  1. SLS parts - I am curious how much of a commitment LEGO has to making these. Since I am not familiar with the technology, can anyone estimate how long it would take to print the small train in the new Winter Train set? Multiply this by the number of WT sets they may sell - maybe 50,000?, then divide by the length of the production run, maybe 2 or 4 weeks?, then you have the number of SLS machines, plus engineering and prototypes. How much does each machine cost? If this effort is less than say $1-2MM, then its a fad. If this effort to make SLS parts is more than, maybe $10MM, we are going to see more of these parts if we like or or not.
  2. Set 21362 has created a great deal of excitement in the rock/mineral/nature collector community. Any idea when it might ship in October, available for pre-orders now.
  3. Yup, I should have checked - https://www.railpictures.net/photo/693421/ thought it looked familiar. If I get the set, I'll get some custom stickers made.
  4. Glad it worked, but I am a bit concerned about the 'max load limit' and 'no step' stickers being ignored
  5. Please correct me if I am wrong, are these the colors for Santa Fe Railroad?
  6. As a fan of Virtual Railfan on Youtube, I think you've done a great job modeling BNSF engines - there are still some of the old green runs in use, although many are being retired. Any plans to add the logo on the side? Black or the rare 'golden swoosh.?
  7. Perfect for a Snowpiecer MOC, just need about 200 or so more cars
  8. Emperor of the North is one of those unrecognized film classics (cult film). Awesome to see the train and Shack, A-1, and the rest of the crew as well.
  9. That's really cool. I can see you had some connections issues, lets not look at the underside
  10. Space sets - might bring me back out from the dark... (and into the dark of space...). Will remain skeptical that this is not a City theme list until some images emerge.
  11. Nice, Amazon US has it from RRP of $699.99. More interesting is the number of sales, Amazon claims over 50 units sold with only 4 remaining, as of 2 Aug 23. Not sure if this is disappointing or good.
  12. https://www.wfsb.com/2023/01/24/lego-announces-move-enfield-boston No comments, but its a shame to see them go. The customer service people were neighbors and we could chat about places to eat, etc. while getting orders finished. Hope all the folks can be accommodated.
  13. One word - gears Longer answer - all the stuff that attaches to gears, various means to translate rotary to linear motions, and the limitations of LEGO gears (torque, slack, ratios...) and how to design around the limitations to get something close to want you want. And yes, I am an engineer as well, but not a mechanical engineer.
  14. I'd consider Mindstorms as universal sets to some extent, and now they are gone as well.
  15. May make a good micro mixer for your fruit smoothie, though
