Dear Eurobricks Community, To continue the celebration of the 40 years anniversary of the LEGO Minifigure? I had dwell deeper into the LEGO promotional advertisements provided by TLG (The LEGO Group) which I am going to share between 1980 to 1982. It is the dawn and the beginning of the Golden Age. I was not exactly born during this period yet but this period is an important milestone for the LEGO Minifigures to embrace a whole new level of interchange playability of parts through mix and match, looking at the lens and the art of minifigures' role playing in our day-to-day lives. The original super detailed high resolution images provided by TLG can be found in this Flickr Album. I have also included Brickset (excellent database for set catalogue) for links as part of my short article write up as well as my past reviewing images, where applicable. Henceforth, allow me to first share the humble beginnings of some these promotional advertisements from 1980-1982. The first LEGO Minifigure is the Classic Police Officer - was a part of the LEGO Town Theme in early 1978 (which I forget to mention in my first topic). As the years goes, there are more varieties of town occupations ranging from doctors, drivers, construction workers, chefs and etc, appearing in LEGO Town. The beginning of 1980s were a golden age because many young builders including myself and discover these attractive, simple, classic playsets with minifigures in there. It was a successful hit in global regions. LEGO was able to capture many young builders and during this period, LEGO was still conservative in their set releases until 1983 onward where more themes and varied sets designs increased significantly. The iconic 6381 Summer Cottage first released in 1981 could be spotted in the town setting in this German advertisement. Will you be able to identify the rest of the Classic Gems in this promotional advertisement? LEGO Town's integral transportation hub rely greatly on trains and trains had appeared as early as 1966. In this case, these trains come with train conductors. These 12 volts train are amazingly incredible and highly detailed. Are you even aware that there are 13 train sets recorded for the release in 1980. Anyone got the slightest idea on what the black locomotive is from? Then, moving forward slightly where space adventures are very excitable and real due to US and Soviet Union arms race towards intergalactic space travel in 1970s. Space became real and so real life and imagination seems limitless. The beginning of 1978 introduced Classic Space are really the best Classic Space sets ever released. Even those sets were not released at the time when I was born, I had to admire from past promotional images and imagine right in my mind. I am sure no one will dispute the fact that it is a winning formula if proper Classic Space or *ahem* Neo Classic Space ever returns to TLG product launches. Love the layout and it is not little as you had claimed. Indeed. I had the 6381 Motor Speedway and it is the smaller cousin of 6395. I had lots of fun playing with that set when I was a child too. No apologies needed. I am glad you had enjoyed a walk back down memory lane like I do.

The Admins had done a great job to implement this trial. It's better to see those spam fest during mid-day bashing those spammers. I will rather spend my time indulging into EB quality.

Thanks kaelthas for the review. Very well taken, especially the outdoor photos. It add some great vibes to the set itself. I think this is quite a decent cute model. Well, it may not be entirely articulated especially for the Porg front. I agreed with your rating and I think it is still a nice set to consider if you are a fan of brick built animals. Otherwise, it can be an easy miss to give up this set.

Excellent review, Veebs. I enjoyed reading and viewing this majestic review. I could imagine how long you have taken to build and review this. I love the overall built and even though it is microbuilt. It is still very appealing. The minifigures are equally impressive and I now have to decide whether to get this set or just purely getting the minifigures since I really like building sets in minifigure scale better.

Thank you everyone for your comments and thoughts. It's interesting to see how divided our views are with regards to this Cloud City playset. I had decided to close the poll since it is not really working. This is how I felt when I first saw the images and after you had dealt with it more and more. It start to grow on you. The nostalgic factor was the main pull for me. I like how you done your quick mock up, especially the part where the landing platform is outside of the circumference. I can understand how confusing you might felt, especially when you had successfully presented the idea. I tend to think that the designer would have wanted to limit the features within the Cloud City perimeter as much as possible within the four sectors. Thanks Brickster! Glad to see you swing by. This is really like a playset and less worthy of a display set. It will be fun for children who 'had' first seen the Empire Strikes Back. Unfortunately, those children had already grown up to be AFOLs. Appreciate the sharing of some back-story for yourself, I will have to admit it is imaginative to be creative to make use of whatever limited resources to create your own playground. I had certainly having fun swooshing both. Well, I wanted to put in the neutral... and yes, it was deployed by Lando to do the Carbon Freeze.. It was just my initial instinct to place him with the antagonist angle since the Carbon Freeze procedures for Han Solo were all baddies. Apologies for the broken SW poll. The Admins are still looking into this problem and unfortunately we had not been able to resolve it. Is it so? I thought I had built it right. Let me go back and review it. Noted and understood. As mentioned above, it was just pure instinct for me to place him with the baddies.

