    [MOC] Geonosian Starfighter

Hi everyone, I have been busy working on a mechanism for the Droid Factory for Geonosis. That is still ongoing and last weekend I was working on something else. I have build two Geonosian Starfighters. There is another picture in the Flickr album. Feedback is appreciated. Sander
  2. NEW MODELS WILL APPEAR IN THE REPLIES TO THIS THREAD Models now included in this thread: 1. Gungan Bongo 2. Sith Infiltrator 3. Nubian Royal Starship 4. Wookiee Catamaran 5. Firespeeder 6. Porax-38 (P-38) Starfighter 7. Homing Spider Droid 8. Hardcell Transport 9. Lucrehulk-Class Battleship 10. C-9979 Landing Craft 11. Droid Tri-Fighter 12. Geonosian Starfighter 13. Self-Propelled Heavy Artillery (SPHA-T) (NEW) Hello again everyone I hope everyone is safe and well. It is time to open up another thread with MINIs from the neglected prequels. GUNGAN BONGO First up, the Gungan Tribubble Bongo from Ep. I. I had the model from the original LEGO Star Wars video game in my collection for a long time: I had been meaning to build one myself for a while as this just looked so big on the stand next to Jar-Jar! The lockdown gave me the time and the opportunity. I decided to use the 2x2 transparent domes (astromech head) for the bubbles. I have seen a lot of models use transparent dishes but they just look too flat in my opinion. In essence, for the most part, this is a scaled down version of the model above with some newer parts. There are no clever techniques or anything like that but it looks quite striking on the stand with the Jar Jar minigifure and adds some colour to the collection. SITH INFILTRATOR Secondly, The Scimitar (again from Ep. I), also known as the Sith Infiltrator, which was a heavily modified Star Courier and the personal starship of Darth Maul. Like the Bongo I had previously had a LEGO version in my collection, a modified version of the Microfighter convention model from years ago. Again, this just looked big on the stand so with time on my hands I built my own. The nose section is not built using the normal wedge plates technique as there is not the correct size or gradient for this scale (nose is 4 studs wide). Instead I have used the 1x4 plate with offset and 1x8 tiles to create the dagger shape. A 1x3 plate holds the nose construction in shape towards the nose. There is also a 1x1 round plate with hole on a jumper plate underneath the 1x6 dark grey tile holding that in place. Apart from that no clever techniques really. The bottom dish is held there by the stud on a technic half pin which is in the holes from the round plates. And yes, I know the top dish is cracked (it is old) if you have spotted that. I have tried to hide this with the colour picker function in paint – I will have to order another from bricklink. I love how this one looks on display with Darth Maul and his probe droid. Let me know what you think. More soon. Jon

    [MOC] Geonosian smugglers

Here is a small MIC that will be integrated into a large Star Wars layout of around 100 baseplates (32x32) planned for BrickMania Anvers on 30/11 and 01/12 this year. My section should be around 28 baseplates, inclduing the 2 I present here that were built by my son. Smuggling Geonosians by Veynom, on Flickr Given the Star Wars theme and the fact we decided to go for a desert-like landscape, my son wanted to participate by building something slightly more original than the usual Empire vs. Rebels. He therefore decided to go for some kind of smugglers that would be caught by surprise by some famous bounty hunters (Bossk & Boba Fett). He started with the cave, added details around it then upon starting the second plate and the small rock, he asked me for a battered original ship that could fit well with his mini-story. In short: "Dad, no TIE-Fighter of any kind!" Take away: Idea, landscape , minifig selection & positioning: all by my son (13y old). The supposedly flying pice of junk: all my fault. Smuggling Geonosians by Veynom, on Flickr Personally, I like very much the positioning of his minifigs. It is very dynamic and immediately helps us in understanding the situation. Smuggling Geonosians by Veynom, on Flickr The shuttle is a rebuilt of the official set, a bit longer and a bit more detailed and much more colored. Recycled Sheathipede by Veynom, on Flickr She is sturdy, swooshable, and playable with opening cockput and rear doors. Recycled Sheathipede by Veynom, on Flickr Feel free to comment, I will pass them along to my son.
  4. Geonosians are always good for a quick Imperial scalp. With Imperial movements on once Black Sun worlds, there is plenty of opportunity for some prey that has been flushed out of hiding. It also doesn't hurt that the new local garrisons will be available for easy delivery. Political upheavals are good for business.

