    Animal Crossing 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

$50/45 Euros on Friends, Animal Crossing, Creator, City or Dreamzzz to get both of the polybag (The Friends polybag is 30635) Additionally, there's a second GWP, a mini flower shop, that can be earned with $200/170 Euros, any category. Both of these will go from the 1st to the 10th, depending on stock.

    Animal Crossing 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Just a few days until these release! I'm feeling pretty excited. Part of me is tempted to get the Isabelle/Fauna set and the Bunnie set on release day from Lego.com, which (if the rumors are true) would be enough to hit the threshold to get a free Maple polybag (and a Friends bag). The Isabelle/Fauna set feels like the best "bang for your buck" set in the wave for me, and I like the Bunnie set the most out of the smaller sets. I'm not really interested in the Julian set (maybe I'll get the minifig if I can find him cheap), and I'm not quite feeling the Marshall/Kapp'n set (Either a sale, or maybe get the minifigs separate). I do like the Tom Nook/Rosie set, but it also feels expensive compared to the others... Maybe I can find it on a sale, or do some trades with my Bricks & Minifigs to bring down the price a bit. Anyone else have any "buying plans" for these?

Bricklink Designer Program 2021 Discussion Thread

With the program now closed, neither General Store nor Parisian Street maxed out their sales. General Store sold a respectable 78.044 percent (leaving about 6,600 sets "unsold"), with Parisian Street at only 58.18 percent sold (12,500 "unsold"). I honestly think that most sales came from the first few days, and definitely not many after the first week. Interesting to look at, and I'm curious to see what will be chosen in Wave 5!
  4. I just got through The Brothers Brick review. It has comparison shots with the old MMV and the Blacksmith, if that would help anyone figure out the scale. The MMV is certainly older, but it still somehow feels only a little smaller than the MTS to me? Seeing that sticker sheet is rough, though. I'm willing to admit that some things would have been stickers regardless, but if a piece can reasonable by reused in other sets, or is used multiple times in a set, I think there's an arguments for it to be printed. If the shutters, letters, and the tax collector book were printed, I could probably accept the rest, but not having those printed feels a little penny-pinching from Lego to me. Overall... I'd say it's a fine set. Probably an 8 out of 10, maybe a 7 - by no means a slam dunk, and I'm still going to wait for a GWP/sale to get it. But, it's at least still on my radar!

I also noticed that Captain Rex's shoulder cape is also on there (though out of stock). I wonder if that was a mistake, or if it will actually be added?

Teases usually come a day or two before reveal, so I think a reveal Tuesday or Wednesday would make sense. I am surprised this is getting teased (and potentially revealed) this month, though. I feel like it's announcement is going to overshadow the Medieval Town Square, since they fill a similar medieval niche for a lot of people. I probably would have waited until after MTS released to show this off... But Lego does reveals at odd times! (See: Animal Crossing)
  7. Just ignore the person - it's what I've done at this point. No one is going to change anyone's opinion at this point, and it all just feels like a way to provoke a reaction (thus, me hinting at someone "wanting" a response). Lego is my hobby and my freetime; I'm not going to get into pointless arguments about it with other people.

Forestman's Castle is Forest Stronghold (To be sold in Wave 3 in October): https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-3/1127/Forest-Stronghold The Black Falcon Encampment I believe refers to the Advanced Encampment, which is being voted on as a part of Wave 4: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-4/1382/Advanced-Encampment

The leaked rough image of the set just got taken down from the Reddit by their legal team... That gains points towards credibility, but also makes me wonder how much they want to keep it under wraps. Most blurry images are fine to stay up unless they're watermarked confidential, but this one seemed to get special treatment...

    Disney Properties 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

That's a fantastic looking set! Great details and builds across the board. But, it's well out of budget for me.
  11. At the end of the day, there is still someone who sets the budget for the department. Those budgets have to be set by someone, so when I said that "Lego could have figured out a way" to make it work, I'm referring to whoever came to the designer with the budgetary restraints. Some themes/sets simply get more budget (CMF's are a good example of this), so it's not unreasonable to think that one particular set could have an increased budget. That's why many of us in the thread have been blaming the "pencil pushers" for the final look, and not the designer. Your personal attack is both unwanted and unwarranted. Looking at the average CMF series as an example, there are a large number of new parts/prints. It costs money to make those prints/new molds. However, that high quality (and, ergo, a higher "perceived value" from most consumers) means that a large volume of those sets are sold. If the MTS had more prints/minifigs/animals, the profits for an individual unit might be smaller, but more sets might be sold - IE, a higher total profit at the end of the day. Could that possibly be about making me more satisfied with the final product? Sure. But there's a number of people that don't feel like they are getting a good "perceived value" with the set, which could lead to less sets being sold, and less money in Lego's pockets in the long term.

White, according to the leaks. Confirmed from the leaks! She is apparently getting the one new helmet mold (though lots of new hair/head molds seem to be coming!) A few other details that have been trickling out, in case anyone wants them: The Githyanki, being yellow, will have yellow elf ears. So, hopefully that means it can be used like the CMF elves! The Dragonborn armor is "flat silver, with gold and black printing (black plating details, with gold highlights)," and looks like "the Ninjago Master of the Mountain pauldron, but on both sides and a full chest piece" The silhouette of the dwarf's axe looks similar to Eris', but is a little wider and has a flat top. Gunmetal grey with no design or pattern, with a 4L bar. The mace is attached to a blue 4L bar with a chain, and is "pearlescent-trans." It has an anti-stud on the bottom, and a stud on the top. Strahd's head is light grey.

