  1. While the 3rd movie didn't have CGI special effects, it still had a pretty big mechanical special effect. The Mustang that they swapped the RB26DETT didn't produce enough power to drift, it was converted to a single turbo set up because there isn't enough room in the engine bay for the factory Nissan set up, and it was only used for close up shots. The other 4 Mustangs used in the movie were all powered by various Ford engines, including a factory I6. 2 of them had 430ci Ford small blocks, and those were the only Mustangs that could actually be used to drift I know they can be built up, and more power to the people that due it. I'm a gear head. I love cars very much, and I've owned a number of cars from all over the world, including a few Datsun/Nissan Z cars, a Honda, a '69 Camaro, '98 T/A, VW's, an MG Midget. I'm not denying that it can't be done, only that the way it's done in the movies is over done and unrealistic. As a gear head, I can't stand that. And see, that's much closer to my style of car. I don't need a fancy stereo system, I want a strong running and bulletproof drivetrain because I'd rather participate in a speed competition than a stereo competition. Well anyway, the day is new. Shall I carry on with the original topic? Redline (2007) - If you don't remember this movie, it's because it sucked. It was made with the sole purpose of showing off Daniel Sadek's multimillion dollar exotic car collection. Daniel Sadek is now broke, and he no longer owns the cars that starred in this box office bomb. On second thoughts, if you're an old high school enemy of Sadek, you might actually enjoy the movie very, very much. House of the Dead (2003) Car movies aren't my only guilty pleasure, I also love horror movies. My movie collection contains approximately 2,000 horror films. This one is at the very bottom of the list. It's completely unwatchable. Uwe Boll, in his infinite wisdom, even splices in pieces of the 1996 video game we all loved to play at the arcade. It's great game, but as a movie directed by the second worst director of all time, it has no redeeming properties. In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale (2007) This one's another Uwe Boll film. Jason Statham plays the exact same part he gets in every single movie he has ever been in, only this time his name is "Farmer" His family is killed by a crazy king (Burt Reynolds) and he has to take his revenge on the people that've wronged him. At least that's how I remember it going. I can never get enough of Leelee Sobieski. Besides her and Statham, the only other reason to see this movie is to get ideas for castle MOCs.
  2. A few movies I can't stand/unsee/comprehend/forget: The Core - Okay, the earth's core has stopped spinning, lets get it going again with an atomic bomb!!! Let's establish that onscreen then get the cast in the Power Miners style machine cut away and back to them at the same time with the text "456,992 hours later..." The rest of the movie is just as boring as those crucial hours spent traveling to the core that were so exciting, the editors decided to omit it from the rest of the movie. Punisher: War Zone - All the Ray Stevenson fans who had never read a Punisher comic in their life cheered, and criticized anyone who liked the only other Punisher movie worth discussing because only a "Tom Jane fagboy...(I mean, fanboy)" could possibly like "Tom Jane's horrid interpretation of Frank Castle. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (released 11 July 2003) - I never thought Sean Connery could be in a bad movie... until I saw this one. While I liked the concept, and admittedly the comic on which it was based, the movie failed in execution and special effects. Let me lay it down for you. This movie stole aspects of numerous movies from the previous 2 years of Hollywood productions. A few examples would include Dr. Jekyll talking to Mr. Hyde being strangely familiar to the interactions that take place in Spiderman (2002) between the Green Goblin and Norman Osborn. The Hulk was released just three short weeks prior to this movie (20 June 2003) and the transformation of Jekyll into Hyde is strangely similiar to Bruce Banner's transformation. The chain of events leading up to the submarine bomb's detonation (the camera following the inner workings of the sub and ending with the explosion) is very, very similar to the same event in The Fast and the Furious (2001) Now hold on a sec, line break. I realize there are few original ideas, and imitation may be the highest form of flatter but imitating other movies so close to the release date of your own movie is poor choice. You see, what happened with me is that I automatically compared LEG to other movies I had seen recently. This in turn took my mind off of the movie I was supposed to be watching, I lost focus, got bored with it, and started picking it apart the second time I watched it. You know the Invisible Man? The first time we see him, all I can say is wow!!! He predictably cannot be seen. He proceeds to rub shaving creme or possibly suntan lotion on his face so that we can see him. well sort of. We see the outline of his face, and it looks exactly like a porcelain casting of someone's face. When he turns around, suddenly we're looking at the back of this porcelain mask. He puts on a coat and we can look through the opening on the front of coat to the back of the inside of it. 5 seconds later, he walks outside. Suddenly, he has a black shirt on underneath the coat, white makeup all over his face/ears/neck, and apparently he has white 4 day old stubble on his face. Apparently the computer generation cost so much, they ended up having to substitute a real actor. So anyway, carry on right? Next up is The Fast and the Furious movies. All of them. I love cars, and car movies, even if the plot sucks. (A perfect example of that would be 1974's Gone in 60 Seconds) The F&F movies, they don't really have anything going for them except Jordana Brewster. The "race cars" aren't real race cars, 1.6L I-4's that run 16-17 seconds in the quarter mile are stated as running 10's and still manage to beat American made muscle cars with engines almost 4X as big. Nitrous doesn't really give the reaction F&F claims it does, there's no such thing as a power adder named NOS, NOS is an acronym for Nitrous Oxide Systems, which is a company that makes the product for which they are named. Thanks to these movies, and their popularity that term has been misused to no end. It's not something I can get mad at someone for, because they don't know any better. You know what happened to every single male between the ages of 16 and 25 that saw those movies and owned either a Honda, Mitsubitchi, Toyota, or other compact economy car? When they walked out into the parking lot after the movie and saw their car they thought to themselves... "Holy shiit, I own a race car!!!" I could go on and on with more movies, but my wife just called me. Apparently I have to get to the hardware store in 30 minutes to buy horse feed.
