LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

On the bright side if you want a non-CW Mace Windu you could always just use the CW body and Seso's head so you don't have to spend so much on Palpatine's Arrest

    Which set should I buy?

Go with the GE so that you can get more of a theme going. Unless of course you have other Star Wars UCS sets, then R2 would work.

The coolest LEGO box art ever

My current favorite box art has got to be the lotr boxes. Another one I liked was PotC

    Monster Fighters 2012

Y'know this whole theme is growing on me. The hearse looks nice and every time I look at the haunted house, the more I want it. Maybe I'll make a garage in the theme of the haunted house for the hearse.
  5. I use this excuse with my folks all the time, especially due to me being at an age where drugs are all around me(20). And as far as health risks go with Lego, the only thing I can think of is stepping on a piece.

Opening sealed antique sets - wonderful or painful ?

Wow, listening to all of you talking about having all those huge sets still in box is making me super jealous. If you can afford them, open them! They're meant to be built and played with.

    REVIEW: 9471 Uruk-Hai Army

Got this set the first day it was released here in the States along with Helm's Deep and Shelob. Amazing set, and it's got one of the best applications of FFM's and it's also one of my favorite sets to take off the shelf and fidget with. I'll probably pick up another and do a reverse build to diversify my wall and add to the challenge since I'll be building the same set again.

    Which set should I buy?

Shelob. The spider is awesome and the figs are great. Gandalf's cart is meh and the only decent figure in that set is Gandalf himself. But if you can get both.
  9. I keep a majority of my sets built for a while, some staying up longer than others( Viking Longboat and MMV), modifying some( again, the Viking longboat- made it longer). When I run out of space or a set starts to bore me, I'll disassemble it and put it in a ziploc bag where it'll stay for a year or two and I'll eventually empty it and sort the pieces out. With my mocs I'll keep them built for a while and after a while I'll disassemble them. I also need to balance out my Lego and Gunpla, which is another large portion of my display space. The smaller sets tend to go down quicker while Star Wars ships and other large vehicles usually have a longer shelf life.

Galaxy Patrol Minifig - Possible MOCfodder Kits

A lot of the Avengers sets have a lot of both colors, particularly the Quinjet and the Hulk set. And then there's the Malevolence, a Star Wars ship coming out later this summer that has tons useful pieces.

Suddenly losing all interest in a whole theme?

I've only lost interest in the cmf's. I just got tired of standing in the toy section at Target or Walmart feeling up the packets. Another thing that broke me of them was the price. 48$ for a complete set without any real building. I'd rather spend that on a good size Star Wars or castle set, or maybe some Gunpla.

    Master Chief

Very cool, I especially like how you used the cheese slopes on the head. By the way, which version of the Chief's armor is your model based on?

    [rant] LEGO sets missing minifigs

Maybe having to rewatch the children that they have deprived of minifigures open the sets to find the minifigs missing from their sets and bursting out in tears for all eternity.

    LOTR & The Hobbit 2012

Perhaps instead of making an in-scale Oliphant, maybe TLG could just reuse the elephants from the Orient Expedition of the Adventurer's theme. Sure it might be impossible to put the entire tent system on top of it, but they could still make a nice facade. Besides, when was the last time TLG made a large non-UCS set that was in scale?

    What did you buy today?

Just ordered Weathertop from Barnes and Noble for a little more than 40$.

REVIEW: LEGO Star Wars 9496 – Desert Skiff

Great review, I especially liked the captioned images, but with your review you did forget about the skiff that came with 2006's 6210

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Just watched Legoboy12456789's reviews last night, and they significantly altered my plans for my purchasing of the summer sets. Still getting the skiff and JSF but the Gungan sub is now out of the question as well as the Malevolence due to their prices and lack of interesting features. Still on the fence with Jabba's palace though. And the republic fighter might be worth picking up now.

    LOTR & The Hobbit 2012

I think it's pretty fair to say at this point that this theme's intent by TLG is to milk AFOL and TFOL wallets so the likelihood of that set happening is about as likely as TLG making Star Wars sets with reasonable price tags that aren't UCS. Sure they could get away with that stuff(4767) with the Harry Potter theme since kids were a much bigger part of the target audience for the theme.

Thanks for the review. I'm now considering picking this set up for a nice afternoon build.