Hello everyone, This is my second review from the LEGO SOLO: A Star Wars Story. Till this date, I haven't watched the movie yet and I got overwhelmed with these new sets. I think I had pretty much most of everything. So far, I had only done the 75209 Han Solo's Landspeeder and I aim to bring more Star Wars review soon. Meanwhile, please be rest assured that this review will not contain spoilers. This review is done comprehensively and there are about a total of 17 images in this layout. It was because this is one of the sets which I had bought overseas and got it back in a debox manner. I also like to highlight that I had completed building this set first before the photo taking commence. Hope you will like this simple reviewing coverage for our Eurobricks Community. Name: 75210 Moloch's Landspeeder Theme: LEGO System / Licensed / Star Wars / SOLO: A Star Wars Story Year: 2018 Pieces: 464 Minifigs: 2 minifigures and 2 Corellian Hound Price: USD 39.99, GBP 44.99, EURO 49.99, SGD 99.90 Resources: Brickset, BrickLink, Brick Insights An original box image of the 75210 Moloch's Landspeeder Back view of the original box image of the 75210 Moloch's Landspeeder Let's hunt for our mark When I first saw this set, I was not very impressed with the blocky looking design but when I noticed Han Solo's Landspeeder is missing a 'companion'. I knew this will be the right action sequence fit for the speeder chase scene. On its own, it was not an outstanding design and it appear to be dull at first impression. However, after I had built it, the blocky shape suddenly make good sense and it was actually an accurate movie design reference too. Hence, this had increased its liking over the course of time and this set is proudly sit in front of my working table. Allow me to point out the fine details of this blocky dull landspeeder. Lastly, we do not get to see any dreaded sticker sheet for this set. Moloch, Rebolt minifigures plus 2 Corellian Hounds This set contain two new detailed minifgures namely Moloch and Rebolt. Both minifigures contain back printing while Rebolt bear an alternate facial expression and Moloch utilise the new skirt slope dress piece. The head is an unique mold which is designed to shape Moloch's flexible concertinaed cowl armour. To share abit more on their background, our unfriendly Moloch is extremely loyal to Lady Proxima - Leader of the White Worms. Moloch belong to Grindalid species and they are not a fan of sunlight. For our other guest, Rebolt. He also belong to the White Worms Gang and compete with other scumrats who are much smarter than himself. Moloch wield a short blaster and a sceptre, while Rebolt used a whip. The other two animal companions are the Corellian hounds from the planet Corellia. These hounds were used for attack and tracking. The completed built of Moloch's Landspeeder The completed Moloch's Landspeeder is a mixture of dark/medium grey and slight mix of sand brown bricks. It is a sturdy and firm built. This is also known as the "Trast Heavy Transports, A-A4B Truckspeeder". We can refer to this landspeeder as a truckspeeder based on the speeder classification. The armoured transport is only capable of sitting one passenger behind its protective roll bar. The armoured bulky looking transport has a powerful noisy engine that allow the speeder to propel forward but in actual fact, it has these lovely mini wheels to allow this truckspeeder to experience a hovering sensation. This truckspeeder has a couple of nice playability features such as the multi-stud shooter at the front of the truckspeeder. It can be activated from the side of the truckspeeder via the circular round piece. The rear end of the truckspeeder also contain a storage cabin area. It can keep a couple of feeding baskets for the hungry hounds and spare ammunition. This truckspeeder also contain a forward cage which holds a pack of snarling Corellian hounds. How can we get them up to the cage? The Imperial Patrols have discovered our operations Get these hounds away from us I owe you nothing, so get lost! To conclude, this is an average LEGO Star Wars set and I merely bought it for keeping Han Solo's landspeeder busy and for both of these unique minifigures which is available from this set, not forgetting the two hounds. The design itself is not exactly appealing and many might this landspeeder kind of oversize which is true for a shape of a landspeeder. In this case, this is largely considered as a truckspeeder similar to modern day 'trucks'. In addition, the price count and SRP for this set is ridiculously expensive and it will probably take a real fan of Star Wars SOLO to get it. If this set is not even on discount, I will probably give it a miss. Summary review Playability: 8/10 (Fun and enjoyable truckspeeder which need a hovering speeding companion.) Design: 6/10 (Above average minifigures designs and slightly above average truckspeeder design which will not stand out on its own.) Price: 4/10 (Very expensive but do consider getting it when it is on heavily discounted sales.) Overall: 6/10 (I liked this set for the complement effect and it had earned a decent spot on my table for the time being.) I gave it a "3" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? That ship which I had included was indeed Anakin's Jedi Interceptor. This is a 9494 set which was released in 2012.

