I can't believe people stealing figures from sets is still a thing
SweetiePie88 posted a topic in General LEGO Discussion
Got a lego Minecraft Treehouse for Christmas. I spent part of the last 3 days doing stuff in my room in order to make the room to have the treehouse set up. Discovered that the box was tampered with. Discovered that the first bag was opened at a few smaller things assembled and all the figures except one swiped. Did one call to lego and was given the option of either returning the set to Walmart or doing an exchange via the lego company. Was going to do the first one but the receipt is AWOL. Called back and got a different person and was actually able to do a replacement of the figures option. :D But still, this is annoying. I am now stuck waiting probably a week for the parts to arrive and its probably going to be that long before i can actually start building. Whenever i build lego sets, i always start with the Figures plus if there's any tires in the set. -
I'm going to have to hold out for a sale or a bootleg or something. It recently occurred to me that after tax, this thing is going to be to much for me to afford. 250 is already pushing it for me and after tax, that would be at least 276

I might have to clear off part of my desk to expand Minecraft display space. Got a 5 foot table where i'm left with maybe a 2X2 foot section total of space clear. Rest is a small sterelite unit, lap, and building space. Then i have a rolling cart w/ the lego Mod of "The Mine" on it and the second shelf is 3 of the 20 dollar sets and the farm and a Built from my collection "First night" on the bookshelf.

EPIC! Anyone have a full mosaic image of it?
-
Probably 250 or so. This looks like it would use up more parts then the village and that was 200
-
No clue. They are dragging this out as long as possible so we only have those 5 set pictures, 2 piece piles, and a shadow image to go on.
-
So at the rate they are giving is images, we might have a full image in time for Christmas -_-
-
Lego minecraft facebook uploaded another image.
-
This is really getting to be Cruel though. First was the shadow image,, then the pile image, and now we are only getting a couple teeny images. I wish they'd show us what in the world is going on. :(

Groan. I don't want them to make us wait that long for info. The lego market is nearly dry as a bone for me and i'm already bored out of my mind
-
Wish they'd quit w/ the teasing. I just want to know what the set looks like and the price
-
ARGH! I wish they'd cut the teasing and cough up the set image.
-
anyone know if there's any forums that might be showing proper "Sneak peaks" of the set? *Sad puppy eyes*

@#225 when people say "That time of the year" They are most likely referring to The x-mas season. And that color does look a lot like those fake holiday plants then fall leaves.

Xmas is still 3.5 months away.

A mini-doll rant by a mini-doll fan

The old figures may be goofy looking but they are still respected b/c while they may be old, they are still the grandparents of modern minifigures. The old figures can still be used for statues/dummies in modern sets if they'd just be given a chance but the friend figures have no hope. I don't like the dolls, i like the prints. I'm a sucker for a nicely printed part. -

I'd be way happier with Minifigures. At this point the minidolls i have, not including some boxed stuff and stuff that hasn't made its way to the container, are currently stuck in a 3 section snap tray. Can't use them b/c they look horrible next to minifigures, can't swipe the hair b/c they look horrible on minifigures, yet can't trade them off since I like the prints too much. Um... people like friends and elves b/c of the great parts, animals, set design, and the fact friends has a variety of city designs. The minidolls have been a hated product since the theme was announced and was hated on just as much, if not more, then the first line and the stereotypical girly theme problems. But there's problems with there being a lack of males which is a reverse issue of normal lego sets and lack of new designs for the main 5 clothes. If there'd be a better variety people could at least have better options of mixing and matching parts -

But when it comes to pigs, they are far and few between. Latest 1 was 1 pig w/ the CMF farmer, b4 that was 2014, and b4 that was 2011. Goat only exists in the 2011 MVR set. Post market sale price is VERY expensive at about 20 bucks each. Elephant status is last seen in 2003 post market price of 30-40+ bucks each when complete, partially complete seems to be 20-25 ish. -

While it focuses on 5 friends, they also live in a city so it seems like there should be a variety of other people that reside in the town -
Lego friends retired sets price drops, or not holding value?
SweetiePie88 replied to Dunedain's topic in LEGO Town
The lack of decent post market prices probably has to do with a lot of the older friends stuff being mostly girl-sterotypical likes vs some of the more recent stuff, but not much, i.e. the amusement park, which seems to be kind of branching out. On top of that, the stuff is in that awkward stage of post market. Its too unpopular and "recently" EOL'd to have demand but not old enough to be in demand for being so lousy its actually good. Sure i collect lego friends stuff sometimes but the problem i'm facing is that there's stuff i like to get but i don't really buy much of it since it looks kind of doofy next to my regular lego stuff. However, i predict that the Elves sets are going to have more demand. The sets are mostly in beautiful neutral colors with many amazing parts. And the Elves Minidolls, unlike Friend dolls, could work in a normal lego set up b/c you could get away with saying "Hey, they're elves, they look weird" -

So basically a lego city but if they started doing a better variety of stuff and not basically nothing but the police and fire dominated theme? I would love that. As much as i despise lego friends and elves for being basically separated into its own little girls world, i am finding myself more and more drawn to it since they actually are doing a variety of buildings and neat looking stuff. On top of that, Friends has the better printed stuff, a ton of animals, and both Elves and Friends seem to use a bunch of unprinted minifigure heads. That alone is a major draw for me since that is one of my favorite parts. When it comes to the 2017 stuff, lego elves and friends stand tied at #2 on the list, only being beaten out by Lego MineCraft. -
I kind of hope that they'll do a pack that has Mumbo Jumbo or StampyLongHead's skin in it.
