  1. This, my friend, is a WIP I'll definetly be following, your technique is one to admire!, and your first ship looked awesome! but I guess probably it lacked a little more lenght, as other already stated, still an excellent look!
  2. Can you upload an image to figure out what you were referring? I barely got what you were proposing.. Anyway, little update: Just something made fast, gotta work more on other details, but that's what the big skeleton figure would be, more or less....maybe smaller, because this is way too big in proportions compared to the actual ship design.
  3. Yeah! but that's just something that I would need to fix when everything is done and I decide to actually buy the pieces :P Hope I can make it too!..this is one of the 3 projects set for this year LDD 4.0, but yeah, you gotta unlock all the pieces with the extended mode. The lanterns are just something to decorate, for the moment, havent seen how big or small they are in the real design, sometyhing to fix for later. Theres some little stairs that gets you to the top of the stern, they aren't that noticeable, but they are there xD had little space to play with, I did the best I could, guess that'd be something to fix on the real model, when i actually build it in real life.
  4. Today's update Fixed one or two things..there's still more to fix and lots of details to add :)
  5. Thanks! I really appreciate it. And yeah, my wallet is already screaming on the mere thought of buying all this xD .. that's why I want to be sure every piece will be used properly, doesn't matter if I have to rebuild some parts or even all. Btw! you mentioned had your own set, may I see it? Thanks again for your comment
  6. Yeah, I was thinking on that touch for the windows, but I didn't tried it until you actually suggested it, and indeed they look way better! thanks for the advice, and for your comment, as I said in the first post, I'm just a little newbie, but I like to think that everyone has something to teach me, and I gladly take suggestions so I can improve my skills and techniques :) What will take ages would be LDD generating the instructions hehe, and yeah, I guess something looks weird on the roofing thing, maybe everything .. I got to think on something to fix that, at least I'm little by little finishing it Btw, i got an update for today: Night~
  7. Finally I came up with an idea to fix many problem at once The pics: There's something that bugs me thought, in the original design, the folds of cloth made of wood that are over the spears seems a little like a roof on my design hehe, hope I can fix that working over them, but so far it was the only idea I had to build that part :P I do not really like how they did it on the Lego design 4195 QAR, but if any of you have any better idea, I'm all ears :) Until the next update!
  8. I came to a point where, either continue with a lot of imperfections and inconsistencies, or start the stern castle all over again :/ Here some pics to show some issues: Following pic shows some more details i added on decks, curving things and I dont know, some other stuff that I can't remember at the moment. In the last pic you could realize where the maze begins hehe, a one with no exits. First i started to build some really nice details on the captain's cabin walls, (and I know it's not right that I admit it, but it can't be helped, these walls were so beautiful), based on this: Everything was going wonderful, when suddenly, for some reason I realized something was missing, and a second later I understood that there was no stairs from the cabin to the upper part of the stern, where the steering wheel is located. After hours of figuring out how to install both the wall details and the stairs in a so reduced space, i couldn't do better than this: Theres also other things to concern about, but I guess tomorrow I'll be thinking on something to fix them, or to improve the actual desing, before deciding to just scrap all and start building again, which something very inside of me tells me it's the correct way to fix the flaws of design. Last pic of a complicated inconsistency.. I already got couple of ideas on how to fix almost everything, but it will be a work for tomorrow, so, for now, good night :)
  9. thanks for the tip! the sails are gonna be the ones from the lego set, im gonna buy the ones missing from bricklink, they are about $1 or so, not so expensive I did some research a couple months ago about the historical ship, and read a lot from blackbeard, including his epic last battle against Maynard and his sloops, so interesting and exciting hehe. im still missing the indoor decoration, furniture and eveything inside..imma do it after the stern castle is finished..but already got some ideas on what to install on the navigation room, and the captain's cabin,.. also the lower decks includes a jail, and a storage room.. got no space for any other room, but guess the ones listed are the only ones shown in the movie, so thats what im gonna build .. but im gonna build some nice interiors, for ur delight wait for it
