[MOC] Aquasharks "Spurdog" Fast Attack Submarine
Thrawnie replied to Pimbo's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Awesome. The Aquasharks were my single favorite Lego theme as a kid. (Still are, really.) -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures - The LEGO Movie Series Discussion

Yeah, I just looked at the review topic, and Wyldstyle's face there looks exactly the same as the one I got. Bleh. Oh well, saves me getting a second one.Anyway, here's my mermaid compared with the normal one. It's a small enough difference that I'd guess some people wouldn't be bothered by it, but to me it looks really weird. -

Printing quality's not great either. I got Wyldstyle and the mermaid, and Wyldstyle's eyes and mouth were crooked and way too close together, and the mermaid's entire face print was noticeably too low on the head. -
It's kinda difficult to make out any details because everything's black. I think making the wall and floor dark gray would make it easier to see stuff while still keeping the "evil foreboding wizard's lair" motif. Either that or photograph it with a reeeeeally strong light source shining on it and do some contrast tweaking in photoshop or whatever.

Dang, I was seriously planning to get this set, but seeing how pathetic it looks next to the Kingdoms tower - yeah, no. Not at $50.

I'm trying to understand why this is raising such a stink when nobody seemed to complain about, say, Bellville or Clikits, both of which were considerably more pink and girly, and, more importantly, were poorer quality products. (maybe there was some controversy and I just didn't see it, I don't exactly go looking for that sort of thing) If they were complaining about those lines, I could actually see myself agreeing with them somewhat, but honestly I think Friends is really a major step in the right direction for quality girl-oriented toys.

Very nice, I really like the integration of the Bionicle chestplate pieces in the back, it's always nice to see theoretically 'useless' parts put to use in interesting ways.

Hi all, AFOL from the US here. I've been lurking on these forums for...over four years now, I think. Finally decided to go ahead and register. Been collecting Lego since 1994, (yeah, not that long compared to some folks here ) and I tend to waffle between Castle and Sci-fi MOC building.
