    Where to sell

All, Thank you all for the replies. This weekend I'm going to list all the missing pieces (very frustrating on the newer kits that I have brought - I get the older stuff as that was brought in a job lot) Either way, like I say list out what I need and get the missing bits. Once again, thank you for taking the time Pete

    Where to sell

After putting a lot of old kits together and talking to the kids (who aren't actually kids anymore!) I'm going to look into trying to sell some of the older kits I have. I read another post on here about old v new and a Nostalgia 'thing' with old lego. Which I have but the kids don't! They like the new stuff. I have kept the old Star Wars lego kits - and put them on display. The other kits however not so sure. So to get to the point eventually - where would be the best place to sell - Ebay or a site like bricklink (only problem here I don't know what they are worth?) Also if bits are missing is it acceptable to replace with a new piece (same size and colour of course) I only ask this as I have an old spaceship and the bricks are very faded. EDIT: or break them in to parts even?

    Identifying a part

Came across a 1976 Taxi Station whilst doing this. Was looking up a black 2 x 3 brick with 'Taxi' on it and it was only in 1 kit! That obviously made it a lot easier. Then I was off!! Found a lot more of the kit as well. This must have been in a box load I brought off of ebay years ago. So far in total I've found 33 sets. Not all complete unfortunately but nothing major missing. Not sure if I can bothered to order all the missing bits or not. Might just leave it for my kids in years to come I'm getting towards the end of this now, had lots of fun. Made a lot of then up as much as can be then bagged and tagged them. In a dust proof box and back up in the loft!!

You know, got to be honest, this was me being a little lazy - your right, bit of google time and I've found some of them. Quite a lot of fun actually!!!

    Identifying a part

Hi, I am slowly working my way through all the lego in the loft (pretty much a box of pieces - some sets resembled that they were - the easy bit!!). Pretty much finished putting together the kits that have instructions. However I do have pieces that look interesting and want to know where they are from and if I can make it. So to make a simple question very long is there an easy way to identify parts? Thank you for any help and edvice Kind regards Pete
  8. One more to go now. Can't believe how long this has taken and how much I've enjoyed it! Next up are the Indiana Jones sets, no where near as many of these and I don't think there is as good a shape (all parts or at least most of them present) The star wars was a little easier as at least that started in its own box. The IJ parts are in 'general population'!!!

    Tweaked Tie Fighter MOC

    amazing!!
  10. Good point, did order the bit the the Y-wing as got impatience. As I realised I will a lot more it hit me. So I have opened a spreadsheet with a list. Finished General Grievous Starfighter today and all the bits where there!! Result Picking off a lot of the smaller ones to start - Initially found it a real pain sorting all the bits out but it ended up really helping as I'm startingto recognise some bits now and remember where I put them. Next problem is where they're going to go, the shelves are filling up quick!
  11. Typically the Y-Wing was missing one very unique and crucial part . Bricklink to the rescue. Got a horrible feeling I shall be visiting that site quite a bit!!!
  12. I've pretty much finished separating all the colours now. Popular colours like black and the (light & dark) grey I am breaking them down to bags within the main bag. Separating these into single blocks, double etc. Finished the Y-Wing last night. Took around 2 hours to source the parts (photocopied the list in the back of the instructions then high-lighted when found) Some of the older kits don't have the inventory list but found the parts list online so will do a similar things. More 'wings' planned this weekend - My son is tackling the 'X' and I'm hitting the 'B' !!
  13. 4 down now and going ok (ish) Missing a few parts (lot of figures) but making do. It's like a lego explosion in the front room!!
  14. All going well so far. Even the ships that are part complete I have broken back down. These are of course in separate bags. Figured part of the fun is the building! Also started separating the colours as well. Once done I'll break these down even more.
  15. Good advice. Got another couple of kits for my birthday which I've just put together (all Star Wars) Made me even more excited about sorting the lot out in the loft!!
