I needed something to do while my son took a nap, so I put an old MOC in the beautiful autumn light and took a few pics. I haven't seen this technique anywhere before. The crate: I chose to make it in tan, but of course it works in many colours, as you can see at the bottom of this post. Dark tan would look even better, but I'm missing tiles in that colour. Lid off: As you can see, you can't actually put anything inside, it's filled with bricks to keep the sides on. The new 1x1 brick with stud on one side would work even better, though. Further disassembled: I really like the shadow on this pic... All taken apart: Here you have a good overview of the 35 pieces needed for a 4x6 crate. All in tan, but many of them are of course not seen. Older pic for size: "Is zat big enough vor ze ark?" "Ja, I zink zo. Wot a greet kamoflage" "We are not in ze desert" "Oh bugger" In other colours and sizes: The new 1x3 tiles would of course be great for even more sizes... Thanks for looking, I hope you like it!

Eurobricks Collectable LEGO Minifigures Series 6 Building Contest
Skafte replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
My third wish Minifig series 6: Genie Minifig series 2: Pharaoh Architectural feature: Al-Khazneh or The Treasury at Petra, Jordan Theme: Adventurers Somehwhere in the desert, a Pharaoh once found a lamp in a secret chamber. He rubbed it and a Genie appeared. As the custom bids of Genies set free, the Pharaoh was granted three wishes. The hidden palace where the lamp was found His first wish was a ton of gold, which appeared in an instant. The second wish was, naturally, Cleopatra in Leia's slave outfit. What will his third wish be? The stud for the Genie on his lamp is illuminated by a PF lamp. More pics (one with Genie) can be seen on my Flickr Disclaimer: I had built about half of this when I found this LEGO Al-Khazneh by ArzLan. I had not seen it before and did not look at the pics, so all similarities are coincidental. His is better -
Wow, great to see you here, Jonathan! Your book is a really good read for AFOLs as well as for non-FOLs. I enjoyed it immensly, both times I read it! Congratulations on your second (well, both) kids! It is fun building with them, I know!

¡Arriba! Minifig: Flamenco Dancer Theme: Town The male dancer performs a prancing jump in front of his partner, hoping she will be impressed. On the roof balcony, a cat is sneaking up behind a frog between the flowerpots. He is really flying! Or is he? Here you can see how the magic is done... More pics on my Flickr page -
Oooh, look what I wrote some time ago. Perhaps someone saw it back then? Perhaps they'd like to send me a 10225 just as a small thanks for the great idea? Eh?

I have for a few years made some kind of LEGO display for my local Toy Store window for the Holidays. It has often been Star Wars UCS sets, but this year (as last year actually), I built a medival/fantasy diorama. When I got it home a few weeks ago, I could finally take some pictures. Hope you like it! The complete thing Dragon Knights from Kingdoms defend the Wizard Tower from the evil Orcs of Fantasy Era The tower is built from 2x4 Wedges Some detail shots. More pics on my Flickr.

From Death Star II to Minifig - a Journey through Scale
Skafte replied to mortesv's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Great to see this done! I think I need to build one of those Falcons to have the complete scale-line. I only have eight different Falcons so far... -
Including a Peter Jackson minifig with carrot.

As happy as I am about this is really happening, I'm really annoyed that they don't mention JRR Tolkien at all in the press release. It's all about the movies.

This is my entry: The Tree Obviously for the woodcutter, and I guess the closest theme is City (should be "forest", but whatever). -
REVIEW: 8805 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5
Skafte replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for the review and the great pics of these beauties! But weren't series 5 supposed to come in purple bags? I distinctly remember that (and have a nice dk purple shelf waiting for them). -

I got an extra Darth Maul rubber head thingy in my Sith Infiltrator set, but no extra for Savage in the Night Sithspikeyspeeder vehicle set. -
PM sent! So happy to have won anything in a building contest where people have voted for my entry! Thanks everyone! Thanks EB staff and contest organizers! Thanks to all the competitors, many great ideas out there, and I'm quite happy that the one that won isn't - as mine is - a ridiculously high vig. It's really more about idea and skill than size... I had spent some time on the vig and then my 3year old boy got really ill. But in a break from hospital, I managed to get a few minutes off to finish building and taking the (too dark, I know) pics. It feels great. Yay!

Great contest, many wonderful vigs! I give one point each to: 10) Artist Entry (Build by migilio) - Love the absinth reference. 21) Mad Scientist Entry (Build by Darkblane) - Great effect with the elixir in the sewers! 30) The Monster Entry (Build by CorneliusMurdock) - Wonderful simplicity with the curtain. -
I have all previous UCS sets, and of course I will buy this one. It's the longest one yet and the basic shape of the ship itself is great. Some flaws design-wise with the flat bottom, I agree, but I'm quite certain the designer has done the best he ever could, considering his assignment. He cannot use every LEGO piece that was ever made. He must build with as few pieces as possible - both by type and by number. He was obviously told to make up a way to include minifigs, because LEGO knows they will sell more copies of the set that way. Sure, some of us AFOLs will say "No way I'm getting that, it's no UCS with out of scale minifigs!", but a much larger number (not necessarily in the 16+ group!) will go "Wow, yeah, it even has the Bounty Hunter Scene in it, I'm so buying!" Yes, it would be more like a "classic" UCS set if there were no figs. This way, LEGO will make more money and will continue to produce sets from movies that are 30+ years old. I say thank you LEGO. And the price? Ridiculous amount of money, of course, but not surprisingly high. It's about 12 cents per piece. When were we really (really) thinking that 10 was the magic number? Feels like quite a long time ago. Our European prices are, as usual, even worse. Mind you, the two things I mainly collect are SW UCS and SW minifigs, so I am biased.

Bricklink says they are Trans-Dark Blue, and that's what they look like on my Falcon! -
I love the Capri! I have a (real) mkII from 1976, so that is a bit too late for you. The mkI is instantly recognizable, though! The others are great as well, of course, but not that many know and love the Capri. Why was it one of your (first?) choises?

(MOC) How to expose Home made MicroScale SW ?

A beautiful christmas tree for mini ships! Well played! -
100€ = 100$ in LEGOs pricing. Look at the 10215 for a recent example.
