  1. Looks like this Yu-Gi-Oh challenge is the new Dungeons and Dragons-esque challenge. I'm curious to see how many people enter; I know I'll do at least one (maybe more if rules allow). I haven't thought about this IP in years.
  2. This is what happens when I look at Wikipedia when I try to build Thank you! And yes, definitely a not fun situation for all around! Thanks! Where they are there is a slight alcove, but you're right, I probably could have made it more pronounced.
  3. In 1184, King Henry VI of The Holy Roman Empire called a meeting in the city or Erfurt. There they met in a two story building, but unbeknownst to them, the floors were rotted and gave way. As people crashed to the ground floor, they fell through that as well and into a hidden cesspit. Henry VI and Archbishop Conrad survived by merely being in an alcove as the floor fell, and they had to await their rescue. It's estimated around sixty people died in this accident, some being crushed by the weight of the others, the floor, and even drowning in a pool of feces. "I wonder that that massive crash could be." This was a relatively quick design, that came together over the course of two or three days. I love medieval history, and this was just a weird piece of history that I was surprised had not been made into a MOC yet, or at least I haven't found another one yet. I started with building the base and keeping the center hollow so I knew where the cesspit would be, and then I built up. As this is a dark but also somewhat humorous piece of history, I wanted to have a little levity with the minifigures on the ground floor, such as the man opening the door to the building or how the minifigures that had fallen were reacting. I do want to flag that the chandelier is a slight recolor of ErtmanB's chandelier; I changed the flames to give the lighting effect in Studio and changed the flower on the base of the chandelier to gold. It was just too well done in Stud.io to try to figure out how to build it! Enjoy! Comments and criticism are always welcome!
  4. Great work! I love the use of colors in this one.
  5. "Will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest?" King Henry II of England was reported to say, leading to the assassination of Thomas Becket, the Archbishop of Canterbury. On December 29, 1170, four knights assassinated Becket inside the church. After his death, his legacy lived on in cults, paintings, stained glass, and even plays and films, with him being canonized a saint in 1173 and having his feast day on December 29. I wanted to make a small (ok maybe this is more medium) vignette for this one, and I had a fun time figbarfing for this. The new-ish Lion Knight torsos are perfect for English knights, and I used the CMF Mushroom Sprite torso for Becket. As the Canterbury Cathedral was Catholic at the time, I wanted to try to keep it in line with how it may have looked regarding the altar and railings where parishioners would go up for communion. I understand the actual cathedral is not designed like this, and Becket is reported to have grabbed onto a pillar as he was killed, but having the tabernacle, and altar felt important to include for this MOC. According to some pictures on Wikipedia I saw of the catherdral and where he was killed, it looked to have some hallways leading behind, so I felt it was appropriate to have those off to the sides of the altar, and it allowed me to have two clerics there as well. It's said that while most monks fled, one stayed behind to help the knights complete their grisly task. Enjoy! Comments & criticism always welcome!
  6. Thanks! It's a fun settlement to build in and try to back in NOLA/Louisianan influences that are slightly anachronistic in the real world into this. And thanks for the suggestion on the cobblestone; I never know if I'm going far enough on those, so next build will definitely have more variety.
  7. Thank you! It took some experimentation to get what I wanted especially regarding furniture placement, but I quickly realized with the curtains in the way, and where the doors were, it would be hard to add more furniture. Ah that's why Sea Rats deals go in their favor!
  8. Hugo the Architect had set up his home in Nouvea Oleandia, looking for new prospects and buildings to design as the colony had been growing. Once his house was built, he found it was ready to take meetings with important officials, pitching them to hire him for whatever new project they might want, be it here on Crocodile Island or in other locations. Let's see if he makes the sale! Moving to the inside, we can see part of his house. On the first floor is a sitting room, and the second has his drafting table. The guest seems not thrilled at the moment. Perhaps he needs wine! I didn't want to make a full mansion, but wanted to show part of the elegance a house in Nouveau Oleandia might have, inspired heavily by the exterior of this Italianate Victorian here. The table for cartography was taken from Marin Brick Design's Cartography table, with a little less accoutrements. Enjoy!
  9. Great work! I love the color scheme and the angular design. I really like how you shaped those thrusters.
  10. Congrats to the winners and also great builds from everyone who participated! There were lots of cool factions created for this one!
  11. I'm of the same mind. Sure there is a non-zero chance I'll put something on the platform eventually, and I've met a few people who have had their sets picked and made and are very nice people. But oh man, there's just too much of it now. Etiquette like you said is lost for it, but I think that's just the loss of internet etiquette in general. Funny how when the internet was much more anonymous it seemed (maybe this isn't true and rose-tinted glasses and all) a bit more... polite? That's a discussion for a different board/topic though. But I agree, there is so much of just spamming in other places just barely related to the MOC at hand or constant posting of the same thing. We see it here on EB as well sometimes when people just drop the link to Ideas and don't engage with the community. Agree with you both here. It's like the fun aspect of building has been lost. Not every MOC needs to be submitted to Ideas or anything. Sometimes it's ok just to build something for the fun of it and share it with people.
  12. I like it! It's a very clean build. Any photos of the roof off to see inside?
  13. Thanks!
  14. Thanks! I wanted to go for muted, but not to muted, you know?
  15. So, 146 projects have qualified for the second 2025 review. That's a ton.
  16. Those spammers are back in the general subforum.
  17. Thanks! It definitely swooshes nicely.
  18. They're gonna make him an offer he can't refuse!
  19. Thanks! It was fun seeing what random stuff I had for this one.
  20. Thanks! I knew it was important to keep the Italian theme with the pizza, and it helped because I was worried that without it, it's a Christmas speeder.
  21. The M4R1N-Aura Speeder is the fastest small vehicle in Itali-tron's fleet. It's a perfect personal pizza size for Italitronauts to traverse the galaxy. And in case one runs into any problems, blasters are equipped to the front of the vehicle. Pizza thrusters allow the ship to reach incredibly high temperatures speeds. Enjoy!
