let you decide.

Yeah, Quest 48 passed Quest 4 a long time ago. Quest 17 was longer than Quest 4, by the way. (And if the Dastan final battle's pages are added, Quest 31 was longer than Quest 17) Quest 48 is far and away the longest though. It can get confusing because we're used to thinking of Quests 17 and 31 as almost a hundred pages long, but there was the board upgrade after that that changed the default amount of posts per page from 15 to 25.

That's probably true; I was just giving a possible explanation for what could be a record for most Gold earned in one quest.
-
When you're on a quest with three bosses and 120+ pages of mostly battles, you have lots of chances to earn Gold.
-
No, Lucky only affects the battle die rolls. All other "chance of x" rolls aren't affected.
-
Yeah, I have the same problem. I always think that it would be prudent to buy a couple buffing consumables and restock on Grand Potions, but then I don't usually have a lot of Gold and tell myself that I can stay alive long enough to make do with whatever I pick up in quests.

I don't think there's ever been a hero Docken's interacted with which I think Docken would think of as anything other than (Lawful/Chaotic/Neutral) Good or (Lawful/Chaotic) Neutral. Not as a decision to roleplay how he perceives other PCs in-universe, but just as my observation of how I think Docken would consider the other heroes.

Yeah, it was 75% off in Canada and 25% off in the rest of the world. And yes, there have been plenty of discounted sets before. FBTB always does a nice writeup; you can see that last year, the big discounts were 20% off of the UCS SSD and 20% off of the UCS Shuttle, with a bunch of other items at 10% off.

This is a sort of tabletop RPG. There's no such thing as an unnecessarily complicated explanation to justify the existence of a good piece of equipment.

Oh, and in regards to switching weapons after your Turn because it doesn't take a Turn, I would say that it doesn't take a Turn to switch weapons before you attack because you can do both in one swift action while attacking. Like drawing a sword and slashing with it in the same motion, or whipping an arrow out of a quiver and drawing it back with the bowstring and firing in the same 'C'-shaped motion*. You can do that and attack at the same time because the weapons switching is a part of the attack during your Turn. You can't do that after your Turn(s) is/are over because you have no Turns left during which to perform an action which the weapons switching can be a part of. *Historically inaccurate? Maybe, I have no idea. But I watched the elves in Lord of the Rings.

Any weapon that provides SP has to be a weapon that you can also block with...like a lightsaber.* If you do anything other than attack with the weapon**, then you're either not using the weapon or not devoting enough attention to the use of the weapon to be able to reliably block anything, so you can't be blocking with it. (And thus you don't get the SP.) If that's too OP, it could be nerfed/balanced by making all SP-providing weapons prevent the use of a shield. *Blasters should work, too, but the GM didn't seem to like that idea. **It could be argued that the action "I do nothing while holding my weapon in front of me" would also work; you're using the weapon with your action, so you would be able to block, you're just not attacking anyone. Up the QM, I guess. I would say that you would get the bonus, sacrificing the ability to do Damage in order to gain the SP without risking rolling something bad.

"I do not remember seeing him before. He must have joined Heroica while I was away in the Fields. Although I have not looked in the Heroes' Gallery in a while, and I don't usually spend a lot of time interacting with or observing the heroes who I do not know, so I could be wrong."
-
"I haven't traveled far from Eubric, actually. After we saved Master Guffington, I waited around the Hall for a while, as I had trades to make. However, the heroes I was looking for didn't show up, so I took a party to the Fields of Glory. Master Rone was a part of that party, and he wanted to return, saying that he had heard a party was being put together to take down Lady Wren. Myself, I went back to the Fields. Got back just before you did."
-
But you figured out the loophole that no one else noticed.

"Impressive...most impressive"Sandy has taught you well. You have controlled your fear. Now release your anger. Only your hatred can destroy Heroica's enemies." "You underestimate the power of the dark side. If you will not torture the prisoner, then you will meet your destiny."*wvooom!*
-
That would actually be better if he was using a Sapphire. (Best element I can think of for choking someone with no visible force.)"...blah blah blah Heroica is made up of villains blah blah blah..." "I find your lack of faith in Heroica disturbing." "ack! echhhh!" *wheeze* Alternatively, with the Topaz, he could have gone with, "Power! Unlimited power!" *kzzzt! kzzztzzktzzz!* But that would be from Revenge of the Sith, not Jedi, so obviously it wouldn't be as good.
-
No! You had him lying in front of you and the lightning crackling from your fingers. Missed opportunity to say, "Young fool... Only now, at the end, do you understand. Your feeble skills are no match for the power of Heroica. Now you will pay the price for your lack of vision." *kzzzt! kzzztzzktzzz!*
-
Yes, another famous quote adapted to Heroica! Oh, wait, that was from Attack of the Clones. It doesn't count. We all know we hate that one.

"It was a bounty hunter...called..."*fffftz* The Ambush Leader twitches. He blinks in surprise and dies. Thalion looks down at the Ambush Leader. He touches his neck and pulls out a small, wicked-looking dart. "Toxic dart..."

"Good to see you, too, Master Hybros. Versatility, that is why I would like to have a second shield in reserve. I have no plans to get rid of my current one for anything less than 1700 Gold, but it is not a bad idea to have a second one, both to lend to heroes on quests who can make use of it and for eventual upgrades to be more powerful than my current one."
-
Looking over at the table I spot a Turtle Shell Shield. "Master Hybros, if you plan to sell those items and split the Gold, I'll offer you 100 Gold for that shield, 55 Gold more than you'd get from Anwyl."

Done!