Forgive me for missing it, but where did the no-flesh-tone printing news come from? I hadn’t heard that but it’s very exciting to hear. Happy to help provide those links! Hopefully those are more-or-less accurate. The "no flesh tone" means that the torsos and legs shouldn't have any "skin" showing. The minifigs themselves will be a variety of colors, including many flesh-tones minifigs (IE, not all yellow, I think only one of them). However, that should mean that most of the parts will be usable on other minifigs without them clashing.

    Lego 'Wednesday' rumours and discussion.

Also, the figures will be mini dolls, based on the leaks going around. Odd decision, if you ask me, but oh well...

Are any of those in the big 21348 set, though? If so, they may have wanted to spread them out a little bit. Also (and forgive me for my ignorance), is there a major enough visual difference between, for example, a Barbarian and a Fighter, or a Wizard and a Sorcerer, to have it make sense to make them take up that many slots in the CMF? As an outsider, it sounds like they would look pretty similar.

21348 Lego Ideas Dungeons & Dragons and D&D CMF

It really is a good win-win for everyone if this is accurate. People wanting to make their own D&D characters can much more easily mix and match parts to make what they want. People not into D&D at all can just get some new medieval/fantasy parts that fit seamlessly with existing minifigs. I'm sure there would have been a temptation to have some ripped clothes/midriffs/short sleeves, but this would actually allow for more diversity with the minifigs in the long-term.

A few minor things from r/legoleak: The halfling bard ins a half-elf (already noted here a few times) The dwarf, githyanki, tiefling, halfling, and half-elf have masculine and feminine alt faces. The gith is yellow. Dragonbotn appears to be pearl gold, tiefling is orange, aaracokra is white. The printed box that the Lady of Pain carries has a red circle with a blue mountain printed on it, with gilding along the edges (anyone know what that might be?) There is no skin printed on any of them (I assume that means legs/torsos?), except for the aaracokra's legs.

Oh, looks like the conversation about these is happening here! Anyways, I typed up the list and added a few links, in case anyone is like me and has no idea about these characters: Female dwarf barbarian with axe, and torch (bearded alt face). Possible new mold for axe. Githyanki warlock with eye staff, and possible new molds for knife and hair. Tiefling sorcerer with red baby Dragon and new molds for hair/horns and trans-pink claws (?) Dragonborn Paladin with shields and mace. Vidiyo dragon head. Possible new mold for armor and mace head. Halfling druid with fancy cape, bird and staff. New mold for antlered hood. Aarakocra ranger with bow and small dog. Faun legs, possible new mold for head and wings. Mindflayer with intellect devourer (new molds for head and devourer) Strahd Von Zarovich with sword, goblet, rat, and cape. Halfling bardHalf-elf bard with printed lute and sword. Possible new mold for hair and scarf. The Lady of Pain with a printed cube and fancy cape. New mold for headpiece. Szass Tam with trans-red skull, energy blast, and dark red collared cape Tasha the Witch Queen with book and cauldron. Uses Hocus Pocus witch hat and hair piece. I think this sounds promising, and I'm sure it will get a lot of people into army-building with a lot of these characters. I'm interested to see what these will look like, though, since I know that these characters don't have one look.
  19. Huh... I guess we were right in guessing that it would be a licensed theme, though I'm surprised it wasn't Animal Crossing or Fortnite. Still, the descriptions sound promising (description from Bricktap, visual links my own): Female dwarf barbarian with axe, and torch (bearded alt face). Mindflayer with intellect devourer (new molds for head and devourer) Strahd Von Zarovich with sword, goblet, rat, and cape. Halfling bard Half-Elf Bard with printed lute and sword. I have no idea if those images are super accurate or not, but that does help give me some idea what to expect. I think it could be a cool one, and it has some good army building potential as well for a lot of them. If anyone with more D&D knowledge can shed some light, though, I'd be greatful! Edit: A few minor updates: The halfling bard ins a half-elf The dwarf, githyanki, tiefling, halfling, and half-elf have masculine and feminine alt faces. The gith is yellow. Wicked 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I think Lego would really be shooting themselves in the foot if that's the case. Wednesday especially is more for a teenage audience, and I think minifigs would be a much better fit over minidolls, which skew for a younger audience. I do agree with you that minidolls have been looking better, but they're no substitute for good-old minifigs! Anyways, there's lots of details for more licensed stuff, courtosy of maxbaut (who is reputable): Lego Wicked (Bright) 75681 - 304 pieces - 29.99 Euros 75682 - 558 pieces - 49.99 Euros 75683 - 59.99 Euros (no part count) 75684 - 945 pieces - 89.99 Euros Lego Wednesday (Buffalo) 40750 - Wednesday Brickheadz - 239 Pieces - 9.99 Euros 76780 - 702 pieces - 49.99 Euros 76781 - 750 pieces - 79.99 Euros Lego Fortnite (Juno) 40728 GWP - 151 pieces 77070 - 193 Pieces - 29.99 Euros 77071 (Loot Llama?) - 691 Pieces - 39.99 Euros 77072 (Peely Bone?) - 59.99 Euros 77073 - 954 Pieces - 79.99 Euros 77074 (Art Set?) - 119.99 Euros

21348 Lego Ideas Dungeons & Dragons and D&D CMF

I don't know much about DnD, but this set looks magical! It also looks like a fun "all in one" castle set, with both a traditional castle and a small village. I do wonder what kinds of play features or scenes it has towards the back though. I also think that it looks much "warmer", or at least more colorful, than the original. At $360, it might be out of my price range (unless I can get the build by itself without any minifigs or the dragon for cheap), but it looks cool!
  25. As far as the shields go, I think it's one area that could have used a sticker to show a half-painted shield on one or two of the pieces. Goodness knows the set already has enough, but it would have added a little more to the shield painter's shop if we're going to sticker bomb the place anyways.