Henceforth, allow me to share images from the past which illustrate the humble LEGO origins of 1980s beginning with some these promotional advertisements from 1983-1984. I start to get nostalgic and passionate about Classic Town as I continue viewing these advertisements. It slowly bring the keen interest of why I love LEGO in the first place. The simplicity and evergreen of playing these sets altogether. It is not hard to find what are what, if you are into LEGO long enough. More importantly, how many of you are still keeping Classic Town sets from 1983-1984? I have been keeping some and those are some of my decade old reviews back in the heydays of Classic Town.net (no longer in existence). Fabulastic Minifigures We pause a moment and pay a tribute to these fellows. Who could forget these awesome lovable Fabuland Minifigures! Don't you find some of these characters unique in Eurobricks? I suppose you can identify a few. Do also check out Fabuland Builders' Guild if you have not done so. It was a 'medieval' movement by Eurobricks with a bunch of wacky Fabuland lovers, dated in 2008. Classic Castle and Classic Space are still ever going so strong !You can still see the classic old space helmet plus those tons of awesomeness space moon craters baseplate in the images and those awesome old grey masonic bricks with great soldiers' minifigures from the Lion Knights. It's interesting to see how you guys revolve around the thoughts of these images and how we would wish to relate to these current sets' releases. Well, it is not possible to see a re-return unless a Legends equivalent come about and TLG had stated not to do it in the future. Thanks CopMike for sharing these scanned magazines.

Glad to see you all look pretty excited about these CMFs sketches like I do. I think you are right. It could be the replacement of Dragon based on the time period analogy. I thought it was strange on why this is the only earlier series. I will include the Dragon inside above. Thanks.

This era excites me the most and this is the era where I personally can relate most with my childhood. I could imagine flipping the catalog and wishing for certain sets. Not everything came true and at the very least, I had Classic Town accompany me. When I grew up, I started to buy more of the older built sets in relatively good condition for the Classic Castle. Those are the ones which I had missed a lots. Awesome Brickster! I am glad you had enjoyed this walk down memory lane and more importantly, making you look at your own childhood achievement too. I need to locate that tabletop photos too in actual 3R format. Damn it. I missed those days when we are doing the Classic Town reviews. This bring back lots of good memories in EB as well as reminding my childhood. Thanks for sharing these vintage and yet so meaningful photos.

Well, you can modify it slightly and as for me, this is my first ever Jedi's Starfighter to swoosh around in the house. The pricing for SGD is amounted to $59.90 and to be honest for this set count, I will think $44.90 is a much reasonable pricing. For the SGD to GBP conversion for SG SRP, it will amount to GBP 33.68 at 1.78 exchange rate today. So, yes it is not reasonable for local SRP pricing. Then again, there is always another topic to discuss on this kind of sensitivities. By the way, buddy. I got the new X-Wing Fighter and I have not built though (looking forward to buil it). It's terribly priced at SRP. I agree and best to find it at a discount. You are right on the cockpit having a small gap from beneath the seat below. It is not exactly visible unless you look at it directly. I think that is still quite acceptable even though it will be preferred to extend till the end of the cockpit from the bricks below (near the wings and engine). What are you looking for? Fully agree that R2-D2 ought to have back printing but R2-D2 as being the famous droid. I guess they wanted to leave it intact for maximum exposure on the same droid type design. I can't comment on the older set in terms of playability but this is quite good enough for me. Thanks for sharing.

I wanted to have a proper looking Anakin Skywalker in my collection (minus from the cartoonish version which I have). Hence, this is quite a good replacement for it but after you have pointed out. I begin to have second thoughts.
