  1. SBricks are going to be fun! I do notice some using the metal hook and others not. It may be the price of the piece. I got mine for $16 after I looked closely at the pictures of a black Technic lot on auction and noticed it tucked into the lot. I plan to continue stocking up on the PF items and wait until the final community MOD to be released. Nothing against Jurgen's build, but I am really drawn to the extra axle on the front.
  2. With my recent purchase of the Naboo fighter I am now only 5 sets away from having the complete UCS. Still missing Yoda, Maul, ISD, MF, and Snow Speeder... This has taken about 18 months only because I refuse to pay insane prices that are often times "bid up" by the seller. If you are patient you will find an honest auction or a reasonable buy it now price. My collection to date has cost me $2741.93 including shipping fees. My biggest money mistake was buying the Imp Shuttle new and building it. I will eventually get the other sets at a good price but I just dont know if I will ever be willing to pay the stupid costs for the MF... Thats what I get for walking past it all those times in the store and laughing at people that were paying $500 for it...
  3. I would also like another battle pack!!!
  4. So far I have enjoyed these sets.
  5. The issue with 32 vendors can be shipping and minimum orders with some vendors and sites. I recently built the Ultimate 8043 at a cost of around $200 in extra parts but could have spent much more if I had not been lucky enough to find almost everything in one place. I did pay $27 for an IR receiver - but only because I could not wait for TLG to re-stock them. Another thing I would add is that official TLG instruction sets are never perfect and neither are the instructions you get with MODS. If you have some experience with building you will find that there is some builds (steps) are intuative and just seem to fall into place. I always try to refer back to this site and pictures to get it right but sometimes you just have to go back and count beam length or gear teeth to make sure you used the right one 20 or more steps back. My advice to any new builder is to count and sort your parts prior to any build and just have fun! I try to buy from TLG if possible for PF items. But you can wait a long time if they are on back order.
  6. I get a replacement set for every new UCS and large scale Technic set I buy and have for years. I always offer to pay for them and they never take any money. I dont know if I am just lucky but thats been my experiance...
  7. Probably not the only one that thinks this way but I feel that a UCS set needs to have the information plaque. Mini's are nice but the hardest part about buying the Sandcrawler was the lack of the plaque and buying Lego should never be hard to do unless your dead broke... Maybe I need to evolve to meet TLG's idea of what makes a UCS because its not like I am going to quit buying them!!!
  8. Has anyone used the 8878 on this yet? My plan is to use one on the chasis and leave the standard pack on the turret to keep the counter weight in place.
  9. I not only scan mine but call Lego and request a new sheet on every set. They have never given me any grief over this... I have done this on the last five sets I bought and plan to keep it up!!!
  10. I bought a reproduction sheet for the 10019 and 10129 and they were absolutly perfect sans copyright info. He had his listing pulled shortly after I bought them - probably due to selling them - but I was able to reach him last week and get a relacement sheet for my 10134. I do not wish to break the rules of the forum so I will not place anyone in contact with him but these high quality "fakes" do come around from time to time. They generally dont last long once the guy selling an original for $150 reports it... I did get a couple of extras for the 10019 and 10129 and I wont know until next week but may have some for the 10134, I would not have any issue with giving free of charge - not even postage - the extras away. If and when I get to a point where I am allowed to trade with other members. I do not want to see BANNED accross my name!!!
  11. I bought the 42009 from Target and it was packaged inside another box. I bought the 10221 from Wal-Mart and they shipped it... Thats it, they shipped it by slapping labels on the actual Lego box and shipping it complete with all the damage you would expect. Since I waited until the last minute to buy one retail I am just happy I only paid retail. I dont know if that is common with Wal-Mart but that was my experience...
  12. I have been a silent observer on this site for a bit now, mostly relating to SW UCS sets. While static sets are nice to look at I must admit that the WOW factor of Technic sets (especially custom MOD's) is particularly addictive. I have parts in hand to build the Ultimate 8043 (Thanks to Jürgen’s vision and afol1969's pdf instructions) and will begin on that next week but I am already beginning the process of getting the parts for the 42009. I want to say thank you to every builder that has the vision and wherewithal to make my Lego world just a little bit better. I am always amazed at what you gents do and it is highly appreciated!!!
