    Doomben Race Course

This year, the first model train show for BrisBricks was to be held at Doomben Race Course here in Brisbane. I was unsure as to what to build for my tables on the LEGO train display. Then it hit me; build the race course including the grandstands. The result has been very popular at train shows and a mini Expo. There has been much excitement from the audience as the horses race down the straight in the Doomben Cup. The starting barrier comes with flashing lights for the starting signal. We even had streakers attempt to disrupt the Cup. Luckily the judge had a camera ready in case there was a close finish. Each race had a random winner. Here is a video of the Doomben Cup. It was a lot of fun building the race course and even more fun seeing the smiles on faces when the horses 'gallop' down the track.
