Bear in mind though that if you single out non-traditional stuff like this, you effectively discount things like the clothes and the maquette statues as well. And the ice-cube tray. I love that.

I don't think I recall him either. So I'll cheat... Kremzeek 1 Kremzeek 2 (Both are Wiki links.) MP Megs looks nice. His cannon looks a bit oversized in robot mode, but any smaller and it would look too small in gun mode, so I can accept that. Kremzeek is nice even though no-one know who he is. ;-) The Energon mace is wonderful! *wub*

"Veni Vidi Vici" (I came, I saw, I conquered) "Quis Custodiet Ipsos Custodes?" (Who will guard the guards?) Could someone help me out with the sources please.

Thanks. I don't think I've built a proper fighter before, so when I approached this I thought of making it organic. I think I was intrigued by the idea while looking at another organic fighter (not Lego). I forget what it was, but it might have been a Yuuzhan Vong Coralskipper from Star Wars. EDIT: OK, since Optimax says he's decided to go (in his sig), we may need someone else to decide when we close this contest in case he sticks to his word and doesn't come back. I think we should find out what other people think, so as not to close this before anyone wants. One idea is to stick to what Optimax said originally and to keep this open for 5 weeks. Voting would therefore cease on 7th May. Is this too long? I don't want this to sound like I'm jumping the gun and hi-jacking Optimax's contest, but if he is gone we need to plan.

Let's be honest, if you start to venture into other superheroes, you really have to go all out and do everyone major. I suppose you could kind of do a DC line and (wishful thinking) a Marvel line, and do maybe one or two sets per character, maybe with battle packs as well, covering major heroes and villains. For example, for DC: Superman vs. Lex Luthor Justice League watchtower (include a few villains) Titans Tower (include a few villains) Wonder Woman vs Cheetah Green Lantern vs Sinestro Superman/Batman vs Batzarro/Bizarro (I *wub* Bizarro) etc. And for Marvel: Avengers Mansion (or Tower) Iron Man vs Mandarin Baxter Buyilding (with Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom) Ghost Rider vs a few demons Xavier Institute Spiderman vs Venom/Carnage etc. Obviously, they're just quick lists to give you an idea. I would really love to see a Justice League (in fact, with the proposed film you never know) and the Fantastic Four. Invisible Woman in Lego... *wub*

Notice on the figure on the right how the hands are new brown while the body and head are old brown. So yeah, probably a custom.

As far as mixed slopes are concerned, I find that a compromise is to build as symetrically as possible. Cluster 'bumpy' slopes together and 'smooth' slopes together. Or build so that, for example, the 'smooth' slope is in the middle of the 'bumpy' slopes. In fact, the smooth slopes keep stickers on better than the bumpy ones. I don't personally mind the change. I'd prefer that they wouldn't be mixed, but really I'll just count my blessings and settle for what I get.

I don't get it. BTW, I like your Impossible Man isamu. *y*

Why, what did Lego do? Anyway, I quite like the simplicity of it all. Not too overcomplicated. Might I suggest though that you rebuild it in scale with the cars. You don't have to of course, but the figs look really big next to the cars.

I'd say that it's the arm that looks flimsy rather than the actual drill. I dunno, the sides don't look that bad to me. It gives it a sort of rugged look. But only time will tell.

I see you've really gone to town with the inter-connectivity/module thing. Or rather, "I see you've really gone to city with the whole inter-connectivity/module thing. Anyhow though, this is pretty good. *y* I like the GCI mech. Nice balance of gold and otherwise. The monorail car is kind of cute.

What other colours would you want lego bricks in?
Brainbox replied to Optimax X's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Actually, I just couldn't think of any colours off the top of my head. -
New pic of the Armoured Drilling Rig here. It looks shorter than expected. And unfortunately we can't see the detatchable ship and bike properly because the whole appendage is tilted back. But from what I can make out, it looks pretty good. The alien fighter looks a bit flimsy though. Either that or it's going for the 'nimble' idea.

There I was, casually scrolling down the page, minding my own business (buzz-ness? ;-) ) only to be confronted with this! Scared the hell out of me (I don't like upclose pics of insects).

I saw those the other day on the Internet. They look amazing, let's be frank. That bit where Starscream flys under the bridge (or whatever), transforms and lands on top! *wub* I think I may have pointed that out earlier. No worries though. ;-)

Not to be picky, but Sithcookie and Legofreak appear to have vanished. Sithcookie was last active on the 14th June 2005, and Legofreak on the 12th May 2006. Still, that's no reason not to wish them many elated happy birthdays.

They decided that yellow was multi-national, rather than being white. That's why fleshies were brought in. Adding character like Lando and Mace Windu with a dark head would make the company look discriminatory because it would make yellow equal white. Which is why we only get 'coloured' figs in licence sets.

Yeah, that's what we were saying. It seems like a fishy title... Almost as if it's trying to make a point, and then break it down.

Episode 4 and 5. It's actually 1930s Manhattan. 'Daleks in Manhattan' and 'Evolution of the Daleks.' *wub* If you want some more info on Mr Saxon, look on Wikipedia. It notes that Mr Saxon is an anagram of 'Master no. six' Hmm...

The man on the advert was Professor Lazarus (as in, rose from the dead Lazarus). That's why the episode is called 'The Lazarus Experiment.' However, Radio Times says that the 'paymaster' of Lazarus is the plot arc. Obviously that's Mr Saxon. You forget, the Master's a Time Lord. As in, he can regenerate. However, I do accept that it'd be pretty difficult to escape from the TARDIS' Eye of Harmony. I watch Torchwood. I think it's pretty good. I particularly liked the cliffhanger at the end. That's presumably how Jack ends up in the TARDIS in episode 11, 'Utopia.'

Forgot to say thanks. :-$ So, thanks. :-P

I wouldn't say no to more purple. I like the more obscure colours. Nice as the base colours are, the obscure ones just add that touch of originality to a MOC/collection. More turquoise wouldn't go amiss either. How about more metallic colours. For example, bronze (a Dalek?), metallic blue and mettalic red. Although, they'd probably cost a bit. -
You're correct about Mr Saxon. That's what I meant. (It was also mentioned by the tank driver in The Runaway Bride). I think Saxon is running for Prime Minister in the Doctor Who Universe (Whoniverse? ;-) ) Boe's secret? It's gotta be the Master. >:-)

:-| I'm surprised by how much of the French I can actually understand here. Still, I suppose it puts me in a mind for my GCSE French Speaking (8/9 May). Anywho, welcome to EB.
