  1. Well done with this MOC! I haven't seen any of the others, but there are definitely some great ideas in this one (especially the security van hermit crab). Somehow I get the impression the bank is still operational. Good luck in the competition!
  2. Those models are hot, and very well built and designed. I definitely want one of the armoured vehicles!
  3. As mentioned in the other thread I've been keen on designing and producing custom minifigure accessories, so I placed an order with Shapeways for some basic models I created last night in Blender. Let's see how it goes.
  4. I've seen both the Toy Workshop and the Bakery in stock at different Lego stores throughout the year, with the Bakery changing prices (at one point it was GBP 34.99 or 35.99). But sometimes they've been there, sometimes they haven't.
  5. Ar one point they used the atrocious YODEL, but I'm not sure now.
  6. If it's anything like the other Westfield, it will probably happen early next year. That store opened at roughly the same time last year.
  7. Very sure it is, actually I didn't realise the similarity until after seeing the review of the Pet Shop. Thanks for the feedback!
  8. Welcome to the show!
  9. This, because it happened today.
  10. One thing that might be useful is an embossing heat tool, commonly used in arts and crafts/scrapbooking and inexpensive. Not sure if it cures the Sculpey entirely, but it at least hardens the surface, so you can add more Sculpey on top without ruining the existing shape. Once you're done you can bake or boil the whole thing to cure it properly.
  11. Oh all right. I could always use some of the sets for parts.
  12. TBH I'm also disappointed, to the point where I'll give the whole thing a miss. However, Friday would be very useful for anyone who hasn't got Jay.
  13. I would [attempt to] enter this time around, but I've over-saturated myself with S5 figures. I'll wait for the next one.
  14. Turns out there were two post office entries in the "Expand the Winter Village" competition last year: Santa's Post Office by Cecilie Post Office by SuperBagel Had wondered if there were any similarities between them and the official set. Anyway, the orange tint exists when I don't use the flash. I'm going to look at getting a proper setup for my next review or creation, whenever that is.
  15. I got the price list from the other thread on EB about this set, but given it's GBP 49.99 I think it would roughly be USD 69.99. That's a shame.
  16. That should probably read "no digitally added decals or [digital] part colour changes will be allowed".
  17. Groceries... perhaps boxes of cereal, toilet/kitchen paper, biscuits.
  18. Very good! I like how you've incorporated curves in the building shape, and the many transparent blue pieces you've used. I'm a bit envious now. Now get to work on the interior!
  19. Just took a couple of pictures to show how it's done: Basically the circle corner plates are held in place with the clip plate and a four-way clip piece (probably a Technic part) that sits in the centre of the roof. Simple, but I'd never have thought of it. Thanks for the compliments! If this set is discounted again (hopefully with the Toy Workshop), there's going to be some stockpiling.
  20. I thought so; I used a similar technique for one of my MOCs.
  21. They're both cool, but strangely I'm drawn to the second one.
  22. Thank you guys for the feedback, and congratulations lightningtiger! Also, whoever added that <-- title - what a nice gesture.
  23. It's the one that turned out to be the Kingdoms Joust set. I don't know if it's in stores yet, because I wasn't looking in that direction.
