The sets look great, faith in the LEGO Harry Potter team restored!

Really weird! I have orders from March 2nd, 3rd, 6th & 9th that have yet to ship. All in the range $50 - $90. So... who are up for placing some large orders to see if they get special treatment?

I woke up from a Brickhawk alert on my phone that Black Falcon torsos were back in stock (on march 9th), that's how I got my order for torsos and a few tan horses in. So thumbs up from me, that's a win for Brickhawk.

I wish they had come up with something more interesting than gold figures to celebrate the anniversary. I don't have much use for gold variants of figures, especially not with the large printed letters on the back.

Did you order the sails from B&P too? Phone order?

Built the first of the book sets the other day (Transfiguration), and thought it was pretty decent. In terms of value for money it doesn't compare too well against some of the other smaller sets though, like the Room of Requirement or Forbidden Forest. May be somewhat an regional issue, costing about 40 EURO in Norway.

Wow, that X-Wing has a really good lineup of figures!

Is that McGonagall figure with hat/hair legit? If that fig is from one of the books I'm definitely getting that one.

My latest order shipped in 11 days, about the same for a fellow LUG member. I think shipping times are improving.

Those look a lot better than I expected! Looking forward to better pictures. Had there been just a single truly new minifig in each of them I would be very interested, still somewhat on the fence.

No, that fig does nothing for me. The torso looks lovely, the overall figure just does not spark any interest. I like the head of the goon though. Think I'll pass on the Batwing.

Wow, that GWP went quickly! As long as there are sensible limits when D2C sets are launched I don't really care if anybody buys it as an investment. Putting down the money and storing a big box for years and years isn't really that lucrative IMO. It makes more sense to buy sets nearing the end of their shelf life if the plan is to resell.

I asked Jan Beyer last september, he said all B&P orders are handled from Billund. If the printed stamp on your envelope says otherwise I would guess it is for logistical reason, where a lot of orders are shipped in bulk to some hub and then split and forwarded.

The article says buildable books, with one looking like a greenhouse so hopefully not like the Disney books. Will be interesting to see how they turn out. The minifig lineup isn't all that exciting, hope there are some new worthwhile figs in there.

Finally finished the last part of Diagon Alley last night, really great set! WWW was my favourite build, and the section with Flourish & Blotts, Knockturn Alley entrance and WWW I think capture the vibe of Diagon Alley perfectly. I think it would have been better if the upper floors of Olivanders, Scribbulus and QQS didn't form a completely straight wall though. Maybe Scribbulus should have been pushed forward or back one stud, or use a different technique offsetting the facade by a plate or two to break it up.

To me the cantina sounded like a dud when the rumour first appeared, but the actual set is great. The quality of the set itself proves that it was a suitable choice for a MBS set IMO.

Got my Diagon Alley today, and built the first 5 bags (Olivander & Scribbules). Love it so far! Will try to space out the build over 4 days, patience permitting...

Well, us AFOLs are almost always complaining about too few figures aren't we? I'd love more figures too. But anyone who is surprised by the number of minifigures can't have been paying much attention to what LEGO usually does for D2C sets. How many sets have more than 15 minifigures? The ones that spring to mind are Death Star, Ewok Village, Ninjago City plus the upcoming Mos Eisley (may be more though).

Happy to report my box distribution was good and the same as in Whitefang's review: 3 complete sets Spares: Dumbledore x 2 Griphook x 2 Myrtle x 2 Harry x 1 Hermione x 1 Ron x 1 Luna x 1 Neville x 1 Sprout x 1 One funny thing, each of the 3 rows in the box started with the same 8 figures in the same order: Ginny, George, Fred, James, Lily, Kingsley, Bellatrix, Myrtle In one of the rows there was an extra Myrtle as fig 9, but the next 2 figures were Dumbledore, Griphook... Hermione & Ron appeared 4 times, and always Hermione followed by Ron

I bought a whole box from Norwegian retailer Brikkebutikken.no I'll share the distribution details once I've worked my way through the box, sure hope I get a box with "normal" distribution. I think the seemingly random distribution is a mistake in the packing, hopefully it only affects a subset of the boxes.
