    Surprise watchtower

Excellent! Now we're talking hearty Mitgardian ingenuity! The pictures are excellent, I'm happy it worked out so well! Keep on building and Mitgardia will be the Guild to top them all!

Mitgardia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion

I would place the deadline at Dec 15, yes, same as the watchtower challenge. @Viceroy: That is a beautiful and very detailed creation, well done sir!! I especially like the layout, snow effects, minifigures and overall balance of the piece! I would imagine the girl in the water is quite cold though... A grand display, and a wonderful addition to the Mitgardian Legacy, we'll have to make you a titled member for all of your efforts...

    Avalonian Trebuchet

My what a beauty!!! Not only beautiful but functional! How on earth do you know how to build one that well? Your own effort, or do you have a blueprint that dates to 1300 AD

A Complete Collection of Maps of Historica

It's not wise to gang up on members lest the High King order all involved to dress as jugglers and dance... It's interesting to see all the maps side-by-side it truly reminds me of ancient maps where the same bodies of water and landmasses were represented but skewed and in different proportions. I think Thrash drew his to encompass the rest and represents the most agreed-upon big picture. Keep in mind that as has already been pointed out, the Mitgardia map is not yet finished; Viceroy is working on a final version, which I assume will be done soonish. Great work to all the artists amongst us!

Mitgardia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion

Great builds and figures coming from Mitgardians! Viceroy: I'm happy to see the first mini challenge entree; it's very unique and innovative! I hope all members participate in at least one of these categories, as they are mini builds and are quite fast to build, and it helps us establish the feel of the Guild! (Also don't forget titles ) FatTony: Great to see the dwarf tower progressing! It's quite an innovative and true-to-form dwarven design! TomTheTruckdriver: Welcome to the Guild, your men look fierce and ready for battle! Let's get building and see some more excellent MOC's!

Phenomenal tower rucorder! Very streamlined, clean design, and wonderful combination of snow guild colors and layout give this entree the unmistakable Mitgardia feel. Well done!

    Burning Snow Watchtower

That truly is a beauty! Some of the best snow effects and lava effects I've ever seen. Pity the pictures are blurry though; do yourself a bit favor and re-shoot again and repost; this has the makings of an amazing and very popular MOC not just here but also on flickr, mocpages etc, and it'd be a shame if it were missed simply due to picture quality!

Good to have you on board! It's ok to deep-link your pictures too. Simply right click your picture on brickshelf, and select "copy image location" , then click this button: and paste what you just copied, and presto! Make sure you re-size the picture though, it's a bit too large as is. Now, in case anyone missed the update to my previous post here are the mini challenges again: 1) Economic Mini Challenge: Design a trading post/store/workshop/mine to boost our economic prowess. Fur traders, blacksmiths, dwarven miners and caravan traders this is the one for you! Do a good job and our "Trade/Economy Titan" title may be bestowed upon you! 2) The Colonial Homestead Mini Challenge: Design a house or dwelling that will fit well into Mitgardia. Colonial housing, Tudor buildings, Norse temples, native cottages and dwarven cities of stone are encouraged! Show us your creative muscle and one of you will win the first ever title of "Royal Architect" 3) Siege Master Mini Challenge: Design a mighty catapult, battering ram, trebuchet, ballista, or siege tower that our armies can take to war should the need arise. Title of "Siege Master" will be given to the best machine. take your time on this one, I will only pick a truly beautiful, impressive and innovative design. (Please no cannon) Remember: Members with titles get their own mini-rounds later with special rewards, so take your time, build and have fun innovating! To our American members, Happy Thanksgiving! Long live Mitgardia!

    Avalonian Ballista and Mantlet

Mighty impressive siege machines Z! It's great to see something that actually looks to scale with minifigs and made out of the materials it should be made of! Time to get our Mitgardian siege works operating....

    Mitgardian steam tank

Yes indeed, I have just addressed the usage of cannon and steampunk in the official Guild thread, please refer to it. Now, apart from that issue, I think it's a marvelous creation, very much reminds me of the warhammer steam tanks the Empire uses. I especially like the rear, and the smoke coming from the chimney. Let's call it a dwarven wonder/prototype that exist as the only such machine in all of Mitgardia. That way it's mighty but won't win us wars single-handedly. The pictures came out great, and the snow-capped grass pieces really are a great way to show a snowy field! Well done, can't wait to see more from you! Long live Mitgardia!

