DC Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussions

I've been keeping an eye out here in West Virginia, since the Nightwing and Riddler Chase sets started popping up in Wal-Mart around this time of year last year. No luck so far. -

Comicbook.com is reporting that Loki could have a new scepter based on the piece they're using in these sets. Gotta admit, I laughed. Figured by now we'd get an accurate piece for that thing, though. -

Yes!! Vision looks a little eh. Probably better in person. Hawkeye's got a new hairpiece and looks super frickin cool. Would love to see Cap in a higher quality photo. That Hulk is killer!! Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch both look wicked, although they used the wrong hair for Wanda. Glad to see Black Widow with new hair. Perhaps I can actually get her this time around. Thor looks like Thor. Iron Man looks insanely BA, and his various drones will help with some purist suits. Ultron is neat, but it's hard to tell anything from here. -

The cloth just doesn't look quite as clean as the old capes. Maybe if the fabric was thinner and wasn't so fragile (they look like you could pull them apart string by string) I'd be more okay with it. The lack of a new Supes is really lame, especially since it's the same one that's in the Javelin. I needed a second Superman torso for a custom '90s Superboy figure, but I don't need two for sure. Crossing my fingers for a Bizarro set with New 52 Superman and Guy Gardner -
The belt is printed on, how could he change it?

The capes in the Brainiac set are cloth, too, and there's no vehicle in there for them in that set. I'd say that's the new normal. I'm not totally on board with it either, though. The cloth capes don't look quite as good. -

I could go for more Battle Packs. Some Joker goons, Parademons, and Lexcorp bots from DC, Ultron drones and some SHIELD agents from Marvel. Heck, why not one with just 3 or 4 copies of a minifig like Mirror Master or Multiplex that can clone themselves? With all of the goons they try to shove into sets, they might as well go all-out with them. -
Such an excellent Atom! Really wish I had a spare Captain America for that!

No, this information came up after that. We're talking discussions round 2. Green Arrow was an exclusive that same year, though, and we're getting that figure. Why not a general release version of the ASM2 suit? -

Looks like Batman's suffering from Captain America syndrome. :/ That "Invisible Jet" is just an Invisible Ship in Lego Batman 3. Could this mean that we could get the actual Invisible Jet at some point? -

So Spider-Man is still on the table for Civil War. Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but Sony China(?) wants to renegotiate to get ol' Webhead in there. I'm hoping they do, because at the moment, since Spider-Man's off in his own universe, Amazing Spider-Man 2 has killed the franchise, but if he were part of the MCU then it would just be a weak movie in an otherwise pretty fantastic franchise. It would also mean we could get a cinematic Spidey figure! -

Mera's neat I guess. Kinda makes me want Aqualad even more. Definitely makes me wish there was a hub world in Atlantis. -

You've got the Grodd set? Tell me, does the banana truck driver have a second face? If he does, do you think you could put his head and hair on Flash's torso? I wanna see how it looks. -

I'd say there's a final costume for them that they don't want anyone to see until after the movie comes out. -

Oh no, they could. They've done it for the past waves, they could've done it again. Plus Gorilla Grodd could've easily been teamed up with any number of other villains, or skipped over entirely. It would've been just as easy to make a set with Solomon Grundy and Killer Frost. Plus the banana truck driver has a head and hairpiece perfect for Grant Gustin's Flash. Not to mention, the Flash's two most hyped villains are Grodd and Captain Cold. -

Recently the advertising material has tried to keep Wanda and Pietro under wraps, so I'd say they'll make it into merchandise after the movie. What that means for us is beyond me, though. -

He's the guy from Scribblenauts. Finally unlocked every character last night! Ironically, the one character I've been trying to find for a long time, Captain Cold, wound up being the last one I unlocked. After I finish getting all of the minikits, gold bricks, and the final Red Brick (I think I used a code for one, which explains why the percentage didn't count it), I'm going to do a Free Play run using exclusively characters who've appeared on Arrow or the Flash (in some form or another, at least). -

I'd say that the Gorilla Grodd set is somewhat built on the Flash TV show's popularity, as I don't imagine us getting a set with 2 Flash rogues otherwise. I'd say we'll get more Flash-centric sets than usual now, but not too many. The likelihood of the show getting sets itself is still pretty unlikely at this point, unless they just made a set with TV variants of Flash and Green Arrow against traditional Captain Boomerang or Deathstroke or something. This sounds like the kind of thing that Ideas would go for, though, hint hint. -

I'd say that at least gives us an idea of who we could be getting. Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch weren't in that list, which is a little peculiar. -

Kevin Smith and Green Loontern worked as guide characters and such (and were FAR less annoying than Conan was) but that was entirely because of their personalities. Maxwell is a blank slate kinda character, where you're supposed to put yourself in his shoes. Plus his powers are way too complex to translate, and would inevitably wind up throwing pencils like Jim Lee. -

I think there have been talks to include Marvel characters and more Star Wars characters in the sequel though. -

Green Loontern is practically a Lantern anyway. Daffy's a major WB character, too, where Maxwell exists solely in a moderately good puzzle game. It'd be like including the cast of Mortal Kombat because of DC vs MK. Maxwell just isn't that beloved (plus he doesn't have much personality). I do think Scooby Doo and Shaggy would've been excellent additions, giving us a sneak peak at the Scooby Doo theme as well as being a neat nod to all of the various Scooby Doo/DC crossovers. -

I'm shocked that Damian wasn't in there, especially since his very own Batcow was. Damian is like the fan favorite character for DC, too. Aqualad, Maxwell, and Elongated Man are the three I'd have to leave out. Aqualad seems unlikely, Maxwell just isn't close enough to DC, and Elongated Man would HAVE to be able to use those Plastic Man pads, and they aren't likely to give brand new textures to all of those Plastic Man transformations for just a DLC. Gentleman Ghost would make for an extremely fun addition, though! -

I'd say we're going to be waiting quite a while before we see those sets. Last year these sets were just for Spider-Man and Avengers Assemble, and the wave before that was just Iron Man 3 (if I remember correctly), but this time we're dealing with Avengers. Last Avengers movie, Lego accidentally spoiled some stuff, so it's pretty obvious that they're going to keep this stuff under wraps until closer to the release, not to mention that this is for the sequel to the third-highest grossing film of all time. They will be keeping these things under wraps for as long as they possibly can.
