  1. Ooh I hope so. I'm answering my own question but the recent AU Lego catalogue for the second half of 2015 confirms 4 September for the Ep VII sets like the rest of the world.
  2. Nope. Definitely coming to target: http://www.target.com.au/greatesttoysale
  3. I saw the tease and now I want to see the rest and more importantly, prices ;)
  4. And that's why I commented on this sale being a bust. Doesn't seem like they've got enough stock to last the first 24 hours on the big ticket and exclusive items let alone last the length of sale. As opposed to Myer who have been reupping their stock the past three weeks. Does any one know when we'll likely see the contents of Target's catalogue? I know it's not even July yet and their sale begins on the 22nd but I'm curious.
  5. I don't have a horse in this race because I'm not interested in any of those sets but if Lego make amazon put international shipping restrictions on those particular sets that's pretty crappy.
  6. Wow that's some good insight there. And that's why I don't give you guys a hard time, I'm not that entitled to have a hissy fit in the store demanding my childrens toys, I just complain about it on the internet ;) I'm still disappointed by the amount of stock, ideally if Target can have so many sets why can't Big W, from the sound of it they clearly would of sold? And the stores I went to were sold out much sooner. I'm surprised by the Indominus rex set selling so well as I didn't think Big W had much of a discount on it, if any at all, and from memory Myer was still the best place to get it with 20% off. As for your question about the Ant-man set there seems to be a delay because of production issue: http://brickset.com/...-battle-delayed

Jurassic World 2015 Rumors & Discussion

There's probably a Colin Trevorrow minifigure out there somewhere but not for SDCC. I was listening to the Empire magazine podcast interview with the director and towards the end of the interview they asked about lego. And he said yeah I'm a minifigure in the game along with Steven and I think Frank Marshall. One of the Empire guys said and I'm paraphrasing yeah but you can't buy one like you can Chris Pratt and Trevorrow replied no lego is making me a custom one :)
  8. The Big W toy sale has been a big bust in my opinion. I was not after anything too exclusive like the Sandcrawler or Helicarrier just the two Jurassic World sets featured in the catalogue. My thinking is they're never going to be discounted this much again 75916 (30%) and 75917 (26%) and because they're a one time theme they might not stick around too long. Anyway I went to my nearest Big W in Sydney Thursday night and zilch apart from the most expensive set. Friday night I went to a different store and nothing again but one T rex set. I tried another store today and only the biggest set again. I did enquire at one of the stores and they said they got them in for the sale but now they're all gone. I'm thinking something suspect is happening. Either Big W is getting limited stock supplies or there's some serious scalping happening in Sydney. I thought about complaing to one of the staff members that I spoke with, that the store should actually have in stock what is advertised in their promotional material but I know the lowly employee doesnt care or is no position to do anything about it. After visiting three stores I called one more and was told the ones I wanted were sold out. Now I'm kicking myself for not thinking of this in the first place but I stopped by my nearest Target on the way home and picked up both sets. When I went to the check out I asked to price match and pulled out the Big W catalogue and it couldn't have been easier. To think of all the time I wasted I should have done this on Thursday. Target had at least 10 of the small to medium sets and plenty of the bigger ones. I thought that's how you stock a store. I will definitely pay them a visit if there's anything I want when they have their sale. And I doubt I'll step foot in a Big W again. The misleading sale tactics, the crummy stores and incorrectly labeled price tags. Who needs them? Their website is even worse, they won't let you check stock levels online or by location or even make online purchases - crazy. It's not 2005. At each store I visited I did not see one Sandcrawler or Helicarrier. I really feel sorry for anyone who wants either of these, good luck finding them. Ok end of rant. I'd be interested to know if others are having any luck finding what they want at the Big W sale?
  9. Pure speculation, the Target toy sale begins 22 July, hopefully the Star Wars sets that are supposed to hit retail in August land some time during the sale period.

Jurassic World 2015 Rumors & Discussion

Apologies, I thought they were talking about the printed 1 × 4 yellow and black piece. I should learn to read what I quote.
  11. I have absolutely no interest in the 75085 Hailfire Droid but as already mentioned Big W has picked it up as an exclusive for the upcoming toy sale. I do not understand why a retailer picks up a set for a toy sale. They could have started selling it back in February for full price and people would have paid it because there's no where else in Australia you can purchase it. And at a massive $5 off it's not really a win for anyone. On a more positive note I saw Jurassic World on the weekend and now I want all the sets... actually no that's not a positive at all. The dinos and minfigs are cool but the builds not so much, argh! I'd be happy to buy them if the price matched the piece count or the piece count matched the price.

