I agree. Those descriptions are very generic . Fortunately the leader isn't red. In the first years of Bionicle, Hahli used to be shy.

Did anyone like the old/early Bionicles?

I recently got a Bohrok. Those were indeed great sets. They could mix functions, gears, playability, building and design very well. Unfortunately we have no gears/functions anymore (since like 2005). I'm so disapointed with it -

I like the Old Bionicle sets too much! But they're not my favorites, though. -
I want to learn more about how to take better photos. I need that very much to my reviews. I would like to join, please.

One of my first sets was a western one (Sheriff's lock-up ) and the Rapid river village is one of my most wanted sets! It included many fun features that I can't find in any set now... I agree with everything in the first post, TLG left it with more things to be explored. Great initiative! I'll sign up!

I agree with you in some parts. There are some themes that I think another company could have done better (just like Galidor). But I just disagree with you about Bionicle. Bionicle was even originated from Technic. Some of it's most complex Bionicle sets are unknown (or even ignored) by many AFOLs. Here is a link of a Bricklist I made: http://www.brickset.com/brickLists/?55 It has a personal selection of what I consider as the most complex Bionicle sets. It is also important to remember that just like every Lego theme, Bionicle have different categories. They have small, medium-sized (commonly named as canister sets), and bigger (Titans, warriors, etc.) sets. They passed through many transformations over the years. All of them are compatible, though some became more distant from technic and system. So it is hard to define what really makes them Bionicle or not. There is a common classification: Bionicle are any buildable action-figure with balljoints. But it isn't completely true: the set 8539, as example, don't moves through balljoint connections. If the newest Bionicle sets became "far" of Technic sets, those ben 10 became even more. But that don't means they are unuseful in other ways. That makes hard to classify Lego as one only form of toy...

Thanks for the images! I'm really surprised. They have very few pieces. Although I see in those "<insert that tiresome argument>" pieces a potential for Bionicle MOCing. In my point of view, this theme will bring more innovations than Bionicle. The pieces also look like more interesting than the pieces from the 2010 Bionicle sets. Then I think I'll be getting one or two. They have at least a good articulation, something we will not get with Bionicle Stars.

I completely agree! The first Blacktron and space police were humans vs. humans, but now... The aliens are indeed the heroes! That will be the way I'll play with my SP3 sets when I get one. I hope Lego recognise the Alien rights! It wasn't recognised since Mars Mission (who were captured and destroyed by humans)! Now it is the time!

It is a pity... Why the Brown figure is the one with the most of the big pieces from the theme (the upper shoulder and head/ the hands)? I would like very much to have this for more brown pieces (as it don't appear more in Bionicle), but now, I lost the interest in it. Anyways, I think I'll be getting Big Chill. The claws look like awesome! And I don't think we will get the opportunity of a "four-winged" set in Bionicle (not very soon, as we only will get "Stars" in the first part of the year).

Thanks! Be sure I'll ask the staff members if I have any question!

Thanks, WhiteFang!

Great news! I really liked the lime Kranxx. His torso have a Blacktron symbol! Now it is becoming more and more like Lego Space! I also liked the new helmet. Will it be included in Power Miners 2010?

It is what I would say. They can't be compared with Galidor (that pratically have no connection with Lego besides pins ). And well, it is in fact more Bionicle than system (so it isn't Exo-force or Knights' Kingdom like). I just want to know how is the "skeleton". I hope it is a new body or something like that. And who knows, maybe the pieces that don't have much technic holes hides more than it shows(maybe they can be mixed with system? )? The faces look like prototypes yet, look like they are in a different material...I just hope they have a "skull" or something to place it in the body.

I think that if some line replaced Bionicle, it wouldn't make much difference. Bionicle was in 2001 something very different from what it is now. In most of sets there were gears, functions and etc. Now the most common function are shooting functions. As for sets, I think it has already been replaced (Unfortunately, I think we will not get anything like the Toa Mata/Bohrok/Rahkshi or Toa Metru anymore). But of course, another (the main reason) reason to Bionicle still here with a variety of sizes (from 2001 to now, there were many changes) is the story. I think it will not end very soon.

That is why we have no canisters this winter... Does the alien who is the first in the image (I think his name is Humongousaur) have brown? If so, is it in Onewa's scheme, or a bit different?
