LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Asterios replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
At first TRU didn't place a limit but towards the end they were imposing a 5 per person limit like LEGO stores were and the online site was(which opened the limit at the end.) -

thats another thought too, on the other hand though it looks like the ring would mess up the helmet where it is attached, and also a 5 keychain limit too. -

hes cheaper then that on BL as it goes though hes the only unique fig in a pricey set so doubt hes going to go cheap, all the other figs are rehashes from other sets and not much todo in the set other then him, so he will be pricey until he comes out in a smaller set. -
Cheerleader gone but still 2 other loose figs and a complete set will trade with people who have good feedback on BL or on here.

Well I liked the things that you liked and didn't like the things you didn't like, eagerly awaits the next issue.

try bricklink since you see the bag on the chair in this image below? that was those wheels and I sold them all to a reseller on BL.

My Customization Philosophy
Asterios replied to Saber Scorpion's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Luxor I'd say you and me are of the same mind bend when it comes to minifig customization, we will use BF and BA items and make decals and other assorted acces. for our minifigs but we pretty much draw the line at actual cutting and damaging of LEGO, but the question that begs answering is where does the line of purist and non-purist lie? and are there other forms of non-purism? like sadistic non-purist? (those that cut and glue LEGO) -
Capes? What do you use?

My Customization Philosophy
Asterios replied to Saber Scorpion's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
wonders what catagory I would fit into? I make custom minifigs and I use BF and BA parts to add to them and decals and stickers and paper, but I do not cut LEGO or such or make clay parts, also I do build structures and such, so where would I fit? -
so thats whos been drinking my good stuff then, time to change the lock.

me, i'm currently making my Capes for my crusaders out of paper so when one gets worn just cut out another one, will eventually toughen the capes up with tape on both sides to make them last longer. but overall this is a cheap easy method, works and only costs you the price of printing paper and ink, unless a solid color, and with paper you can print what designs you like on them, heres some of mine here: -

Well for starters I don't doubt the straight shooters list here, and traders here are not up to par and i've even done a trade here myself before, guess you could say i'm more then comfortable using BL, since i've earned over 1K feedback there as a seller 100% possitive as a buyer not so much so (1 negatvie beyond my control), so I take pride in my shipping of product and turn around time, if you guys want to tell me what you got and what you want to trade for go for it.

I'll be honest Don't care if you believe me or not I saw them at Walmart for $1.97 and $1.98 at Target when I went back other day they were gone, got no reason to lie nor do I care too. if you don't believe me thats your choice, get over it, as it goes i'm not even holding onto the ones I have since while their ok, their just that, nothing fancy or totally useful in my mind so don't need them. -
because the trade would be done thru the BL store for all intents and purposes to insure both parties follow thru since failure to follow thru would reflect on their reputation, unless you want to risk sending your part of the trade first and me sending once received.

thing of it is, i'm not the only person, you think this is the only site people report on? heck on BL Canadians are also reporting finding them in Walmarts and you can bet if its in Canada its in the USA too since its the same group and so on, furthermore I didn't even know they were in targets till I heard of someone finding them there so I went and checked, also someone on these forums even said they were in the K-mart system, so just because alot of people aren't saying they are in Walmarts and targets does not make it so, go and look, and who knows your stores probably did have them but they sold out of them. as to your 25th. anniversary G.I.Joes they flooded the market with those, still see some here and there on pegs around here. now if you collect hotwheels there is a few dozen collectors who clear out the shelves here on those that are worth collecting, but as far as LEGO goes not many at all. -
I love it a smart car army.

cool but do you go down to Stockton to buy your LEGO? well in Walmart here I saw them at the Self Checkout section by the collectible card games and such, same with Target, also the other target I saw them in the checkstands and such, have yet to see any in the toy aisle but heard someone saw them in the toy aisle in Livermore at a target there. -

its simple 99% of us are in the same lug groups which consists of over a 100 mile swath around here i'm part of SacBB and Baylug and know whos all in this town I've met both AFOLs that live in this town and the couple that live relatively nearby, we have advertised looking for other AFOLs in area na dhave group gatherings and such but very few who partake, furthermore the amount of LEGO in the stores here is a bunch, I'm known as the LEGO guy at the local TRU and I don't buy a whole bunch of LEGO there, and they know me at target and Walmart and i'm still the big buyer in those stores, so I can safely assume not alot of AFOLs around here other then the few I know of. -

Well lets see there are only a handful of AFOLs in my area and so far none of them have bought a full box to my knowledge and yet I've seen several whole boxs vanish from stores, so they are most likely being bought by resellers, already the 4 boxs I saw at walmart other day are gone and so are the ones at Target and TRU is cleaned out, all stores that had them you would never know they had them at all since they go fast, meanwhile the secondary market is being glutted with them and you can still find reletively cheap boxs there. I'm glad I have my complete set and once moved will build a display for them but i'm not even going to try to buy more or even army build with them since its cheaper for me to make my own. -
get the PoP set since it has much cooler stuff and better figure count per price while the kingdoms castle is not really that much to brag about.

Article: The Bargain Hunter's Guide to LEGO
Asterios replied to Eilif's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sad thing is i've used all those sources, but ever since eBay came out its been harder and harder to find LEGO anywhere or even at a decent price, now a days I see people at flea markets and garage sales selling LEGO for more then it would cost me in the store, craigslist is a joke now too since 90% of ads for LEGO are people looking to buy LEGO, thrift shops and goodwills used to be good locations to buy LEGO but now several shops have orders to reship sealed boxs of LEGO and such to another location even(I asked about that and they said it was corporate policy now), and loose LEGO is dumped. So Blame eBay for making LEGO more readily available and for causing the secondary market to sky rocket in price.
