Congrats to all car lovers! Very beautiful wheels, soo nice  !

The price is insane, regardless the high piece count :hmpf_bad:.. But on the other hand - the Ultimate Collectors will buy it, it´s relatively cheap compared to the parts costs for an average MOC, even in smaller scale.

I guess in the video we can see a very early prototype - everything can change in the end product. But I agree about the engine - it´s way too big and sits too high in the car. Why on earth couldn´t they design new cylinders / smaller engine blocks?

The wheels´ attachment points seem to be behind the virtual pivot point in the center. There is no need for new hubs - you could easily attach them like this:

EDIT: is it possible we will see REAL brake discs here??

I have tried a setup like this before and found it has a lot of flex and pulley wheels can move in and out a lot. I hope they will have a different part or a better way of controlling all the movement

  2. I have over the last few years been building my own 4 wheel drive 4 wheel steer 5 speed manual gear box super car which i hope to post at some point if I'm ever happy with it.

if it is going to be 4 wheel drive I can't think that the gear box can be anything more than 4 gears as on the Porsche it takes up allot of space so would need to be double that for about 3/4 more gears then your going to have a fun time getting the drive shafts to the front wheels unless we get some more idle gears. All of this has to sit behind the seats and before the engine and the Porsche had to have that clunky reverse switch in the middle.

It's not surprising if the new design will be required in a future set, not necessarily from this year. An example is the wheel that would one day be used on the 8880, with its then-mysterious slots near its axle hole.

+1 to this also i believe the redesign on the 42039 for the curved panel was for future models as much as itself and the mini turntable

I do remember getting those wheels on the trike and wondering about its design until the 8880 arrived

  4. @Ngoc Nguyen

That is interesting from your diagram are the pin holes now 5 studs apart or is it still 3?

I wonder how they might now limit the rotation if you wish to motorise, if it is free to rotate 360 your going to need some fine motor control / gearing or if it has an internal stop and you use a motor too much torque and your going to bust them or need several clutch gears.

I also wonder if we may see a self regulating compressor

  5. Unless it's the 1963 Corvette I'm not interested . Yellow is the Ferrari team racing colour where red is the Italian racing colour.

I can't see Lego creating a new colour for the next super car as the Porsche is in stock Lego orange not the lava orange. (so no metallics which makes it hard to make a Mercedes)

I don't think we would get orange again and there have been several blue vehicles lately and the Rally car has blue in it as well (so possible white is out too.)

Red always possible then would have to be a Ferrari. But then every thing apart from the 8880 has been red and the new rough terrain crane is red

Black also a probable also good for American mussel cars but the Mac has a lot of black.

Lime Green could be cool but it would have to be a Lamborghini

Yellow is in the running but I hope not never been a fan of Lego yellow on large scale unless it was a crane.

Well 42077 has differential, suspension parts, engine, more expensive wheels...probably there is a price difference for every type (and size and complexivety) of part, just compare prices of particular parts, last summer example 42070 was more expensive with less parts than 42069

I would say there is no probably about it  a wheel and tire has to cost more then two black pins. Also I suspect there is not much going on under the hovercraft deck.

  7. Hi,

I'm a long time lurker but I have to step out of the shadows as I need some help :)

The unit I was going to sit my Falcon on is too narrow, I have measured and is not the 54cm needed for a comfortable fit.

I do have room to let it overhang on either side so if someone could tell me the area needed for the landing gear fingers crossed I can still display it for a while without having to remodel my house.
