Petaldan attacks the "Twisted 8 Ball" from the Front Row with the Slimy Sword "I hope none of you mind."

I think you should be encouraged automatically because you are a barbarian. Pretzel takes a Smelling Salts and Attacks Guts from the Back Row with the Tyrant's Maul.

"Oh...no, no, no," groans Petaldan in dismay. "I can fight the demon, but I can't fight Skuld or Wally..."

If I were a demon I'd be so getting on board with her right now...don't know what Germ's problem is. Yes, absolutely. I suppose Hoples' is Pretzel's man. I'm sure, there are others Pretzel would relate to more, like Namyrra or Fervent. From the actual quest, I recall Pretzel being a bit impatient with Hoples. But it absolutely makes sense that he's here, since Pretzel was thinking about him most recently.

Because why else would you want to visit the bathroom in the middle of the day when you've got a perfect life, right?

Heroica RPG - Quest #159: An Unexpected Return

Pretzel finds himself face to face with Rosier. Despite her massive bulk and fearsome display of power, Pretzel strangely finds all fear and nervousness subside. "So, there you are. Too afraid to challenge us outright, are you? Well, you may have been wise on that score. Do you know what happened to the last archdemon to run into a band of Heroes? Well, let's just say he's literally in a Hero's pocket at present. I'm sure Atramor would be happy to add you to his collection, but not before we've dealt with you." Pretzel fondles a variety of his weapons as he speaks. Petaldan also finds that his fears have vanished. "Well," he mutters to Ezeran and Torald, "this is the battle that I've always been dreaming of. The day I actually get to fight a demon face to face. You know, I prefer it this way. When you have to fight people you're always worried about whether you're doing the right thing or not. Here I don't need to worry about that."[/color]

Heroica RPG - Quest #159: An Unexpected Return

Just before they are snapped back to reality, Pretzel--seeing Atramor do what he has done--gets a brilliant idea. Following after Germ and the Copper Fox, he waits for the opportune moment. "I have been waiting to do this for a long time," he declares smugly, before bringing the full weight of Heaven and Hell (Okay, let's pretend it's not a whip for a second), down on Germ.

I thought that was a Town Watch uniform Greely was wearing, so I thought it was Hoples without his wig. "Damn, Dyric, I have a feeling that there can't be anything good in that package being brought to the veterans. Do you think we should just claim it?" Suddenly, I hear Atramor's words and watch him plunge himself through with his claws. "Damn! If things aren't going south, but if the Nornalis is active, I wonder if he'll actually die..." I look on. "I know something that always wakes me up from my dreams..." laughs Petaldan with a naughty smile. Sneaking behind Boomingham's chair, Petaldan draws his sword and slices through the back two chair legs, sending the chair tumbling backwards.

Heroica RPG - Quest #159: An Unexpected Return

"I have quite a collection of bombs on me." I mention casually, but with a somewhat wicked smile. Suddenly a new thought enter my mind. "Darn it! None of you ran into the gnome village in the duration of this quest, did you? God, I hope these roots haven't destroyed that place...how many of you have been there before?"

Heroica RPG - Quest #159: An Unexpected Return

"Yes, Karie is right. Besides, it seems a tad hypocritical to complain about the rule of the founders and then start talking as if we will be the ones to decide who controls the city. I mean...I don't know. Perhaps it is best that we do, but the last elections...Even if Throlar would want to take the position, do you really think the best way for him to go about it would be to just take the badge and proclaim himself captain?" I jab Dyric. "Oh, really? You're just afraid of losing out, eh? What you mean to say is that you know a lot more rogues more qualifies than you, right?" I laugh and continue jocularly, "Well, I can't say I'd complain about team "DAMN" being Heroica's next bunch of veterans, but we'll have to find a replacement for Namyrra. By the way, we're all worrying about this archdemon, but if Rosier is anything like the last one we faced, we'll wipe her out without a blink." The hint of nervousness in my voice just barely betrays my true feelings. "More harm? What would you have done? Forgive my asking. If you don't want to say, I completely understand. "About that Hero's Cocktail...I don't know. The last time I fought an Archdemon, our team used them to great effect, but this time around...it seems every battle we fight, our enemies become more and more aware of our tactics and finding ways to work around them. Holding it in your Halberd is always a good option though." "I'm not sure about that. Based on what we've heard, it sounds to me that it's better that the Doomsayer is not around for now. As far as Cain is concerned...leave him be. There is no use troubling the dead with the burdens of the living. Besides, I'm not sure what kind of being a Pixie Dust figment of another's imagination can raise from the grave..." "By the way, Throlar, it was a pleasure working with you, both in the tavern when this whole mess started and now. I must say that I don't quite have the diplomatic abilities that I once did, but I'm glad that you did not give in to violence, but helped to negotiate this truce." I approach Commander Fervent. "Glad that we could rescue you from your fate there. I must say that I am very glad we got here on time. I hate to think that you could have faced disgrace and lost your life on our account."

WBD, not sure if you're letting us decide whether the NPCs stick with us or not, there didn't appear to be any indication of that. Some of them would seem more the kind to stick it out, but others not. But I don't want to hijack this from you or steal your chance to play for them a bit more.

Heroica RPG - Quest #159: An Unexpected Return

Pretzel joins Hoke, or flies alongside him on his Flying Cross if such a thing is possible. He turns to Arthur, slightly confused. "I thought you were pretty content in the watch? I must have completely misread you." Meanwhile, Waldorf whispers to Petaldan, "**** man, I don't think I'm ready to go square up to any demon, just now." "I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is the demon that did Annie in." "Wow! That's scary, actually. I mean...I want to avenge her and all, but I'm not really feeling all that heroic right now..." "I was pretty scared myself just now (I hope I didn't wet my diaper), but sometimes being a hero is just about doing the right thing, even when you don't feel like it. "Well, I'm not sure about all that, but I definitely don't want to be in this fort when it gets thrown to high heaven. Let's go." So saying, Petaldan and Waldorf head for the ships.

"Karie...I respect your...misfortune, but really do you have to do this now? Can you put aside your squabble for the time being while we try to save this city once again> You are just cementing the idea that these people have in their minds that heroes are all about looking for their personal interests. I'm sorry about your sister, I still don't know all that happened, but I think we must prioritize on saving the living before we attempt to avenge the dead."

"While sending a Zmail is great. It won't help us get a reply if they don't have a mage on board." I glance at the note and chuckle a little. "I doubt you could state your terms so plainly with any other house, but Hestia should understand...hopefully. I guess it's time to see whether she's more of a Bonaparte or more of a hero. Not sure how much power she has though? What about Blackgull?"

I have nightmares of that quest sometimes...and I wasn't on it. All I know is that when we voted at the end of the year for best battle strategist, I voted Danny without a second thought.
