  1. 1) SLS AMG in either silver or bley with no PF elements. Put in full suspension, working transmission, fake engine, working steering wheel, dampened gull wing doors, and lots of detail. 2) Float plane based on the DHC2 Beaver. Add working flaps, drooping ailerons, elevators, rudder, retractable landing gear, and a 9 cylinder radial engine (I'd be happy with an 8 cylinder....would be easier to build). This is one of my future mocs. 3) Forwarder with pneumatics. That is my vote.
  2. Wow...very cool. I think this is my favorite trial truck. The rear suspension is clever, and I like how you mounted the springs. Do you have any close up pictures of just the axles, or maybe a picture of the truck without the body? Nicely done!
  3. Fantastic! I like how the tow truck was build using a more traditional Technic style. It look great too!
  4. Wow...very cool! I like the turning drum used for the timing. Ingenious. I love it when people come up with off-the-wall stuff like this.
  5. I'll post up a video and thread about it when I get a few bugs worked out. It might be a couple weeks before I get a chance to do so. Paul had an awesome display, and his Mustang took the Best Technic award. He has some incredible builds. Really cool guy too. There were some stanchions set up around the tables, but they were fairly close to the tables. I had some people playing around with my radial engine, but I didn't really care. As long as they didn't touch my backhoe, I was happy. People touching stuff wasn't really an issue for me, but I often wonder what some of the other exhibitors do to keep kids from running off with mini-figures.
  6. I agree 100% with everything said in this post. 8258 has a large amount of pieces, and if I remember correctly, it has more gears than any other set. 8043 is also a great set and has a fairly complex gearbox. 8110 is also a huge set with lots of pieces and pneumatics. Like others have said, I would buy 8258 before it gets super expensive. Then buy 8043 before production is stopped, then 8110. Just my $.02.
  7. Hey guys, I had a great time this year! CP5670, it was great having breakfast with you. Paul Boratko, I had a blast hanging out in the Technic section with you and your wife. You all are a cool bunch. Thanks for the extra gears too! And I'm sure I talked to a few of you other EB members as well, although I'm sorry if I have a hard time putting faces with usernames. It was great meeting everyone, and I look forward to next years event! Daniel (the guy with the backhoe)
  8. The backhoe is my model. Each wheel has an internal structure made of 32 angle connectors and some other parts holding it all together. The actual rubber part of the wheel is made of 32 30.4x14 tires stretched around the frame. The center rim is from the 8051 motorcycle with a yellow xpod cover. The wheel is attached to the backhoe frame via a turntable with gear reduction in the hub. Front wheels are the wheels from 8297. I'll post a thread about my backhoe in a few weeks. I need to rebuild the front axle and fix a couple of other minor issues before then. I also want to build some enclosures for the battery boxes. In addition to the backhoe, I had a 16 cylinder radial engine with variable pitch propeller. Not sure if anybody got a picture of that, but I'll throw up a thread about it in a few days. Daniel
  9. Cool cool! I've got a Technic JCB backhoe that I'll have on display, so I'll be over at the Technic table. I'll have some gears on my name badge, so I should be easily recognizable. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!
  10. True...I didn't think about the crowds. 10:00 on Friday sounds good to me. Does IHOP sound ok?
  11. PM sent. I'll be pulling in late Thursday night, and leaving Sunday night. It looks like there are a lot of things scheduled during dinner hours, so dinner may not work unless we do it during the yard sale. How about Saturday breakfast at 9:00 at the Chantilly IHOP. Any better ideas?
  12. Does anybody want to get together and do a EB breakfast or dinner somewhere?
  13. Awesome bike! Love the chrome bits, and nice color scheme as well!
  14. Sorry, I meant you could fit that tire around a 1/2 bushing. Not the rim.
  15. Woah....that's a massive project! I like that engine too. I'm looking forward to finished project.
  16. The following tires will fit a 1/2 bushing: "13mm x 4mm" tires "Tire Offset Tread Medium" These tires also fit, but I can't find just the tires on bricklink: Anyways, I suppose those tires are too narrow for what you want, but you may be able to double up the smaller tires.
  17. Awesome, thanks! I don't know why I didn't think to look on the TRU website. Doh! I think I may pick this set up in the next couple weeks.
  18. Awesome! I think I may pick this set up in a few weeks. My local TRU didn't have the flatbed, but they did have the lift truck and extreme cruiser or whatever it's called. The extreme cruiser was $60, which is waaayy too overpriced for that set. As nice as all the black panels are, I wouldn't pay more than $40 for it. But anyways, the flatbed looks like a great set. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost?
  19. Fantastic looking model! I'm hoping Paul has this on display at Brickfair so I can get a better look at it. Nicely done!
  20. Sorry, I didn't mean to duplicate your post. I think we posted at about the same time.
  21. Lego education has 2 white tanks for $15.00 USD. Here
  22. I like it! That is a lot of functions you will have! Looks great! I wish I had some of those micro motors.
  23. Sorry, I don't have any other pictures of the pneumatic valves. I have also seen smaller designs somewhere, but I don't think they had any clutch gears. If you would like, I can rebuild a single pneumatic valve and motor contraption for you.
