  1. I don't know anything about Hero Factory or Bionicle returning, but its the basic nature and cycle of themes in LEGO to be replaced by a(its) successor(ex. Space Police=Galaxy Squad, Kingdoms=Castle, Alpha Team=Agents, etc.) in a matter of 2-4 years give or take. What's rare is the return of a theme, hence this years(2013) biggest shocker Ninjago Rebooted. We all have our own reasons to why Bionicle should and should not return/be rebooted, but I for one welcome an all new constraction theme. Personally I would want TLG to grab inspiration from both HF and Bionicle by having the combination of bones and specialized pieces to make the figures. As for the themes backstory, I have always been amazed by Metru Nui as it seems TLG put a lot of effort and creativity into creating this world full of culture and advanced technology, so a setting like Metru Nui with characters like the Matarons and warriors like the Toa's would be a success in my book.
  2. I love the little Easter egg of the Sentai Mountain on the mechdragon, but I personally would not want Exo-Force universe to co-exist with Ninjago. Now that being said, I would love if TLG took some inspiration from Exo-Force into the sets and show. Maybe they can make a new temple with a back-story of the first spinjitzu master. Perhaps they could pull out a "Kung Fu Panda" and have the mountain be the birth place of spinjitzu. So who knows what TLG has in store for us in the summer. I for one would like to see a Ninja Fortress set that appears as a fortress/temple that sits on top of the Sentai Mountain.
  3. I would actually want an UCS Tie advanced. I would settle for a AT-AT retail set, if we do get one in the summer, but I have my doubts, unless we get another ROTS and Empire Strikes Back mix like the one we got in 2010, which I would love.
  4. This is a first I have heard about PT ship complaints. Back in 2005 to 2007 in the star wars forums, many fans actually loved the ships and artillery from the PT. The only difference I always saw between the PT and OT vehicles were the increase of markings and color. With the new trilogy coming out to be stand alone films, I actually expect that the vehicles are going to be different and unique from the current saga ships we already have. Which I hope they do because I would love to see new sets instead of more remakes of the saga. A few remakes of fan favorites, but after that I'm hoping Rebels and Epi.7 will bring TLG with some new material.
  5. lol that was my favorite line. I really want to see more of General Cryptor and Mindroid. Edit: Just found the line, "Look at you. Last one out of the factory line, ran out of metal ehh I will call you mindroid"
  6. On the subject of spinners being cancelled, It most likely had to do with the Chima push on speeders and that the show started to stray away from the spinjitzu fighting and decided to focus more on the sets.
  7. All sets have a retire date, especially UCS. By a certain period, they will already have sold there expected sale projections. By the point that the majority or expected sales of there targeted consumers have purchased the model set, sales by that point will only drop in time to the point the investment is not worth that smaller profit. With there amount sold, they move on to the next model set, that way fans can continue to expand there collection, at TLG gets there millions.
  8. Considering these were the pilot episodes, it makes sense that TLG would have all the winter sets for that extra advertisement. I doubt it will be the last we see of the sets appearing in the show
  9. Retail or the general wave of sets released every year are constantly being revamped despite the models release date. The UCS on the other hand isn't intended to be sold to there general consumer. With a series as highly invested as UCS, they focus on providing new models annually because for one there are virtually perfect and the price point is set much higher. To remake a UCS model of the Falcon with minor improvements will not sell well, ergo low profits, no investment. Now with general retail sets, the Falcon can be remade several times and will at-least remain in there expected sales rate. My point is a ROTJ Falcon slightly bigger than 7965 but still smaller than UCS is a possible future set for 2015-2016.
  10. Definitely agree with you on these pilot episodes. Personally I am impressed with the amount of plot they managed to pack into 40min, but as for development, it sets the basic and from here I would think the pace would be slower, but always progressing in the plot. In comparison to season 2 pilot episodes, I personally enjoyed Epi.28 over Epi.2 mainly because of the characters and dialogue, especially the Overlord. Though I'm not convinced that the Nindroid army and Mechdragon are truly at there fullest potential. Granted they did prove there superiority over the ninja, they felt unfinished, and with Lloyd's powers once again being a main focus, it definitely hints at a grander plot.
