The Green grocer was my start in collecting the modular buildings. Since then, my collection yearly grew towards the 8 buildings I own right now. Besides that, I started also to collect the advanced models like the Sydney Opera House, the Tower Bridge and the Taj Mahal. I really wanted to have the Modular buildings Cafe Corner and Street Market. Plus the Eiffel Tower as well. But these buildings are too pricey for my budget. So I started to collect the separate bricks and rebuild with sources as Pick-a-Brick, Missing Pieces and of course Bricklink. So all new bricks for these projects. The Cafe Corner is almost complete. Unfortunately, some parts are too expensive (the price of one door is about 50 euro!) And some parts (like the windows) I have replaced with cheaper solutions. The result is good enough for me. About 1/3 of the bricks I already had in my collection of new bricks. The rest of the bricks were just below 200 euro's. Not a bad price if you compare with a completely new one. And now I am going to wait if the doors will be cheaper one day. For the Street Market, the same applies: I have collected most of the parts, but not all of them. Still thinking of some cheaper solutions with (almost) the same result. The bricks are waiting in a box, ready to be build. Currently, I am in the process of building the Eiffel Tower. The good news is that I have ordered all of the parts. Half of the bricks were already in my possession, the other half I needed to order. Total cost of the order is appr. 300 euro's, so in comparison with buying it new for the current price, it is relatively cheap. The base plates were delivered in the wrong green, so I need to re-order that one day. Can't build right now, I am still waiting for the "Missing pieces" delivery. On the picture, you see the Work-in-Progress. Not only building the sets is nice, but the process of searching all the pieces was nice too. I found out that Bricklink is normally the most cheap (or should I say, less expensive) but this is not always true. Next, the Missing Pieces site and Pick-A-Brick (both officially Lego) have different prices. And sometimes one site says "sold out" although the other site has still availability. Strange but true. I'm back with a revised (and instruction-ized) version of Florence Cathedral (Duomo of Santa Maria del Fiore) I originally created back in 2017, but never posted on EB. The original model was built with real bricks in Florence Cathedral Museum thanks to the great team of Toscanabricks LEGO fan group, excited by the digital pics of the model I showed on an Italian LEGO forum. I finally managed to make instructions for it and I modified the domes (both Brunelleschi's and the three twins above the apses) with the newly released 1x2 rounded plates. I included a pic of the original model displayed at Museo dell'Opera del Duomo at the bottom of the gallery (photo not by me). Hope you like it!! (great photo by Claudio Giovannini)

INTRODUCTION Today i received my brand new 2014 21019 Eiffel Tower, and i decided to do a review of it.s This brings my LEGO Architecture collection to 20 sets, the only one that i am missing is the 21001 Hancock Center. I was fortunate enough to be in the US at the time of the 21050 Architecture Studio launch so i snatched it instantly. Maybe i will do a review of that also. So the construction begins... CONCLUSIONS AND SCORE: Design: 10/10 It couldn't get any closer to the real thing at this size. Build: 9/10 A little repetition, but overall nice building techniques. Parts: 7/10 Good grey/dark grey assortment, but nothing too special aside from a few pieces. Value: I could not give it a value as i'm collecting all of them even if i pay a little more. But at 45 Euros, i think this is in the standard price range for an Architecture set. Overall: 10/10 I'm a little bit subjective here, but i believe is one of the best Architecture sets. Definitely top three for me. It looks great as a display piece and it has the perfect size and proportions. I recommend it heavily. I noticed recently that there's been no topic for future landmark buildings (mods please merge/delete if I'm wrong) so I thought I'd better make one. There have been 6 landmark building sets made by TLG so far: 3450 Statue of Liberty (2000) 10181 Eiffel Tower (2007) 10189 Taj Mahal (2008) 10214 Tower Bridge (2010) 10234 Sydney Opera House (2013) 10253 Big Ben (2016) The Statue of Liberty is technically not part of this line but of the 'Sculptures' line that also includes 3723 LEGO Mini-Figure and 3724 LEGO Dragon, but I have included it here as the only Creator Expert set not officially of the 'Buildings' line that is a building known worldwide. The Taj Mahal was rereleased in 2018 as 10256. But the big question is.... what next? The building has to be something that can be sold and recognised globally, and would be a very large set (the smallest so far is the Statue of Liberty with 2882 pieces). It would also probably need to be something of architectural interest - not just a big glass skyscraper (the Burj Khalifa falls into this category). Towers are possible, but as the last one was a tower, I think it's unlikely. 10253 also had a large extension to the side which made it far more interesting. If you ignore the Taj Mahal entirely (or at least the rerelease) there have been buildings in 2007, 10, 13, and 16, so it would make sense to have one in 2019. The Taj Mahal rerelease is now the only one available, as Big Ben and Tower Bridge have both just been retired from LEGO’s range. It would therefore make sense to have one this year, with no others available apart from the Taj Mahal. So what is it? Share your thoughts in the comments below - but please no 'I want' or similar.
