  1. I've only hosted 2, so I may not be the best to say but I'll give my opinion. It's both. You get experience and learn the mechanics to where you don't always have to look back at the class pages to know what is what for what character/class. You learn to get a knack for dialogue, storytelling, etc. Things become simpler and it's great t have other QMs in your quest. It does get harder though. I don't think between QMs, but individually. I think as the game has gone on, QMs (generally) want to make their next quest bigger and better and more involved than their previous one. I know I'm guilty of it. So eventually it seems like, well where do we go after Quest XYZ where we fought Bad Guy 123 and saved Princess ABC? Especially in the quests with arcs. It's ourselves putting the pressure on ourselves to make a more difficult quest because we hope it will engage the players. Just my thoughts.
  2. 1) Have you played mafia before and/or have you graduated from a mafia school? Yes, I've been in quite a few games, just not in awhile. 2) Will you be available for the duration of the game? Well of course. There are scum to catch after all... or townies to kill... whichever you prefer. 3) Let's say in a totally hypothetical situation that's not going to be used when assigning you a character of course that you wanted to open a store. What would that store be and why? Gun store. Or a sword shop. Or a film store. Why? Someone has to keep the masses in check with entertainment. You pick which one is entertainment... 4) Defiantly or definitely? Depends on the situation. But I would definitely stand defiantly, that's the definitive version. 5) Please write a sixty page dissertation on the theory of mafia games. Would a sixty page film script work? With guns, swords and people standing defiantly? 6) That last one is a joke, please don't do that. You sure? You definitely sure?
  3. "Something tells me you need a break, Pretzel," Kiray says as she repeats.
  4. "He doesn't even quest here."
  5. "Thanks for that," Kiray says as she stands. She repeats.
  6. That's a reference, isn't it?
  7. "You may not be Ennoc, but you serve him," Kiray replies. "It is your duty to protect people, and to protect your order from evil influences like Bella, not matter the cost. Standing by and doing nothing as a maniacal woman runs loose is just as bad as actually committing the crimes. Thank you for letting us get an herb for my companion here."
  8. Kiray moves to help steady Pretzel. She looks at Abel, preparing to be as diplomatic as she could. "Abel, we have Bella's ashes right here. There was something in her. None of us are mages, so something had to burn her. There's no way we could have built a pyre this fast. She was an evil woman who rose to power and corrupted a powerful organization. There's a lot at stake right now."
  9. Welcome back, Endgame. Glad to hear that you're ok.
  10. Kiray nods. "Avery," she whispers, "get back here."
  11. "Avery, do you think you could assassinate him without alerting anyone else?" Kiray whispers. She takes a defensive stance, just in case.
  12. "When I was a little girl, before my mother was murdered, we found a stray in our town. So my mother and I took her in. And of course I just had to be allergic. My face became all puffy. We actually needed to call in a cleric from the neighboring town to help me. I'm much less allergic to rabbits, if you would like to know."
  13. Kiray nods at Samuel's directions. She makes her way over to Yu Shu. "You may be able to stand, but you'll need help to walk so we can get out of here before we're discovered. The faster we all move the faster our mission is completed." She pulls Yu Shu's free arm over her shoulder, some stray hairs from the were-lion scratching her face. "I'm allergic to feline-creatures. If I sneeze I apologize."
  14. Kiray accepts the loot and does as stated. "Do you want me to carry you on my back, Yu Shu?" the knight asks the paladin. She directs her gaze to Pretzel. "Good work out there. Let's move though."
  15. I agree with Myrddyn, that we should have a google doc or such to avoid clutter. I've got some ideas for mechanics that I can go into more depth in there.
  16. I say if this does happen, limit the base classes, and the advanced ones still have open so people can choose. Also, maybe make faction-based classes a bit more of a thing that really factor in to the game.
  17. I do, too. But I would love a space one as well. I want both simultaneously
  18. Nice ideas there, CMP. Food for thought: there's bound to be someone who wants to use a flamethrower. Could it be Plasma damage, Ballistic damage, and then elemental damage? So say someone isn't exactly shooting out ice, but they cause cold damage, etc.
  19. I'm down to play just based off that logo. Really nice job, Khorne. I'd be interested to see if people made characters similar to their Heroes or not as well. And no, needs more lens flare.
  20. There was something pre-Heroica wasn't there? I definitely understand the commitment needed as well, not that I'm saying I'm thinking of running it, I know we all have real world duties to attend to and it just shows how great of a job you've done, Sandy, to keep Heroica going for so long. For that last bit, would you hand off HRPG to someone else or would we just kind of end it? Just wondering, is all.
  21. We could do a mix. Maybe run a poll to see the top four LEGO-made factions and then make others to inhabit the universe.
  22. Heroica RPG: Glory Among the Stars I'm of the faction that if we could keep both running simultaneously, that would be awesome. Just comes down to who has time to do it.
