Did you know that the books make no mention of the deerstalker? But everyone thinks they do. It's actually just the films/TV. And surely everyone knows this, Holmes was a Crack addict.

I love the ladder in the N1. A black fence! :-D Seriously though, it's a good idea. The Vulture Droid looks quite good, I like the Security Officer and Anakin's OK too. The N1 is pretty sleek too. The Sith Infiltrator is still a bit rubbish, but it looks better out of the box than it does on the box. The bike's a bit small though. Nice... but small. The TIE Crawler is nice. It's good to be getting some EU stuff. Here's hoping for some Coralskippers ;-) The black Stormies are *y* The Jedi Starfighter is great. Need I say more? Kit Fisto seems good despite his face lookind oddly... creepy, and I'm a big fan of Dark Blue anyway. I like the design of the Hyperdrive Ring, but it's a pity there doesn't appear to be any printing on the Astromech dome. Although, technically, the lack of printing makes it a not-quite-an-Astromech dome.

New pics from Amazon. I don't think these have been posted. 7991 7990 7997 7998 7994 7992 7907 The recycling truck is just *wub* . The dump truck is pretty good too, although I don't really see the point of the trailer/second tipper. I think it looks OK without. The Christmas tree in the Advent Calender looks a bit crap though. And I quite like the look of the crane-thing for the harbour.

I'm sure that ferris wheel is tilting/leaning to one side. Isn't that a safety hazard?

The Astro Fighter's still great! I like the shuttle in the base, but unfortunately not the base itself. And is that a jetpack I see one of the astronauts wearing in the base pictures? I think it is! A very bulky jetpack for flight, and clearly not an oxygen tank, but a jetpack nonetheless. I love the way the trike is airtight. ;-) Actually, it is airtight... for the alien. Who lives on Mars, and can probably breathe there anyway. Whereas the driver (who presumably cannot breathe on Mars) gets an all but open cockpit. *wacko* So, I'll definately get one if not a few of the MX-11 Astro Fighter, and maybe the dropship and the drilling rig, which isn't shown here. Perhaps because of its 'limited edition' nature. Actually, the wheeled mech-type-thing isn't here either.

I think I'll probably get the two smaller sets, and maybe the Wizard's Tower. The new female hairpiece is great. Sadly, the only set with the bow and arrow/quiver is the large castle. Can I really justify buying a large set for a few pieces? No, sadly.

I like the Blue Bat too. Kind of 'Batman and Son' style. Maybe the money is a new design. The Scarecrow plane is great, especially the fear gas bombs and such. I love the new bike, but I'll probably remove the guns and have just a plain bike. The Bat-tank's not bad either, but I'm not over-keen on the Batcopter. It's not bad, but something just doesn't look quite right to me. It might become obvious when I get it. The Riddler probably shouldn't have a gun, since he doesn't really kill. Ah well, easy to fix. Unfortunately, this means I'm going to have to adjust my Batcave shelf again.

I spent a whole day yesterday singing 'Daniel.' Quietly of course. Much to the amusement of some no doubt. I then spent today singing 'Here comes the sun.' I'm kind of the odd one out with music. Most of my friends like all this hardcore rock stuff, from band I've never heard of. Whereas I tend to like older music. Modern Classics, that sort of thing. I get a bit of ribbing about it sometimes, but so what.

Pity it hasn't though. The spotlight look pretty good too, and I'll probably try to find the TPB when it comes out. Especially since Shockwave's there. I think I might also look for the IDW reissue War Within series. I'd like to get a look at the designs if nothing else. Although I would like to read the stories as well.

And what with the film coming out, I can guess lots of people will want to read it either before or after they see it. Its about the Battle of Thermopyle isn't it?

It doesn't have to be, no.

Spinning out of the 'favourite books/novels' thread, this is a place to discuss comics. Recent purchases, artists, story arcs, new releases, etc. I've been collecting some of the UK Collectors Editions for a short while now. I collected Batman Legends (vol 1) from #6 to the end at #41, and (vol 2) from #1 to now (#4 out next Thurs). Quite enjoying the current crop in (vol 2), with All-Star Batman and Robin, Batman and Son and Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, especially as Ed McGuiness and Andy Kubert favourite arists of mine. I also collect Fantastic Four Adventures and Avengers United. I started FFA at #19 (got #23 today) and AU at #75 for Avengers: Dissassembled (got #77 today). FFA has been great, seeing as Mike Wieringo is another of my favourite artists (his art is just *wub* ). Not yet had chance to read his last FF story, 'Tag' in #23, but no doubt I'll find time later. Looks pretty good from what I've seen. I bought 'Infinite Crisis' the other month. Wow! I hope to buy 'Civil War' as well when I find it. I've never really bought TPBs, but now I've found Borders here in the UK, I intend to buy lots more. I walked in to the one in York last year and thought 8-

So, knowing that there are a few other Transformers fans here, I suggest that we can talk about them here. Toys, comics, the movie, whatever. I read Infiltration recently. Nice! The new designs are great, especially Ratchet/Ironhide. The legs kind of remind me of an interim stage between classic box-legs and new movie-legs. I think I may have to try and find it in my bookshop (I borrowed it from the library), and I'm waiting with baited breath for Escalation and Devastation. Have you heard about the Transformers/Avengers crossover. Wow! I'm gonna have to read that. The movie's really gearing up as well. It looks so good. The movie designs look great, especially Ratchet. Yes, Ratchet is one of my favourite characters, besides Shockwave.

Like who? Or what? (Whatever...)

Batman Begins came out in 2005. Lego Batman was 2006. Probably why.

I was just looking through the production notes on the website, and remembered about the Veyron vs light aircraft episode. Oh, May's endless pre-flight checks.
-
Was he going too fast to see anyone (showing off) or is he just an idiot? It crashed with an Astra too :-D Talk about different. I says it's thought to be one of 12 here in Britain.
-
I loved that! If I can think of any more, I'll post them. We should get a few more 'best of' shows in the interim between series, if last year was anything to go by. The Team :-D And, I've just found this. Did you notice the Billy-Bob on the end credits? Every name.
-
Don't forget the Amphi-cars. The Toy(b)o(a)ta :-D And May actually won a challenge. Albeit because of Clarkson's over-eagerness.

Yeah, my dad's a fan too. And he's 48.

All 5. I own the trilogy of 4, and I borrowed the 5th from my library. I didn't mind the 4th. It wasn't great, but it wasn't too bad. I kind of thought the 5th spoilt the end established in the 4th. Ah well. Although I did like the conclusion to the running joke with the deaths of... oh, I've forgotten his name. It began with 'A' I think. It barely costs me anything to quench my craving since I borrow a load from my library. I only buy the odd few. 'Infinite Crisis', 'Fantastic Four:Unthinkable' (I love Wieringo's art *wub* ) and a few others are ones I own, and ther're a few others I'm going to buy eventually. $270!? 8-

I was waiting for a thread on this. I watched the first double bill, which (even though I'm 16) I thought was brill. I've not had chance to watch the others yet, but my sister's been taping them to keep, so I'm sure I can find time. We all sat down on Monday night to watch it. :-D