  10. wow! u have the historical QAR blueprints? how nice! where did u find those? may u share em ? i would love to take a peek at those :P its the renegade runner, the smaller of all ships, still it was my childhood's eternal companion in all my ship battles and pillages! loved that set, alongside with the skull island :) it almost makes me drop a tear only to remember those times :,D ... its a shame i was kind of too young to take proper care of my legos, that and i had 3 younger brothers that loved to bite my bricks xD.. but well, after 17 years of this set to be in my hands, its in a pretty good shape i gotta say xD masts and rigging i guess would be the last thing im gonna build.. im also aware of thos riggings, but theres no triangular long rigging, just redish brown...the black one is rectangular :/ .. but theres a small black triangular one :D .. also im planning on doing the sails as follows: 1 small one on the bow, alongside with a triangular one, then the 1st mast with 3 sails, then 2 triangular ones between 1st and second masts, .. (got no idea what their names are xD) then 3 on the second mast.. and lastly 1 triangular on the last, with the smaller one on top that u mentioned earlier :) the skeleton figurehead im gonna rob a cool idea i saw on one moc, the only thing i liked from it i gotta admit xD.. it was soo well done and detailed.. that would be work for tomorrow i guess :)
  11. hehe, i mostly like it all :P ... but theres one or two things that annoys me, 1st, theres no way to climb from the lower decks... or the main and only decks hehe, to the cap's cabin.. nor to the upper part where the steering wheel is,..also,.. why only 3 cannons? .. come on! 4 is the number for a ship of this size!.. and lastly.. why do they put a chef minifig instead of scrum? .. hehe, but overall i like the set,.. that why i bought it :P
  12. dark red would be the definitive choice, but i dont know if all the pieces that i used for it really exist on that colour :P .. hehe.. btw.. yesterday i finally built my 4195 QAR, and learnt a thing or too, mostly on color scheme, and varying it, .. also, almost all bricks fromt the set are in dark color version..like dark gray.. dark brown, dark red.. and it looks really nice like that... i'd be trying to change it on my desing :P heres 1 pic of QAR
  13. thats the idea :) still im searching a place for it, im afraid my room is to small for it XD
  14. thanks for the comments, i really appreciate em, makes it even funnier to keep on with the project :) and well, today's update its only for details i have been adding, as i figure out how to continue with the cap's cabin :P, got certain idea of how to do some parts, but its gonna take some brain to do it without losing proportions.. anyway, here the pics.. wide view of the ship: found some cables that can be bended for some deailts on the bow.. its not that easy as it'd be in real life, and it was taking more time than i expected, so i didnt spent more time on it, gotta do a review of it later when i enter the final steps of the building. added some more details on decks, as the double gold line, that QAR has, well.. at least in some pics like this one: so i tryied to emulate it,.. hope i can do it on all the ship contours this is some idea i had to set the anchors, 1 on each side of the ship, while the chains are inside, the top of the mechanism is on the upper decks ...but it was difficult to bend enough the chains, so i decided to show it here, even tho it isnt installed in the actual ship yet.. but u get the idea.. some more details for the stairs to the lower decks details details and this.. i know the original doesnt have it, but i like d it,.. adds some personal touch :P .. one more pic to show the sides : so thats about it, hehe, hope i can finish it by the end of the next week :)
  15. Another update, making some details on the stern, and well.. finishing :P feedback is always welcome :)
  16. So nice and fearfully decorated! ... u got the touch when adding details, i like it! :) i might use some help on LDD btw, i have been getting some difficulties on certain patrs of my ship, and looking at urs, i see that u used some techniques that i also wanted to use, but failed, due to LDD not being as versatile as i need it to be :P Anyway!, keep up the excellent work!, i also love the sails with the lego scorpion design, makes it look like a classic pirate set!
