I was really hoping there would be more discussion on this somewhere. I LOVE the show and love the work that went into this set, but the $250 price tag is a very hard pill to swallow. Making it more expensive than the Town Hall. Part of me wants to do something really dumb and buy it though...

WOW! That looks fantastic! Inspiring work, thanks for sharing it!

Yeah I like that a lot. I wonder how much an alternate colored Green Grocer like that would cost to build?

I can't believe that hasn't occurred to me until now. I need to start buying pirate sets! How stupid of me! *smacks forehead* -
LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
Deefuzz replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
So the Hayabusa is going to be for the Japanese market only. Is there some way for non Japanese people to get their hands on it other than ebay? Are there any good online stores to import Lego sets from? I'm used to only dealing with local US stores and Lego.com when it comes to buying Lego, but I am familiar with importing action figures from shops that specialize in that sort of thing. Just never saw any Lego stuff before. -
I've just completely given up on owning Market Street, Cafe Corner, or Green Grocer. I've been aware of the modulars since Cafe Corner, but kept passing on them because of their price. I've decided to stop doing that now and just join the big boy club and purchased the Fire Brigade. Never will pass on a modular again after seeing how high those prices skyrocket after they disappear. I'll get the VIP mini set of the modulars to have a more "complete" set, but I will always have regret passing on Cafe Corner and Green Grocer :(

Brickworld Chicago 2012 Registration is Open
Deefuzz replied to BrickworldBryan's topic in Brickworld
I've never been to a Brickworld before but I am very familiar with conventions. Are the workshops/panels on Thursday and Friday still good for a newbie? I won't have any MOC's to display, but was still thinking of the full access registration to see if I can learn anything from the presentations. Also what does the "goody bag" usually consist of? -
That's what excited me the most. Consider it bought on site if the Merc with a Mouth is in it!

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up, will be setting the DVR when I get home from work today!

Very awesome article. It's so cool to see "elite" class athletes dig the same thing I do. :) I wonder what other celebrities and athletes are into Lego? I would love to see some of those collections!

Always wanted this one as a kid :( Nice images and review, makes me want it even more now!

Amazing work! I added my support to the Cuusoo site. I would LOVE to have one (or two) of these!

Hi all, I'm Deefuzz. I'm a long time Lego fan but actually just started getting back into buying the sets. I had some great sets as a child, but unfortunately all of my childhood toys are long gone (product of being a military brat and moving around a lot). I'm a pretty avid collector of many things, mainly Transformers, GI Joes, and He-Man. I've strayed away from buying Legos in the past due to the cost, some of the sets seemed a bit pricey. The main one I recall was wanting to buy the Lego Batman set which had the Batmobile and an ice cream truck, and I think it was somewhere around $99. And then more recently passed up on one of the Spongebob sets that had the big Pineapple house, and now both sets are long gone and going for huge dollars on ebay. I never realized there was a big community of Lego fans out there and that these pieces tend to vanish from store shelves and resurface on ebay for a lot more money. So I have finally been convinced that if I see a set I want to just go ahead and buy it, because if I don't I will regret it. I started off recently with the Lego Star Wars anniversary Darth Vader Tie Fighter and the Midi Milennium Falcon (another one I always wanted and passed up on was the Star Wars Rogue Shadow). I haven't had the chance to open them up and build them yet, but I look forward to doing so. I've managed to track down a few sets I wanted within the last couple of weeks, I was able to get a City set on clearance, as well as a couple of Power Miners sets, and even a Bionicle. I think I have begun with a decent cross section of Legos, and look forward to the future with optimism. I've also been a big fan of the Lego video games, I look forward to the same great Lego charm from the upcoming Harry Potter and Lego Universe titles. My fiance is from Chicago (we currently live in St. Louis) and we make frequent trips up, and those tend to take us to the Lego stores up there. Even though I never bought anything before I always marveled over a lot of the sets. We plan on heading up again in a couple of weeks so I may end up making my first purchase from one of the Lego stores, and if we have time on one of these visits then I see a trip to Legoland in the future. Anyways, glad to be here. It seems to be the best and most active Lego community online, so I figured after lurking for a little bit I might as well register and post. Sorry it was such a long post though, if you made it this far then thanks!

Incredible. Great review, and thanks a lot for putting all the time and effort into the writeup and the pictures. I'm not really all that into Pirates, but this ship looks like a must have!

Wow. I never got any of the original Harry Potter stuff, and to be honest I don't really know everything that was in that line. I am very excited to have the opportunity to purchase both Hogwarts and the Hogwarts Express! I hope they are reasonably priced.

Review: 7590 Toy Story Woody and Buzz to the Rescue
Deefuzz replied to Pugsly's topic in LEGO Licensed
Wow, that looks really great! Much better looking than the images on the box. I think this will be the next Lego set I buy, that will make it my 3rd Toy Story set! :) -
I wasn't sold on the "construct-a-" sets at first, but when I finally saw the Zurg one in person I snatched it right up. Also love the little alien dude it comes with. I have only seen the Zurg at Wal-Mart though, is it exclusive to there?
