  1. I meant this one: You can also see it on the photos provided by ritztoys.
  2. Thank you! I was very excited to see photos of the boom you've built, especially because of its coloring that is slightly different than in my own model. I changed it for the instructions but I'm not able to change it in my model as I need to disassemble most of the superstructure to dismount the arm. However, in my opinion, the final coloring scheme is better. And what do you think about it? I am very sorry for the delay with the instructions. The reason is that I finally received missing parts for another large MOC, and I could not refrain from starting building it. :) As soon as it's finished, I will continue with the instructions for the excavator.
  3. Of course it's not, what's the fun in using parts for their intended functions? It's used in the following assembly: Despite its rarity, I've chosen that part as it fits nicely in this assembly. However, you are welcome to suggest any modifications either now or later in your own builds! By the way, your workaround is very helpful, thank you! I'm very sorry, I'll make a video as soon as I get a camera. And yes, I used only 1 big LA for bending the boom. It's easier for me as my machine doesn't need to dig rice. By the way, I've found that an old type LA works better for this solely function because it doesn't bend itself.
  4. @LEGO Guy Bri, @Jetwee, thank you! Almost forgot to mention: those of you who are waiting to build the whole model should consider getting these rare parts: 1x 1x The rest of parts are either common or can be replaced by more common variants of different color.
  5. Wow! Thank you! Thank you all for the comments! In response to your kindness and patience I have prepared instructions and part list (in Rebricable format) for the excavator's boom. I should note that I have changed the coloring of the boom so that the sections of the boom could match each other. This is possible now as those small panels have become available in black. Please let me know if you find mistakes in the instructions. You may use an LDD file of the boom if you need. However, I should warn you that this file contains hacked linear actuators from @pocketpc (by the way, thanks to him!) that are very helpful but may cause some difficulties during conversion or rendering. Still a lot of work for me to do: instructions for the superstructure and the base plus long-awaited video. I hope I'll have some time to complete these tasks. :)
  6. Some news concerning instructions: I have compiled my hand-made instructions that I created for myself. Here are the partial instructions for the shorter section of the boom. The question is: are they appropriate or should I try to create professional-style instructions?
  7. I should also note that prior to this model I made two versions that were much more complex as they contained gearboxes and lots of gears. However, due to their complexity and weight, those versions didn't work smooth. And so I decided to replace gearbox with additional motors, and the result is much better!
  8. Although I haven't had an opportunity to prepare instructions (it takes time to deal with over 4500 parts), I've made some schemes that illustrate the simple yet effective mechanics of the excavator: Subtractor Boom Engines Superstructure
  9. Thank you for mentioning a few of those details that may look insignificant or may be hidden inside but require many hours to design, build and rebuild. I should probably note (just in case) that this geometry of the boom allows the bucket to maintain its orientation towards ground surface during boom movements. As a result, the driver doesn't need to worry about losing the load while moving the bucket to the dump truck. You are right about the functions of the first two u-joints. The third u-joint is just a part of the framework. It doesn't move. Or at least I didn't mean it to move. :)
  10. Thank you all for your comments! Yes, they are, as well as the motors for lifting and opening the bucket. I hope I will have some time to make instructions and share them! Great MOC, it's more advanced than mine at least in terms of mechanics! According to available images and videos, real Terex RH400 machines are usually colored in red and white. With or without the driver? That's a huge difference! :D

    LDD 4.3.6 bugs

Strange behavior of part 99773 compared to old style triangle 2905:
  12. 1 point to Prometheus; 1 point to Marshall Boyle; 1 point to Quazara Angelata.
  13. 1 point to Nick Evero; 2 points to Hector Steelson XL. PS The link from Draccon leads to Ryan Korsten.
  14. 1 point to Marcus Fisher; 1 point to Gambrodon; 1 point to Gorroz Spider.

    LDD 4.3.6 bugs

It seems that there is a bug with part 62531 Technic, Panel Curved 11 x 3: No other part can be placed in front of the panel's corner. Sorry if this was already mentioned.

    MOC: Modular Railway Station

Indeed, now I see that the color scheme of my train resembles Acela Express. However, most of the design features are similar to Alstom's AGV train. Nevertheless, my train wasn't intended to be an exact copy of any real train. Just in case, here are some photos of Acela Express and AGV: Questions are always welcome! I used garage door sections. This idea was inspired by the roof design of Lego's 10224 Town Hall. All PF elements are installed in the middle section of the first carriage, and a few of those universal joints were used to link the door mechanisms. All the signs and boards are custom decals except for the 'pirate' warning sign.

    MOC: Modular Railway Station

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for warm response! I hope that my MOC gave you some inspiration! Unfortunately, I had got problems with the instructions when I needed them for myself. I used LDD to create the prototype and it was not able to generate correct instructions automatically. :( I'm afraid this is not a CUUSOO type of project. :( As for CUUSOO, I think the cake is a lie. ;) About half a year from the idea to the final model. However, most of the time I spent waiting for shipments from Bricklink. The building itself did not take too long. I tried to contact them, but their office is abandoned and the phone doesn't answer! No. The rat was lucky to escape the evil technician, and the old repairman has poor eyesight so he didn't even notice the rat. :)