  17. Well, heres another little update, had some issues thinking how the stern would be, got some designs in paper, and well... finally i have an idea of how this could be done :P the pics: thanks for ur comments, it encourages me even more to do everything in my skill to try and make a nice and accurate ship :) btw, got lots of images to see deatils of the deck, upper parts, and well, almost everything, but i made the colors based on this specific image: and this mostly some stuff i admit i do it as i desire to, some others i try very hard to be done as the original design,..overall, guess this time is going well.. but i'd always love any feedback :) Happy new year :D
  18. Well, it turned out to be more work than i thought.. but it doesnt matter, i fixed lots of thing from the former design, this one is looking good :) opinions?
  19. Last update of the day.. just realized i did it a little to wide or tall, maybe both, so i lost some proportions by being not large enough..but will b something to fix for tomorrow..suppose with just 1 middle hull piece would suffice.. anyway, the pics: also, LDD is starting to get slow..maybe i should be deleting my former ship..also a task for tomorrow.. :P
  20. slowly rising from the dept of the seas,...hehe, another update Cant wait to start that huge stern QAR has :D
  21. Another update, about to start the nice parts of the ship.
  22. Thanks for ur advice, it is well received, and...well i did started with the "curving" thing, and ohh god.. it was so much trouble to disarm and start redesigning that i decided to just start from scrach, at least i gained little exp on the last attemp, so this time i started designing a much wider and higher ship, and hopefully a more accurate one, since the last one was kind of.. childish :P ... i couldnt help to do it, never had so many pieces to build whatever i wanted hehhe. anyway, heres some screenshots: Btw, if u can note on the 1st SS, i was starting to add some extra details on the front, but i couldnt place the chains, they just refused to be manipulated :P dunno how to do it, still looking how hehe
  23. Well, it is slowly taking form...added the extended mode for LDD, and replaced all crappy custom things for the original ones..reoriented some things.. and.. still trying to desing something cool for the bow..dunno what yet..hope anyone could give me any advice :P suppose i should be doing lots of mistakes xD theres still lots of work left, but there i go..it have been an extremely nice and fun learning, and it would be twice that ammount when i finally decide to build it on real life :) happy holidays to everyone
  24. This is amazing! i could use some ideas for my own project, we are working on the same ship :D but urs are by far more detailed and ..well, finished.. Any advice you could give me will be well received :) here my thread: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=63850 thanks!
  25. [pid][/pid] LDD 10B The project is finally done :D There might be some little changes that I could be doing, but overall, I think she's complete, so I present you, my design of Queen Anne's Revenge: Details of the interiors: (LDD has no bottles, this is supposed to be the room where blackbeard stores his ships as throphies) The navigation room: Captain cabin: Thanks to everyone who visited my humble thread and a double thanks for those who commented and left their suggestions, which were all well received and appreciated, you really encouraged me to do my best on this project :) There might be several things that could be improved, I'm sure of that, but I guess these would be left for the real ship, when I actually get in my hands the order from bricklink and start building her :) Also, as I promised, I did a little index of the progress I had in these 3-4 weeks, you can check it here, instead of scrolling, thought it could be useful The beggining, 1st try: Starting hull and stuff inside gun decks Realized of the flaws of early desing, started from scratch: Comparing both designs Update on hull View of the upper deck Comparing both designs, on a more advanced stage Again, I had to start from the beggining, this time for good! This one is a little larger Learning lots of stuff from my mistakes, starting upper decks The beggining of that huge stern More progress on decks and stern My 4195 QAR I finished that day..alongsie with my precious Renegade Runner :D Details on stern A more completed stern, starting the roofings Some more details, and progres on all the ship Details are what takes more time, no lie Figure on the bow, kind of clunky and not very good looking, gotta fix that hehe Details details... more details Image I used to base details on decks Last details on decks, here and there Almost there.. Guess it's done... :D Furniture I plan to use inside rooms Final post show my fleet, I know, something out of topic, but I had to ^ ^