  11. I apologize for the spoilers, I shall remove them from my comment. As for the info, I see no reason it cant be shown here. I understand that this thread is focused on mainly the sets, but there's no harm in throwing some info of the theme. My point is this forum is meant for the Ninjago community, fans of the sets and show.
  12. Epi.2 definitely had some interesting stuff.
  13. No prob, I'm just glad I stumbled upon them :) Barely finished watching it all. Its only the first 2 episodes. The first 2 vids are the first episode/Epi.27, and the three other vids are episode 2/Epi.28
  14. For those of you who cant wait or don't have access to it. Its bad quality but its great to finally get to see the 1st episodes early. (The intro links are not included and I did not upload these videos.) Epi.27 part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkwYFlROzcg Epi.27 part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HD00wA2xtAQ Epi.28 part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24NLVH14TzY Epi.28 part 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mg-p7qqjyqA Epi.28 part 4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3H9ZxOUACpI
  15. I doubt TLG would make another UCS Falcon since its only been about 5-6 years since the first one but it sold very well so at the same time I can see them remaking it especially for the upcoming epi.7. If the ship does come with full interior that matches its exterior, the price point would atleast increase by another 50-80 U.S dollars and considering the 2007 model was 500 U.S$, that price, with taxes, would hit at-least or over 600$. That isn't very appealing, I would honestly prefer a improved model of the 7965 with all new epi.7 figures.
  16. Agreed, if anything this winter wave was all ninja focused, but I cant imagine what more they could make that wont resemble the sets we already got. Aerial vehicles(jets, copters, etc.) defeats the purpose of the Mechdragon, or at least wont compare. We already got a tank-bike with the Overborg and a hover hunter, and making another tank model would discourage people from buying the Destructoid. I cant see TLG making a $60-expensive wave without rehashing ideas or making something obscure but new. Which makes me think, all that is left are location based sets with a few minor vehicles similar to the gliders we saw this wave. Personally I'm hoping they make a Ninja fortress, while not mobile like Destiny's bounty, it would be nice to have and gets the $60+ price point.
  17. I agree with you on the possibilities of a Borg tower or Wu's academy as sets as they don't seem all that appealing. I would think any location sets would be a temple that will later appear in the show, or some kind of Ninja fortress(Ninja HQ oh plz TLG). Summer villain sets would probably be minor vehicles/weaponry since we already got the Mechdragon.
  18. A super tank would be nice to have, I would personally want a separatist Haildroid and the Invisible Hand cruiser with updated Grievous.
  19. If the sets will now be based off character/story arcs, this could be an attempt to create an evergreen product to keep the theme going. Though I disagree with Zane's arc being set to end within 2014. I see a lot of potential in this Nindroid route that could introduce the theme to something similar to Exo-Force sets and a story similar to Bionicle in complexity. Personally I would love to see TLG continue this techno look.
  20. I imagine epi.4 sets wouldnt start showing up until late 2014 to early 2015. I would think with the last bonus arc episode of the clone wars being released next year, they would make some final clone war based sets. That way we get updated jedi and hopefully commander cody and wolffe in phase 2 armor.
  21. I dont imagine there could be another flagship set for the villians of NINJAGO, considering that a dragon is one of the ultimate forces/power in NINJAGO. For all we know the summer sets could be location based. Just a bit of info, someone recorded th first half of the 1st episode of rise of the spinjistu master and uploaded it on to youtube.
  22. A Delta Squad battle pack with updated battle droids, I've died and gone to heaven. Anyone got any ideas what the summer sets might be. I'm hoping they will try to milk epi.3 based sets some more, I would love some Wookiee sets or remake of the Mustafar duel.
  23. Got some more news on the Ninjago marathon on Dec.7 in the U.S. I have yet to see the CN commercial again, but according to tvguide, only the last episode four episodes of season 2 will air from 11:00a.m to 1:00p.m than at 1:00p.m will be the amazing world of gumball. Basically we are getting a sneak peak or hopefully premiere date.
