LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I thought it was the other way round with 2017 being Jake Farrell's helmet. -
When I heard this was only going to be a radar dish I was expecting it to be one of those forgettable throwaway sets that are only useful for parts. But seeing it now the build for this is beautiful! Its easily one of the nicest looking superhero sets they've done in a while. And that golden armor Wonder Woman is amazing! Cheetah looks like she came out of the Legends of Chima line but she's still a nice minifigure.

THE PIRATE BAY IS GOING TO BE AN OFFICIAL LEGO SET!!!!

The set looks amazing even if the build isn't as faithful to the original submission. Being able to combine the ship wreck into a modernized Black Seas Barracuda is a great idea and the inclusion of the classic Islanders statue is a pretty cool throwback. Even the box art has a strong classic Pirates vibe to it. -
Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

Iron Man and Rescue I can see being the same minifigures that were just released, but Loki? The last figure of him we got was the Ragnarok variant from three years ago. The one before that appeared in a Juniors set four years ago that was already reissued from the 2012 Avengers wave. Both versions have long been retired. Is there really any doubt the 2020 Loki won't be a new minifigure? -

Lucasfilm was already holding back reference material for Palpatine's appearance from Hasbro to avoid spoilers. The same would have applied to Lego as well. I thought it seemed a bit unrealistic that we would get an Exegol set this early into the year. -
This certainly wasn't what I was expecting but I have to admit the interactive play does look like it can be pretty fun. Still I really hope we eventually see normal sets and minifigures make their way into the line.

New LotR action figures make me hopeful for Lego
wesker replied to lego the hutt's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The first LOTR wave and Bag End sold just fine. It was everything that came after that sold poorly. Part of the problem was the Hobbit trilogy not resonating with audiences the same way LOTR did as it wasn't just Lego that sold poorly but all Hobbit merchandise. The other problem was the second LOTR wave focusing on secondary "filler" sets instead of capturing the more memorable moments of the trilogy like the first wave did. For a Middle Earth comeback to work they really need to keep the Hobbit sets to a minimum like they've done with Fantastic Beasts in the Harry Potter line and limit LOTR's focus primarily on the most iconic moments of the trilogy. -

The Razor Crest looks amazing! Definitely going to be a day one purchase. Baby Yoda is already one of my favorite minifigures for the year and I like that they've given IG-11 a new head print to differentiate him from IG-88. Hopefully we'll see more pics of the interior at Toy Fair. -

Yeah just looking at past Clone Wars sets there have been quite a few times characters weren't bound by screen accuracy. Mace Windu in Grievous' Combat Speeder, Aurra Sing in the Bounty Hunter Gunship and Ahsoka in the Umbaran Tank are just some examples. -

I'm surprised no one's brought up Chewbacca as a possible inclusion seeing that he was captured by the Knights of Ren. -

It depends on the figure. Most of them have been surprisingly cheap but there are a couple where the sellers have really been showcasing their greed and taking advantage of the price. The Mandalorian and Lando being two of the most notable examples. -

They are ridiculously overpriced at the moment but its only a matter of time before they drop down to roughly what Ap'lek and Ushar are selling for. Better to be patient and wait. -

Looking forward to the Night Buzzard but will probably skip on the AAT. I feel like the design peaked with the 2009 model and I personally prefer the Trade Federation color selection from TPM over the Separatist version from TCW. -

Its a perfect opportunity for a Holographic Darth Vader microfigure like the Princess Leia one that just came out in Obi-Wan's Hut. But ESB is a difficult movie to come up with new exciting figures for as almost everything has just about been covered. On the Hoth front the only other notable options left are R5-M2 and Force Ghost Obi-Wan. -

The proportions can definitely be improved upon. One thing that put me off on the 2014 model was how slim the body was at the front near the neck joint. It made the head look oversized and lost the vehicle's hulking menacing structure. Looking back the 2003 set was really the only one that captured the AT-AT's bulkiness. -
I'm guessing it will be the 2014 cowl. None of the other Batman characters are using their parts from TLBM and comic Batgirl normally has her hair loose under the cowl like the original mold, not tied in a ponytail.
-
Glad we're getting a new Batgirl (assuming she hasn't been confused with Batwoman) and at least one new character with Bronze Tiger. Other than that the sets themselves sound pretty underwhelming.

Haven't been too impressed with the 2020 sets so far but these sound promising. I'm interested to see how they pull off the Helicarrier at a smaller scale to the D2C one. Nice to hear Spider-Ham is on the way and Rescue will be appearing in another set. Hopefully Black Widow will be based on the comics or video game. Will be a shame if they cheapen out and just reuse the same MCU figure from the Helicopter Chase. -
I'd love to see Indiana Jones make a comeback in some form for its 40th Anniversary next year whether that's a new line of sets, a CMF series or a single D2C set like what Pirates of the Caribbean got for the 5th film.

Other than a few leftover Millennium Falcon and Passana Speeder Chase sets I haven't seen any of the Force Friday wave in stock for quite some time now. I'm wondering if they had a lower production run as the new 2020 sets are out on shelves but none of the previous wave is getting restocked. -

Glad the Gunship won. The system scale versions have always been consistently great sets but the detail of a UCS version would be something truely special. Plus it winning over half the votes on the poll sends a clear message there is a strong desire for sets from the prequel era. Wait... Gregor's a major character? But he only showed up for one episode of TCW in an unpopular storyarc! His only other appearance was a supporting role in a couple of Rebels episodes which he already has a minifigure for. -
The new dinosaurs sound great and its nice that the sets are loosely based off the first movie for those of us who missed the Indominus Rex and some of the characters. Just a shame there still isn't anything from TLW and JP3.

I think Phase II Cody is definitely a character they can't keep putting off much longer. The prequels have been going for 15-21 years now and there are certain key characters that really have no excuse for not being part of the line by now. Thankfully 2019 delivered on releasing some long requested fan favorites like Bail Organa, Zuckuss, Exile Luke, Lieutenant Connix and the Knights of Ren so hopefully the trend will continue into 2020. The only rumor we have related to TROS is that we're supposedly getting the final two Knights of Ren in the summer wave. Other than that all we know is that the majority of the wave will focus on TCW/Prequel era so there's not likely to be too many TROS sets. -

Hard to believe its been a decade since the last Grievous' Starfighter. Would be great if the clone figure turns out to be Commander Cody. -

Good to hear the Advent Calendar is bringing back the Christmas themed minifigures.