    LEGO Geonosian Arena MOC

This is my rendition of the Geonosian Arena from STAR WARS Attack Of The Clones. This has always been one of LEGO's most glaring omissions from the Star Wars line, hence why I decided to test out this MOC. OK, it's not excessively massive or complicated, but I just think it makes a neat little playset. Comment your opinions. Also don't forget to check out my LEGO IDEAS page for more information on this, and please support! :) from there you can read all about the design plan, the history, and also see any other photos of the MOC. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/158217

    [BH - Geonosian] Disarmed

[bH - Geonosian] Disarmed Location: Ord Mantell We landed on Ord Mantell at around 6 am. Our connection said, that target owns a small piece of land in the eastern corridor, section B12, small part in the north-western region. The part with largest population of wild Savrips. We have to took some more serious weapons with us. Unprepaired Geonosian is a easy task. But if we'd had to beat a Savrip or two, well, that would bring some troubles. We left the ship in one of the secured hangars. You can never be to sure. I was very eager to complete the task. False informations made us fly to a lot of planets before we heard that our target's hiding on Fondor. This was true but unfortunately he left two days before we got there. Luckily we got new informations and now we're here. Monty was nervous. He was on Ord Mantell before so he knows it's a dangerous place. And it's even more dangerous when you're hunting someone. You can quickly become the hunted one. But so far everything seemed to be okay. He and his partner in this mission, Sid Bass were approaching the target. Locator said they're only 50 metres away. They quickly got there. "Sid, I think we're too late" said Monty. "Really? What makes you think that" replied Sid. "Well," said Monty, "I believe this mission is accomplished. But who could do something like this?" Sid smiled and said: "Have you ever seen a savrip before?" "Yes ..." said Monty. "I played dejarik a lot when I was young and ..." "No, I mean the real savrip. Have you ever seen it in the battle? Well you don't want to. Let's leave." ---------- More pictures in the spoiler.
  7. Hello! Here is my updated arena beasts for Lego ideas. I got the basic shapes and characters made pretty quickly but I spent a lot of time re-modeling them to try to get the perfect lego feel while still including the right amount of details and funtions. Here is the Reek: Here is the Acklay: And finally here is the Nexu: Questions Why did you decide to produce a Lego Ideas set Geonosis Arena? It has never been done before other than in the form of a prototype model (atleast one) and so I strongly think it should be made as a Star Wars set as it would be new and unique. It would be another nice addition away from the many reworked sets. The Arena beasts have never been released before aswell so it is not only the Arena that would be new but many of its characters. Prototype Set for those who have not seen it: Which is your favourite Arena Beast? My favourite is the Acklay beacause of how it looks like a mix between a Praying Mantis,(along with a triceratops for the head and a criceket for the tail/spike section) and a dragon which I both like. It used to be the Reek when I went to see the film. The Reek was the first Aotc figure which I managed to get after having missed a chance to get a protoype micro machines/michro machine sort of set with all three of them together. If this gets made into a Lego set what Lego Star Wars Creatures would you like to see next? From the films I would like to see the three Nabbo underwater creatures, (Colo Claw Fish, Opee Sea Killer and a smaller scale Sando Aqua Monster), a Bantha and also the mouth of a space slug with a smaller scale Millenium Falcon. Outside of the films I would like to see a Felucian Rancor/Bull Rancor, a Katarn and a Krayt Dragon. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/87724 Lastly thank you for taking the time to look at this post/project I really appreciate it! Looking forward to your replies!