  3. Snake - the coolest helmet ever. Great for post apoc stuff Love Space Truck - Awesome post apoc space craft. It also makes for a pretty neat truck mod when it has monster tires fit underneath it and a more earthly weapon in the back. Falcon - It's just a sweet looking cop car... erm cop craft. Love
  4. I would like more of an exploration space theme, similar to Firefly. If the Minifig race is all there is, and the President of Legoland commissions a space exploration team (like the old Classic Town space shuttle sets) it would be a great hint at things to come. Give it a year, then launch a new Town subtheme like Moon Base or something. That story could go any one of a number of ways, Maybe the mayor of moon base becomes politically corrupt and starts enslaving other minifigs to work in the asteroid mines or something. They can also just skip that whole development stage and just fast forward 2,000 years. By then, space travel will likely be a routine event for the human race, so why not minifigs? Maybe there's no life out there, maybe there is?
  5. That car freakin rocks! That is a very creative way to have a positionable suspension in a minifig scale car. I've come up with a few solutions but none that can be used in a car that stripped down. You're a genius.
  6. What do you have from this list? http://brickset.com/search/?WantedBy=theepirate
  7. WOW!!! V3 is spot on. perhaps the only thing I would suggest changing would be somehow shortening the front overhand by 1 plate on the SNOT aspect of it.. I have some ideas on how to achieve this using the 1X1 brick with studs on 2 sides. (This way you can have the SNOT part on the front and you can use a black cheese on the back for the wheel arch.) I'm a huge fan of Mad Max and I must say, you did the Interceptor justice. That is far better than anything I can make with pieces in my collection.
  8. Do you also own the set that camera is from or did you just assemble it using pieces you had on hand? That TV van was one of my first sets. I only have about half the pieces to it, I need to BL some of the missing ones so I can reassemble it. Oh, and this 4X4 is one of those sets I always wanted but never got when I was younger.
  9. Oh that's nothing, he's just had waaaaaay too much caffeine. Gotta stay alert for piloting those red eye flights.
  10. I agree with most of what's been said.. For element of the decade, the cheese slope, new telescope are strong contenders. Lego has produced some extremely nifty little pieces over the past 10 years. I also like the 1X2X2 slope they started using, and the 1X4 lightsaber rod. I think that good ol 1 by X bricks deserve a great nod too :-p without them, few mocs would be built
  11. No worries, they're not all Lego bricks. In this shot the top ones are clearly Lego, but look at the studs in the bottom picture. The studs are entirely too big to be Lego. In the shot with the the cutie, The lower 3 patches seem to be Lego, but the upper ones have those funky studs again.
  12. It's been under development for quite some time, and the release date keeps on getting pushed back. Last I heard it was due out 3Q10. I think the original release date was two years ago. I'm just tired of that date getting pushed back all the time. At least when Blizzard finally releases its games, they're damn near perfect.
  13. Wow. That's really all I can say right now. That is a very impressive Lego City. I can't believe I missed this, but that's not surprising since almost all my Lego is in storage for the time being. Consequently, I haven't been very active with it. Yes there's Chili's in Europe... Well, there's at least one, on Ramstein AB in Germany. That was my first meal coming back from Iraq. I don't remember what I ate, only that I drank around $50 in Guinness
  14. Beautiful!!! This is the theme I anticipate the most since Indiana Jones and Pirates II is going away. I've been looking/waiting for pics of these sets for a long time.
  15. Well, the audio is way off, but at 2:26 you can see the back of my old leather jacket and the back of my head. I still have that jacket :-p
  16. Other than Lego, the only the only items I collect are Hot Wheels and firearms. My Hot Wheels collections is worth around $3K and my firearms collection... let's not get into that. I have two pending purchases, an AR-15 and an M-1 Garand.
  17. I had a similar thing happen to me about 4 years ago with a set that I bought at TRU that was discounted 50%. I bought The Castle of Morcia in a heavily damaged, but apparently unopened box, and it was missing the bag that the gate pieces come in.
  18. I'm a little confused as to why he would have bolt cutters on the flightline. What kind of aircraft maintenance is he doing?
  19. That color green would be more appropriate in a Vietnam era MOC anyway... when you combine it with the green rifle, it could very easily be a Special Operations squad making their way through the jungle to a Viet Cong hideout.
  20. I just wanna say, I wouldn't trust a company that calls what is obviously a caboose, a dining car. Entan, Frisco Fe? That's also worth a good laugh.
  21. YAY FOR 1X3 TILES!!!! Is this the first we've seen of them? I'm gonna have to buy a few of these sets.... I'll be parting them out, but I'm keeping those treads. Between those and the new helmet armor, I can make a nice faction for my post apoc stuff.

    Gym

Yeah, I work out. 2 hours a day, 4 days a week. I switch up muscle groups a lot. Chest, tris and abs/back, bis and abs/legs and abs/cardio or chest and back/bis and tris/legs and abs/cardio and abs I do 5 sets for each work out and at least 4 workouts for each muscle group. My first and last sets are a warmp up and a cool down set.
  23. That is a beautiful little tanker. Unfortunately, the only tanker I own is 6594, but an updated version of 6695 (or more probable, a MOC inspired by it) would rock... I'm still working on unpacking after my move, but let's see if I can through something together in the next week or so.
  24. In which case, I believe I'm gonna have to BL a multitude of them. It's nice to see that piece in a new color.
  25. I listen to my music loud! Oh wait... I mean, through an Ipod. I have over 20K songs in my music collection, so an Ipod on shuffle is how things usually get listened to.
