you are mixing this set with other set... This little island is a perfect accessory pack and is working as a small piratebase aswell. This was my first pirate set and i got it when I was 5, it was a birthday present of course :-P And I still have every piece from that set(there are teethmarks on a one palm leaf ;- maybe my mom told me that I should eat more sallad :-D ) Box is missing but instructions are in decent shape. I believe that's pretty good for a 5-year old to look after his own stuff, I'm still amazed about that.. I have to give this set 5/5 Great set and very playable. Ohh..memories.. :'-)

where to start? okay gave it 3/5, I was thinking to give it 2 but there are so many good pieces in this set too, so that is too low-score. I like the sails and the white hull very much. the green/yellow colours don't fit at all! TLC should at least put there more green and yellow to make it look better, but now it looks just ugly in some parts.. *n* I never bought this ship because i hated TLC back then, I was so keen to go into the store where are ALL the new pirate sets..I was so disappointed back then when I was staring legoshelf in the store.. There I was cursing "These are the grand new big lego pirate sets I've been waiting for a year!" Luckily i found out that there is a western theme :-D back to the ship..one good thing about this ship that you could easily improve that by removing or adding some colours to the ship. but this ship was way too expensive so many of us couldn't buy more than one ship.. now when I'm looking at it I see a lot of potential and I might just buy 2 of these someday and make a really good new ship!

Gosh! this set comes with a beautiful box 8-o I never got this set because it was never released here in finland.. I actually saw the box for the first time now when you rewieved it. I like islanders so it's nice to see them attacking in this set *y* the island could be a bit bigger but I have to give 5/5 That's mainly because of the box and islanders. I can only wish I can find that set somewhere someday.. :-|

I got it when it was released and liked it very much back then. I still have the original box/instructions in top condition...anyhow it's a good raft and what makes it better than average is the figures, barrels, shark, sail etc. basically all the pieces are usable if you want to build something else. Now when I'm older I like the older pirate raft more than this, back then it was the opposite. It was quite cheap as far as I can remember. about 40marks back then and that's ~6,5euros, 8USD. I should have bought more of these |-/ I give it 4/5

wow! great pile of legos and a worth a lot of money :-P I also got about a 10 years ago a similar pile of legos, I think there were much much more legos though(20kg or so, I think) if I remember correctly..including full Eldorado fortress for example :-D I got it free but my dad insisted that we must pay a little money for my cousins so he paid fot them about 50e .. we had back then different currency but that should be about it.. I can only hope that miracles could happen again *sweet* And I think that the train of your's is quite valuable too..

good crew overall! I personally don't like those SW figure-torsos..those new eyepatched heads are great and also that western figure head. I would try to remove some colours from your crew, now they are looking a bit miscellaneous group. But you have to do the ship first to know for sure what kind of crew fits in there..

very good images indeed Mister phes. The ship is ok, but it's missing something.. there's plenty on room in the rear to make a proper interior but Lego didn't do that..It's a bit lame for a flagship.... about 10 years ago I customized my own clipper: I moved the front mast a litlle towards the rear and I did build interior in the back, using same style as lego used in BSB.. offcourse I don't have pictures of that ship but it looked much more balanced. I also put one pair brown wooden doors to my ship and it was perfect *sweet* I don't understand why the imperal guards don't have backpacks in the original set..there should have been also couple of barrels and parrot and/or monkey. but overall a good set. I can only give 3/5 though because my MOC was much more better. Mister Phes: you have black pieces in your cannons?.. are they from original set or did you chance them? All my cannons are all the way gray..

well, i might be wrong but it seems to be a bit odd when other soldiers are using breastplates/helmets and other soldiers aren't.. usually when somebody uses a new weapon(or something similar) in war, others are trying to copy it.. that's one reason why I look at it this way. And in my opinion the whole armada theme was useless overall as well, if you can call it a theme, couple of lousy ugly sets. sorry a bit off-topic but i had to say it X-D and sorry if I'm stepping on somebodys toes here, but all of you who like the "armada theme" and are mixing them with older imperial sets are way off.. If the armada era is in the same time as imperial guards they must have been in different locations.. X-O oh my, I just had a huge MOC idea *sweet*

let's revive this thread! I voted "love them" And why? because they bring so much to pirate theme. Pirate theme is naturally all about sea-battles, right? Now you can make island or a big shore where they live and now the land battles begin..Now you can make a big jungle where the islanders blend in and they are hard to defeat because they know the jungle so well. And the best of all is that you can choose: are they peace loving or bad folk..and now the british/french have a new enemy..If they live in the same continent with the british/french they can attack them also, I bet they don't expect that :-D and of course you can make a great temple where they sacrifice ugly frenchmen or captain redbeard himself ;-) And of course there is one thing what I always wondered..allmost every pirate set comes with a map with X-mark on but there is not really a set where you can dig the treasure!? maybe the treasure is in the natives' land? :-D And when you buy a islander set you have great bricks! green baseplates, crocodiles, canoes, new female figure, lots of plants, and I just love the shields and drums *y* Did someone said that islanders are not accurate figures? well, I think you can't make much more accurate figure..they have bone in the hair, weeds, leis, bones in their neck and some leafs to cover the private parts :-D ..If you ask me, that's a native.. they could have been dark-skinned but I bet there would have been people who bring out the racism-thing or whatever. And what becomes with the era..there have allways been a natives and there still is! especially in the south-america. Use your imagination guys! If that(what I wrote) is not enough reason to love islanders theme, I can tell you more reasons! :-$ I hope you get my point here, my english is not one of my best sides.. :-P

yeah I searched many MOC pages already but I have so many ideas of my own too.. I think I'll try to do something new instead of looking too much what others have done.. But I still need more basic construction bricks, so I cannot do nothing big yet. Maybe I warm up by doing something small :-P I don't own digital camera though..

Hello! You can call me Mile and I am from Finland. Born in 1985 I started collecting legos at the age 5 and collected them about 10years..and now I'm feeling a bit nostalgic. Now I'm starting to search for the missing pirate sets(just a few) for my collection and maybe if I have the time I'm gonna do a big MOC with pirate theme. Has anyone here made a BIG landscape including all the big original pirate sets? I personally don't want to mix my legos from different sets and build a MOC using them. I wanna keep them in order and use my other legos to do a big landscape (couple of islands, volcano, a big cliff a big shore) sadly I didn't have enough legos ten years ago to fullfill my childhood dream *n* I allready bought some more legos, but I need much more.. |-/ I think the best LEGO-era was in the 80's and early 90's. I think the last very good theme was the western sets..and later there was some good sets, but not really a good full-themes. and I hope that my english is good enough.. if not, just laugh or whatever :-D

My thoughts exactly! Imperial armada figures are not ugly but I look the big picture and they don't blend in at all *n* And for me big picture is everything.
