[MOC] Anakin's Jedi Interceptor with Hyperspace Ring
Ackbar replied to Swan Dutchman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Really great MOC! I especially like the hyperspace ring. -
Statistical Distribution of LEGO Star Wars sets throughout the years
Ackbar replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Very nice poll! As an older (well, in the 35+ category...) AFOL, I'm only into OT (and occationally PT), mostly the UCS-series. Yet, I still voted there's a god balance. LEGO is also a toy, and has to follow trends, new series and appeal a big group of fans. If there would be more OT and UCS I would be very poor, so I'm happy NOT feeling the urge to buy everything... -
[MOC] "I fly in now" Episode VI last attack on the Death Star
Ackbar replied to markus1984's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Really cool! I've never seen a MOC of this scene before. Original and Great details capture the speed and feeling in the scene. Good work! -
[MOC] RotJ speederbike - alternative build from Desert Skiff 9496
Ackbar replied to Brix's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I totally agree with the previous post. This is a great build with limited pieces, the shape and feel of the speederbike is captured indeed. And contests with limited pieces to certain sets is a really interesting challenge! -
Wow! This is really a mighty frigate. I really like the round shapes and the frigate looks great from every angle. The top, front, side, back... Every angle contributes with something special. Great work, would love to see it built...

Thanks all! I can't help it. Here's another Malgus. Maybe not the funniest joke but it shows Malgus comic potential as I mentioned in a previous post.
-
I haven't thought about those stains! Very funny

Thanks! I’ve read that many people hold Darth Malgus as one of the greatest minifigs of all time. But, the comments are almost always about his detailed chest piece so I tried to use that in a Funnie. I also think Malgus is a great minifig, but there’s something really funny about him as well. I think he looks like he is struggling really hard to look evil, menacing, and almost constipated. I might do more Funnies with him in the future! I borrowed the Friendsfigs from my daughters, those Friendsfig can make a quite scary army!

I really enjoy this thread so I'll try to make a contribution: And a second one:

The B-wing looks really great - a must buy for me! Can't complain much over the cockpit, pieces built up and around it to make the perfect size. My only concern (except the high price - of course) is those big orange spots... Stickers I guess (can anyone confirm?)... These spots must be placed in the exact middle of the plate, otherwise it will look weird. Oh I wish these are printed...
-
Great ones as always Oky! And that Dart Vader is fantastic!
-
Got mine today! Such a great little minifig, really happy to have one. The chromed head with the printed eyes is especially stunning.

I just received my May 4th order! USC R2 and I got the poster and the TC-14, but no mini TIE Fighter. The mini TIE was included in my order so TLG missed that one. And with the other replies in this topic it is clear that TLG has been really stressed out when packaging... I can live without the mini TIE but if TC-14 had been missing, I would be mad! Great minifig.
-
You nailed it! Absolutely stunning! The most impressive thing is that the shape is just perfect and made with few parts count. It follows TLG's techniques and design very well and could be a VERY VERY good official model.
-
Good luck at TLG!!! You'll be missed at this forum for sure!

...and I must add - The ads are great! The ICA ad is spot on!!!

I've been living in Stockholm for 13 years, going with the "green line" many times, going off at "Medborgarplatsen". This is an amazing MOC! Very well done - put a big smile on my face

And if you could flick-fire away Jar-Jar's head, it's a must buy for me. And StoutFiles - that was really a great one
-
Great review! This is a really great set. And the minfigs are stunning! Even though I mostly stick to USC sets, this was a must buy for me. The wings are spot on and - it's almost unbelievable nowdays - no stickers! My only (small) complaint about this set is that there's too much dark grey around the cockpit. It would be more accurate with more light grey or at least the same coloration. Now the cockpit gets rather messy with dark and light grey blended randomly.

This is a interesting topic, and I have not yet made up my mind about this completely. But I know this. I've been really looking forward to the new 2012 wave, those Sandtroopers for example. After finally building the Escape Pod 9490 today, I looked at those awesome troopers, yet I was not pleased. I put them next to my older army of stormies and realized I like them a lot better. The detailing was just a bit too much on the Sandtroopers. I agree with all you saying that the best minifigs came from the period about 2006-2009. Minifigs was the first that really got me into Lego Star Wars. The detailing on the newest wave of figs is a bit too much (especially the faces, they’re just not Lego anymore), as if the figs was going away from Lego and becoming detailed action-figures. The best thing about the minifigs is the combination of Lego and Star Wars, and I do think I prefer when the best of two worlds is equally combined and obvious. And yes, the minifigs will continue to evolve - but in what direction?

Thanks for the review, this is a set I will get for sure! Very nice little set and that new cockpit piece is a must-have! Even though the cockpit piece is great I actually think the back of the Interceptor looks even better than the front.