Jurassic World 2015 Rumors & Discussion

I haven't seen the movie but I came here to read if the scenario's depicted in the sets are featured in the film, so thanks to those who posted on this, I thought this would be the case. I haven't been following this topic, have TLG indicated this is a one and done theme i.e. the sets currently available will be the only wave?
  13. Yeah that's what I thought, just thought I'd clarify. Probably the best price it's going to be at Australian retail before it goes EOL unless another retailer has a crazy fire sale.
  14. I picked up the AT-AT today from Myer taking advantage of the mid year sale and $40 off getting it for $129.00 (24% reduction). That's close enough to the 25% off or better I was hoping for like my first AT-AT so time to bite the bullet. I was just going to order from Myer online since it's back in stock there but I was close to a Myer today so I thought I'd save myself the wait. There was plenty of stock, probably because it's a featured catalogue item, but less so of it's 2014 brethren ie Cantina, Snowspeeder etc. Lucky for me I guess. Already bricklinked in advance a second AT-AT Pilot (or 4th) from the microfighter set to co-pilot. I only now realised that the AT-AT comes with three of the new Snowtroopers and the one from the new snowspeeder makes four. Now I need an extra one to even up those troop numbers and I'm not going to buy another snowspeeder, or....... nope I've got enough of those over the years ;) Stupid Big W and their $90 AT-AT's I would have paid them at least $110, they should have consulted with me first before the frenzy began :) Ok that's enough of this novel.
  15. Any one know of any sales planned for August ;) Shuttle Tydirium is temporarily out of stock at s@h, it must be popular.
  16. Funny, I came here to ask the same thing. I thought it would be after the sales but still looking forward to that Shuttle Tydirium, so the sooner the better. Follow up question, should we Australians expect The Force Awakens sets to hit retail first week of September like the rest of the world or will there be a couple of months delay like everything else it seems? I think so too. I have a fear that 75099 may have a price set unscrupulously at $39.99, it's happened before but I'm hoping with the super low piece count and the 75090 precedent we'll get 'lucky'. I also forgot to add that some of those sets will look far more attractive with a 20% off sale ;) TIE Fighters should not be $100 :)
  17. This has nothing to do with sales but as an 'Aussie' topic I though I'd share here thinking people could be interested. I looked at the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens set numbers/piece count/price information and have tried to come up with the Australian R.R.P. This was derived mostly from recent sets with an exact price comparison between the AUD, USD, Euro and Sterling. Piece count hasn't really factored in because that's usually all over the place. 75099 $32.99 based on 75090 75100 $69.99 based on 75086 & 75087 75101 $99.99 based on 75084 75102 $129.99 based on 75093 75103 $139.99 based on 75094 75104 $179.99 based on 75054 & 75106 75105 $249.99 based on 7965 The Sterling/Euro/USD info is in the spoiler tags and it pretty much matches spot on with the R.R.P prices contained in the Brickset links. I'd like any feedback if anyone thinks I'm off or wrong. But I thought people could start planning their budgets accordingly ;)

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors

That seems to be the general assumption. The one thing I can't work out it piece count. 9492 Tie Fighter (413 pieces) >>>> 75101 Tie Fighter (517 pieces) What's changed in 3 years? The only major variance between the two should be colour and minifigs, where do the extra 100 pieces come from? 9493 X-Wing (560 pieces) >>>> 75102 X-Wing (717 pieces) By all account the new TFA X-Wing is smaller and there's less to the wings compared to the OT era X-Wing so again, where do the extra 150 pieces come from? The only way I can explain such a variance is that like the new 75092 Naboo Starfighter there might be a new trend with these latest sets coming with maintenance/loading equipment/ladders/stands etc boosting the piece count.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors

So according to the below this is 1004 pieces. It's certainly a big ship - massive wings, does that seem accurate? I'm not judging the legitimacy of either bits of info, I have no doubt both are legitimate, just cross referencing them. And I am so glad these pictures are starting to leak, so much anticipation and more to come.
  20. Thanks for the reply Artanis I. Great minds.... I forgot to mention the AT-AT isn't showing up on Myer's website (or not that I could find) so that's not very promising although stock is still on the shelves.
  21. I'm contemplating buying a second 75054 AT-AT. Does any one have a heads up on the best discounted price available on this set? I was standing in Myer on Saturday with the box in my hand @ 20% off ($136) and decided against it for now. I got 25% off ($127.50) my first AT-AT towards the end of last year so paying more kind of seems wrong. Or am I being crazy and I should snap one up whilst I can? I'm not sure what stock levels have been like as it's completely fallen off my radar since I purchased the first one until now, anyone care to comment on this? No one mention the Big W drop zone scores a little while back please
  22. I don't know how people do this, I had enough trouble trying to remove the minifig from my legally purchased encyclopedia.
  23. Lately there seems to be a 20% off sale at one of the major retailers every other week. Most are mentioned here, if not brickingaround is your friend.
