There are a ton of large, UCS sized, sets they could do without rehashing old designs or getting into obscure models.
A UCS speeder bike has been talked about for years. I wouldn't be surprised if we started seeing more brick built figures/droids/aliens. That seems to be the recent trend. Brick builds such as 3PO, Jabba, Ewok, K2SO (once the Cassian show comes out) etc.

I'm starting to come around on the ISD.
I didn't like the gaps. I didn't like the flimsiness of the design.
I'm starting to be ok with the gaps. Lego isn't a perfect medium. I just finished building the Tantive iv. It has gaps. I don't mind the gaps in the falcons. There is a certain charm to the aesthetic. Some studs and small gaps don't ruin it. They give it character.
I am still not a fan of how much the plates flex under very minimal pressure making me think the inner structure could be designed better but...I'm half way there.
This was the set I wanted most and I was pretty disappointed with the reveal. I'm not 100% satisfied but I'm starting to think I might be ok with it. Still on the fence about purchasing it, but the gaps are bothering me less.

Edit: Typo elminated
This is an old question that has been discussed to death. A Lego rep. responded to it a few years back saying that Lego has attempted to design a UCS sized at-at but it didn't pass QC tests for stability.
The cavegod moc was crazy unstable...dont bump the table type of unstable. Even if it was made more stable with technic pieces I would expect it still wouldn't be stable enough for Lego's standards.

I've been waiting for for this set for what seems like forever.
I'm a bit disappointed with the gaps in the way it is designed considering the price.
At 1:40 in the video he barely touches the plates and they move. I doubt those gaps/moveable plates stay symmetrical over time.
Between the gaps and the fact that it seems like it is not a solid build my first impression is not great. I'll wait to see more consumer reviews later.

Well, we haven't had triple points in a few years...but it's possible. It's happened before. I can't remember exactly when the last triple points was in the US. Maybe 2014ish?

Just now, Brikkyy13 said:If I remember correctly it only had two production runs in its entire lifetime, and the second one took so long to sell out. I think the set officially retired in 2010 but was still available until 2012.
10178 didn't sell out. It was on clearance for 50% off in many places and still didn't sell...

Oxymoron...

We disagree.

A precedence was set. The porg was arguably worse/more ugly.
The brick built character sets look much better when they are droids imo.

TLG understands who the target audience is for high prices sets. As far as SW goes it definitely isn't millennials. They are banking on nostalgia.
As much as I think nostalgia is for suckers, some ships are iconic.
There is no way we get a prequel trilogy or sequel trilogy star destroyer at a high price point. TLG knows better.

Ah yes, forgot about those. That is a step in the right direction. Those always seemed strange to me because there were other dc sets that were better that they seemed to be competing against. That is probably why it was so short lived.

A licensed theme that utilizes minidolls might be interesting. I would like to see minidolls progress beyond where they are currently. I see trolls speculation. Is there anymore evidence to support this actually being a thing? Prerelease codenames/nicknames don't mean much.

I recently received a tantive iv that i ordered from Shop at Home. The outer shipping box was perfect but the lego box had creases and 2 of the bags were open inside.
I can't think of another time that the plastic bags were open inside the box but it has probably happened at least a couple times over the years...

Can you use that many promo codes online for one order? It wasn't letting me. Maybe I could try again? What a hassle?

So it seems like we are getting screwed.
I currently have 45 dollars in vip points...but i can't use 45$ worth. The next tier up is a 50$ voucher. This is some BS. They try to spin this like it is good and offering extra benefits but F this.
This is just one more way they are milking us. The Lego store rarely has good sales anyway and this is one more thing that pushes me away.

Very much disagree. The poorly fitted nose ruins this for me. Vader is much better. I'm not interested in displaying this unfortunately.

Ewok village is mine. I love lego trees. A great variety and number of figs with tons of details and good natural colors. As much as I enjoy the falcon and ISD that others mentioned (the isd being my favorite sw ship) the majority grey color palette takes them out of my top choices.
For a smaller, mid-range, set bag end is a quality design, good figs and lots of little details. Circular windows are great and a ton of accessories.

Having discussed this a few times over the years, I believe the reason behind it to be fluctuation in humidity. The recommended humidity range seems to be in the 60+% range and that fluctuating humidity can put stress on parts over time.

hopefully Minerva comes with a dress piece
39.99 US is the standard licensed theme/SW advent calendar price. That seems expected.

I'll wait to reserve judgement on the slave 1 until we see more. I wonder what the dimensions are? On first glance it has a lot more exposed studs on the back than 8097 giving it a less smooth look but it does seem to have a lower profile. Like others mentioned, definitely not buying it only for zuckus, but we will see. The rest don't interest me.

57 minutes ago, Tidy said:those lists are not fact based either, they are mostly rehashes of things said here, pure speculation, and fake rumour mongering.
when the rebel fleet trooper leaked last year so many people jumped on a 'we must be getting a tantive' bandwagon. only to have the trooper in a 4+ tie fighter set.any list found on the internet right now listing a tantive and isd, is pure wishlist and speculation.
Lets not restate the obvious when "tentative" has been stated. However, the lists from the leak pages which include set numbers/price points/piece counts that list the ISD and Tantive tentatively are definitely more than wish lists even though they are, obviously, not officially confirmed at this point.
-
3 hours ago, Brikkyy13 said:There is no Tantive IV rumour, it was speculation in this thread that caught on. This is why the mods don’t allow wish listing.
This is not exactly true. There have been 2019 set lists posted elsewhere that tentatively list both an ISD and a Tantive in the ucs slots.

You are stating the obvious. We all know Jacks concerns don't hold any weight. As mentioned, the precedence has been set multiple times at this point that would deem a theme like WoW to be more than acceptable. This is such an old, rehashed discussion that I tried to avoid it with my comments above.
-
Just now, J4ck said:I don’t think WoW will happen. Also:
”World of Warcraft is rated T (Teen) by the ESRB for blood and gore, crude humor, mild language, suggestive themes, and use of alcohol and violence.”
These type of concerns don't hold any weight anymore. Precedents have been set.

I think myself and the above poster have a different definition of the word "kid" than you do. They call them college "kids" for a reason.
It's not until you are much older that you realize you are definitely a kid when you are in your 20's. It isn't anything to get defensive about. I'm glad you thought she was "dope". I really enjoyed the costume design.
