Same here. I am very loyal to Lego, but I will give up this hobby if it comes to that.

And every Knight set ever made has swords and the mid-evil time was very brutal. Does Lego not have a patent on its blocks look, materials and design along with the locking system of the bricks? How can they continue to make rip-off blocks?

The grey may be the new chrome. The new chrome is very dull.

The new light-up figs are going to be great! But why the same tie again? Can Lego not change it or make it in a different color like light grey and black or dark grey? This is the same tie we have been issued in like 4 sets now. |-/

Man, how long did that take you.. with 50% off? Jon. I knew what I wanted and I picked it out in like 2 minutes. The key chains and PAB were added when I found out that I had $20 left over from my budget to spend. :') :D

Same here! ;) I just got the chance to get double the sets for half the price and could not pass on it. ;)

*faints* :oo Jon. LOL!! :D ;) Now I just need to find the time to build everything. We were kinda running low on PAB, however, I got a large cup of bushes and a large cup of trees before running out of money.

Yes. On friday everything in the store was 50% off for employees, including gift cards. I also picked up an entire SF train, a High Speed Train and two train sheds. I also got 3 advent calendars for free. :D I wish I had more money to spend, but it comes up again in the summer. ;)

I have never seen a LOTR movie but my question is... Why didn't Lego get the rights to make LOTR sets? Just imagine how cool they would be. I don't want to get off topic, just wondering.

Any word on new Harry Potter or train sets? Does there have to be a new Harry Potter movie in order to have new sets? IMDB has three new Harry Potter movies listed for the coming years... Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2008) One of the movies is listed for 05. Will we have new sets? And will there be anymore Spiderman sets between now and Spiderman 3 in 2007?

Simply put, if Lego cuts the quality of the products, they are dead. They are going to cost cut themselves out of business. Megablock has been kicking Lego's butt because they give you more product at a cheaper price, but what would customers rather have? We have had a bunch of customers lately that bought Megablocks because they were cheaper, but now are replacing them with Lego because Lego stays together and do not break.

The new chrome is bad but my biggest concern comes from the last part of the article... What in the hell is up with this? Are they going Megablock? Will they start to use Megablock style cheap plastic? Lego is going about their money situation in the wrong way. Cutting back on the colors you use is a good thing but don't change the product. The product is the best thing you have going. Lego must change the relationship between the retail divisions and shop at home and get the supply chain worked out. Right now there is an internal fight that is destroying the company. It is just very sad to see, esp. when I work for them.

Lego works in very odd ways.

This set (7244 Speedboat) does float. The back of the box shows it floating in a bath tub and it has a real motor. This set is expensive because of the large molded one piece bottom. This set is also much larger than you think. It is not a small boat.

They may have been told to send them back to corp. We have been phasing them out by giving away a free mini with a $100 purchase. I have not been into work yet today so I will check it out. You are right about the sales, there are not many at the Lego stores. Our store does accept coupons from Toys R Us and others but we do not advertise our policy anywhere in the store, you just have to know about it. So I could bring in an ad that states Buy 1 Lego Set, Get 1 for 50% off from TRU and your store would accept it? TZ Sometimes we will allow this, but it is the coupons for the most part that we will accept. Right now we will accept all coupons like TRU's big toy book coupons.