Mitgardia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion

@ kabel: Yes indeed, I see that the Guilds are having a blast with this idea, I will post a list of mini challenges to get us building and expanding the world of Mitgardia. Keep in mind that things are bound to slow down during large building challenges as it's quite easy to make minifigures and get people to immediately sign in but rather more-difficult to start and finish large-scale MOC's. The list will be posted very soon. @ Fives: The colors of the Guild are determined and to change them now would be a disfavor to all the people who already posted minifigures and creations with those colors. (That being everyone who signed up)So green and yellow it stays, don't worry that our enemies will mistake us for Avalonians; our courage and incredible sense of northern pride will set us apart both in battle and in peace. Having said that, it is ok for your men to wear any colors they wish as long as you fly the Mitgardian flag in your MOC's and it looks like you have it! Here we go with special challenges! I have 2 tasks, if you feel up to one of these, state so and we will be looking forward to your builds. I will also give out titles. 1) Economic Mini Chellenge: Design a trading post/store/workshop/mine to boost our economic prowess. Fur traders, blacksmiths, dwarven miners and caravan traders this is the one for you! Do a good job and our Trade/Economy Titan title may be bestowed upon you! 2) The Colonial Homestead Mini Challenge: Design a house or dwelling that will fit well into Mitgardia. Colonial housing, tudor buildings, Norse temples, native cottages and dwarven cities of stone are encouraged! Show us your creative muscle and one of you will win the first ever title of "Royal Architect" Remember: Members with titles get their own mini-rounds later with special prizes, so take your time, build and have fun innovating! A special note about cannon usage: I see a lot of our members have tapped into that Dwarven technology that seems to dominate the field of war; gunpowder. Although I was initially inclined to allow it, it seems like more and more of us are using cannon as the major component in our armed forces. Norse men and Women fight with sword and steel Guildsmen! Let the cannon be a weapon of last resort, and from now on, I'd like to see little to no usage of this technology. Long live Mitgardia!

Although MOC's are generally fun and there to enrich the sense of the Guild, there are prizes given out for those who build the best in challenges. For example, the 5 best watchtowers from every guild will be judged and the winning Guild gets a little something to reward their efforts and innovation. For full details see the Watchtower Challenge Post

Avalonia River Run Watchtower of Mesodraconem

Phenomenal work Z! The whole thing is a beauty, but I especially love those windows. It definitely has the Avalonia feel and influence, and I hope to see more builds from you in the future!

Great entree Minister Penguinuis! I knew you would put our Guild's gold towards our mighty military machine, I just didn't know that the gold itself will be said machine! Welcome Blockburn! Or should I say, Kārlis von Blockburn. I'm happy you chose Mitgardia as the place to call home! Looking forward to seeing your work. @ Viceroy: It looks like people are happy with your map, we all eagerly await the finalized version! Guildsmen, as you are aware the date by which our fortifications are to be finished is Dec. 15th. That still leaves a great deal of time to refine our models, take great pictures and make the best possible presentation. Which brings me to the word of the day: Prizes! Yes, we are finalizing an unprecedented reward for contest winners that will make any history-loving-eurobricker's jaw hit the floor. I can't say more, stay tuned, keep building and trust that you will not be disappointed. Long live Mitgardia!!

Good to hear you appreciate our leadership Drow master. Welcome all new members! @ Fat Tony: Great Dwarven construction! Can't wait to see the final product! @ Fives: Love the snowy terrain; very thematic and looks good with our army design! Long live Mitgardia!
  17. Thank you, I'm very happy about it! :) Cheers!

    At the frozen river

Lovely build Etzel!! The tower is great, the colors blend nicely and the river is so tranquil you just want to take a dip. The feel of the MOC makes you proud to be a Mitgardian! You honor me with using the tree technique, it looks good! Keep on building and spreading the Glory of the North!

    Guarding the road to Valholl

Fantastic work Hersir Elon Chorian! I can sleep soundly knowing that our Mighty Capital is guarded by your fine defenses. The snow is very very well done, and i specifically love the icicles effect. The tower is a beauty, and I appreciate the intricate nature of that round wooden part, I'm sure that must have taken the mighty patience of a military strategist to arrange! I am happy see I chose my Hersirs wisely! Well done, and long live Mitgardia!

Mitgardia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion

Mitgardians, great work so far! I hope that this weekend will bring more of you closer to posting your towers. We are currently finalizing some of the judging rules, and picking out prizes. Trust me, you will be happy with them. Something I have noticed in our Guild is that there are a few distinct styles emerging, following very closely with our armed forces designs. 1) There is the classic viking/Norse/dwarf designs which are more mythological and tribe-based, and focuse much more on those inhabitants. 2) There is a very well-defined sense of a castle faction with mighty towers and fortresses, for the professional army of green-sleeved men in armor. This diversity makes Mitgardia a great realm to build in as there are literally no restrictions in the styles that you can explore. (Save for the open desert of course) With each challenge I will be encouraging members to build more and more elaborate and creative MOC's, exploring not just the expected Mitgardian landscape, but also the world around it; from dwarven cities to long-lost temples. From mighty mountain fortresses to humble fishing villages. I believe you are an amazing group of MOC'ers, I am pleasantly surprised and encouraged by the amount of submissions already, and can't wait to see the rest! Keep it up, and soon Mitgardia will be a marvelous place that we have built together and are truly proud of!

    Misty Mountain Top (MOC)

Hello all! I have been wondering whether to continue MOC'ing my ongoing project, or to create a few Mitgardian MOC's. In the end I decided to do both; as the story takes a turn into Mitgardia, allowing me to both keep telling it, and contribute to the Guild. This is my latest creation: My take on a unique watchtower, as far as I'm aware the brick technique is new. Enjoy, get inspired and see the full story here: MOCPAGES. (Asparuh is back! ) Mitgardians, this is a glorious tower to defend our lands against invaders. (never-mind the story) Let me know what you think of the MOC in general. Cheers!

    Misty Mountain Top (MOC)

Thanks for the nice comments guy! @ Taz, yes I saw that technique a few weeks ago but I like to think mine is rather unique in the way that it uses a different technic parts, and actually wraps around a central cylinder made of a lot of these:
